Fun fact: When Unohana stabbed his throat, his blood splattered on her cheek. After she said that he spaced out, the blood was still on her cheek. So that actually happened. Unohana really killed him.

The Unohana reveal has been hinted at since VERY early on in the series.
1. Everyone, even Captains as powerful as Shunsui and Ukitake are shown to be afraid of her (though this often played off for comedic relief).
2. Her fake name, Retsu, means "violent" or fierce", hinting at her true nature.
3. In the SS arc, she is the first Captain to notice something is off about Aizen's death (even while under complete hypnosis). When she arrives in the Underground Meeting assembly area after Aizen waxes Hitsugaya, he acknowledges that he thought she would be showing up soon.
4. If you recall Kenpachi's backstory flashback from the SS arc, he tells Yachiru that he named her after the one person he admires and respects. The First Kenpachi, Unohana Yachiru is that person.
5. Even from the first databooks, her total combat ability score was 540/600, which is second only to Aizen and Yamamoto who both have a total of 560/600. Her special ability was also listed as kenjutsu, NOT healing.
And the fact that even Aizen stated that he basically had no desire or intent on fight Unohana. 🙂
@@masamune2984 Dude can't gauge how strong Unohana is. Imagine if the roles is reversed between Yamaji and Unohana. Old man Yama is the healer, no one seen him fight for over a thousand years. Will you still fight against him? You would develop fear just like how Zaraki, Shunsui, Ukitate, and others are afraid of Unohana.

@@masamune2984 Aizen conveniently never fought Zaraki, Unohana, or Yamamoto. Though to be fair, I think he'd no diff Zaraki pre bankai. Tousen's bankai alone was technically able to kill Zaraki if he had gone for the head. And Aizen's shikai is that + more. Not only killing your senses, but altering your reality is not something Zaraki can foresee.

In case anyone is lost, Unohana is a healer and she's working with Shinsui to make Kenpachi stronger. She knows that Kenpachi gets stronger everytime he faces death. So her mission now is to keep killing him and reviving him till he's stronger than her. The blood on her face shows that it wasn't time rewrite but rather she healed him and resumed the fight, but she also doesn't want to tell him because you aren't going to try your best if you know there is no risk.

Comparing Kenpachi to Deku is absolutely wild. Zaraki crying was shocking. But unlike Deku or any crying mc or characters in anime, he did that because he wanted to beat her so much, that him "dying" would be disappointing.

Unohana was Kenpachi's setting from the first story of BLEACH. The scene where the 11th division member was frightened by the 4th division girlfriend and its production can definitely be said to be a foreshadowing. Next, in the title of Comic 109, there is "Like a tiger that does not step on flowers", which means that "flower" refers to Unohana and "tiger" is compared to Kenpachi. Kubo is famous for his poetry, so it was a beautiful expression that fits his work very well. Next is the Language of flowers of the 11th division. The flower of the 11th division is Sawgrass, which means "battle", "healing", "guidance", and "emotional wound". This all applies to Unohana, fighting is all about her, she can also heal, she mentored Zaraki, and she has the sin of weakening Kenpachi Zaraki, and she has her heart wounds. was carrying Next, this is famous, but her name Unohanaretsu had the character Kenpachi in it. If you write the names "Retsu" and "Kenpachi" in Japanese kanji and play "letter play", they will be the same kanji, so it was Kubo's magic. Kubo gave us hints on how to set her up as Kenpachi from the beginning, but there was no way we could understand her source material, which is too complicated and difficult to understand like in ONE PIECE. 😂 BLEACH is still in my big 3, at a level that can't be compared to trendy works that are blessed with animation.
Check Unahona's face after Kenpachi wakes up. The blood from his neck wound was still on her face when he woke up, indicating that the injury actually did happen. Remember, her greatest skill is sword-fighting, but she does have another skill that could explain why he isn't dead...
She is killing him and reviving him. That is why he feels like he is "blacking out"

While some may have felt like this plot twist seemingly came out of nowhere, Conversely throughout the series, Unohana was foreshadowed a few times despite her gentle personality and maternal figure of soul society.
1. Her braided hairstyle that she’s always wore at the front of her chest was to cover her scar.
2. She was the only one who saw through Aizen’s hypnosis and that he gave credit to for doing so back in soul society, fleeing from her knowing that if he fought her it would’ve been trouble, a death match for him.
3. Back in Hueco Mundo, the clean up squad of hollow soldiers known as the Exequias fled from her instead of putting up a fight knowing they didn’t stand a chance.
4. Shunsui and Ukitake as senior captains were shown being scared of/creeped out by her in the turn back the pendulum/Vizard flashback arc, as well as others being nervously afraid when she makes an eerie serious smile, which was only meant to be seen as a gag initially.
5. She the 2nd oldest after Yama and last remaining member of the OG 13 court guard squads just now revealed.
Needless to say it was a plot twist and a half that was subtly built up as a lady of the sword and a great character that just happens to be a woman: A Blood Prime Death Goddess.
Fun Fact: Unohana is the only female character in this series with no fan service, that is beneath her. An Epitome of a woman above men, the kind that makes the best out of them, just like Krista Sudmalis who invented the GigaChad.
There was a conversation between Ukitate and Shunsui talking about the first members of Gotei 13. Shunsui forgot about Unohana and Ukitate reminded him of her and Shunsui said "I might get scolded for forgetting my great senpai"

This episode has many moments especially Unohana. Ever since Kenpachi was introduced as well as yachiru being his adopted daughter who he named after Unohana since he admired her. Makes sense as both didn’t have names as Kenpachi got his name through a fight and Zaraki being from the district he was born in

I feel like a lot of reactors didn't catch this but the reason why Renji ate Tenjiro's punch was simply because he didn't get the full force of it cuz Tenjiro's hand was already fractured by Ichigo. Had he didn't, Renji would've been sitting in that bath for another day.

The scene was plain simple; Tenjiro didn't get to hit Renji as hard as he did to Ichigo cuz the latter already fractured his hand. I'm not downplaying Renji, I just don't think he withstood the same force much less be in the condition leave too early, dude looked like he still needed a couple more hours.

Compare the impact between the punch he swung at Ichigo and then Renji's. Ichigo just made a splash, when Renji was hit a large part of the hot spring was thrown around by the impact.

Basically, despite Renji being hit by a weaker punch (bro's hand was fractured), it felt stronger because he wasn't strong enough to soak up all that energy.
Ichigo flying around was more of a gag because Ichigo tanking that hit is obvious, kinda like him and his dad's gag fights. Renji tanking that was a big moment for him, that's why it wasn't treated as a gag.

Does it even make sense? Zaraki suddenly gets the sword in his hand after gaining consciousness. Anyone would think it's a genjutsu situation. Like... zaraki "spaced out" and is back to clashing swords with her. Nothing makes sense.

Yeah, he teleported out, because he isn't stupid. There were three characters that scared Aizen--Yamamoto, Urahara and Unahona--to the point that he avoided any direct conflict until his fusion with the Hogyoku was complete.
@@theprogressivecynic2407 I honestly think he wouldn't fight Yama even after he got immortality. Because from what I understand, Yama would've still been able to destroy him completely, or at least constantly turn him to dust with his overpowered bankai.
He would have still won , in the data book the author ranked the captains on a 600 scale with Yame first , Aizen second , Unohana third with 540 points and Kyoraku fourth with 530 Points. But where I agree is that Aizen isn't stupid enough to fight someone which he knew nothing of which was the case with Unohana
@@almouctaribrahimidder8800 The power scale doesn't really mean anything if it's only a few points of difference between Aizen and Unohana plus the fight could go either way because power scalling neglets other important factors for the fight, like skill, fighting experience, abilities and many other factors that aren't included in the power scales so not accurate at all.
I'm a huge fan of UFC and there have been a lot of upsets lately, a lot of underdogs winning even with all the ods against them.
Power scales shouldn't exist.

How they calling kenpachi a bitch for tearing up ?😂 that was somebody that he admired and gave him purpose and lived to beat her one day. That’s a side of kenpachi we rarely see .
One thing I noticed was that after unohana stabbed kenpachi in the neck , kenpachi spit out blood which landed on her face. After everything was reset and we see kenpachi being ok and alive, that blood was still on her face
My theory is that she did actually almost kill kenpachi . They assumed the ability was kenpachi’s for some odd reason but I think the illusion came from unohana.
Because afterwards she explained how he gets stronger on the brink of death. Isn’t the purpose of this fight to make kenpachi stronger ?
So maybe she used some healing power or something we don’t know about after she “killed” him .
