White 659 is not full rotary. The upper thread path is full rotary, but the bobbin area has an oscillating hook. Thanks so much for watching. If you haven't already, please do subscribe and tap the notification bell to receive updates.

I have a beautiful black,White All Stitch that sews beautifully! I think it’s a 641. Yes, Whites are overlooked and underrated.

You do an amazing job researching these vintage machines! My grandmother taught me to sew on her old White sewing machine. It had crinkle paint.

I really like your historical review of these machines. Very informative.

Great info. Thank you for this video. I have about 12 vintage/old sewing machines. I found the at the Goodwill for $20.00 and below. Most of them work just fine. I have a Singer RedEye in the lot. I love the older machines, but I rarely use them 😂. My primary machines are the Janome Hd9 and CM17. I love them both. ❤

12 machines. Sounds like you have just as much of a problem as I do.😂

Thanks, now I really want one too. I think you are right. This machine makes a great case for being better than the famous singer.

I have three of these, the OG Juki and two Whites. They do give a very, very tidy stitch-- but I think you'll find that the hook is actually oscillating. At least it is on all 3 of mine. The thread takeup system, however, *is* full rotary. I have NO idea why they went with the oscillating hook, as the opportunity to make a truly fully rotary machine was certainly there.
Also: Just because a machine takes a class 15 bobbin and was made in Japan does not therefore and necessarily make it a "Singer 15 clone." It isn't a clone unless it actually looks like a Class 15 Singer.

ALSO also: Your thread path is wrong. The thread crosses back through the discs after hooking around the guide on the front of the machine.

Thank you for pointing out my error with the threading of this machine. It was very difficult to illustrate how to thread, so I just omitted it. It looks like your machine is set up very similar to the Juki DDW-9A industrial. There is a video online of threading method and how the rotary system differs from a standard one here ruclips.net/video/t5V3D9pnkgs/видео.htmlsi=cvjPQOLEjOUVWsEq.
Also, class 15 machines are any machine that uses a class 15 bobbin, 15x1 needles, and an oscillating hook. This is verifiable via Ismacs. Thanks again for helping me out :-)

How is this machine in terms of performance? Can you sew heavier materials with it? Is it faster than the average 800spm vintage sewing machine?

Looks a lot like the juki HW 62 from the 1950s

Your right! It also has that upper full rotary function too which is cool. Thanks for mentioning this.

I think the notion of this machine being full rotary is not quite right. After seeing photos of the underneath it looks like a class 15 style oscillating mechanism. I believe the rotary description applies to the upper thread tension mechanism only.

Yes you are correct. its just the upper part of the machine that is full rotary. I wanted to to a follow up video because I got that wrong in the video
