Have to agree. The 2.0 V Trail seems smaller to me also. I’m an M40 in everything except the old Mocs. The 2.0 does feel smaller and harder to break in. But I do like the really grippy sole. I feel comfortable running down inclines on any type of surface with this soles.
I totally agree with you; I got 2 pairs of V-Trail 1st gen., blue and orange, and I'm using them a lot less to allow them to last. The 2nd gen. it's been a total disappointment, for me.
I agree about the V-Trail being the best shoe for running. I didn't get the 2.0 though because I didn't like the seams on the toes from the new reinforced fabric, so I switched to the V-Treks. I really really loved the V-treks, I like the outsole the best because it was firmer than the V-trails and it felt like it was more protective on rocky trails. However, because the V-treks are not designed for running, my big toe broke through the fabric after about 50 miles. So that was disappointing. Have you tried the V-treks?
What’s a good substitute for the original v trails? Looking for an everyday durable version that can do it all the same as you speak about the original v trails!
Great review. Totally agree. V-trail 1.0 were just perfect. I called them my trail running slippers. Yes the sole was softer and yeah it did hurt a bit in rocky downhills in the Alps but they were so comfy that I almost welcomed the pain😊. I've been cursing vibram since I had to replace them with 2.0. 😢 First time in 10 years of VFF that I got black big toes' nails😭 I have also an issue on the top on my right foot, too tight at the big toe's base, improved a bit after breaking them in (and stuffing a tennis ball in while at home). Can we send a petition to Vibram to bring the originals back?

I haven't tried the V-Treks but I think they're pretty similar in design to the Trek Ascents, which I've had a few of.
I have the exact same problem with my own V-Trek. It will be a perfect shoe if it's much more endurable.
According to their size chart I need a 41 do I need to Oder the exact size my foot measures? Do I need to add a half size if I wear injinji socks?

V-Trail 2.0 can be that replacement if you don't mind the designs. V-Alphas are also a good do-it-all shoe.
I’m a size 9.5 and was wondering what size should I go with the og v-trail to properly fit to my feet?
You're probably a 42 or 43. I'd try 42.
What's the difference between the man and woman shoe of the same model and size ??
I'm not 100% sure , but I think the width and instep may be different.
@@RevRunRegan, someone told me today that there is no difference except the diffent colors ???
@@NeoVdV women shoes go down smaller size yeah. i.e. 38 of women is smaller than 38 of men

When your feet get soaked during a 100, how is the blistering/drying out situation?
Vibrams dry out quickly so it's not usually a problem. I don't usually even change my shoes or socks in a 100 miler.
@@RevRunRegan Good stuff, thanks for the reply
Women in 10cm heels be like 🤷
