    My daughter and I have been long distance trail running, backpacking, hiking, training, and racing in FF's since 2012. We have quite a few vids on the channel. A little tip for the lacing. After you slide down the lock, take that extra amount of lace and twist it once. It will make a little pig-tail and lay flat on the shoe. Then stick the velcro piece to the shoe.

    • @jasparvowden
      @jasparvowden  Год назад +2

      Thanks for the tip mate! Personally I haven't had a problem with the extra bit of lace but I can see how that would come in handy during a long trail run or hike

    An amazing review! You are soo articulate, and informative :)
    I had been wondering how these shoes would do on the trail, and seldom found information online about this. Thanks to your review, I have confidence in buying these shoes now.
    Really lucky to have intelligent, and well spoken individuals like you in the community!

    Is it possible to run ultra runs in the V-run like 50k or 100k - or do you recommend altra for that?

    • @jasparvowden
      @jasparvowden  Год назад +1

      It definitely is possible, I've run a 100km in vibrams and I have a mate who did the same thing. I think it would depend on how experienced the runner is with barefoot or vibram shoes and also how strong they are over those ultra marathon distances. Personally I prefer the vibram v trail 2.0 for the longer distances because they usually involve a variety of terrain and that shoe is amazing for tackling trails

      I found the whole review helpful. I’m working on finding a comfortable footpath/ road walking shoe. At the moment I’m using the trail shoe with socks and this is helping with the jarring. Overall I just love vibram shoes because of the ground feedback that I get. This helps me to walk confidently as I’ve lost a lot of ground propitiation on my left foot due injury.

      @@jasparvowden hi 👋 Thank you so much for thinking of me. Unfortunately, this stems from a neck and spine injury. I got hit on the head with a 30kg weight, which scrunched a heap of things. I’ve made a good recovery from where I once was and I’m grateful to be walking and mobile.

    I think you could add 'Value for money' They are expensive, but I've run nearly 3,000km on my v-runs and the sole still has plenty of life left. You'd be going through 4 or 5 pairs of normal running shoes

    • @jasparvowden
      @jasparvowden  Год назад +1

      That's a great point mate! I have been thinking about that lately running in both vibrams and other cushioned shoes and the vibrams always last much longer. Will certainly bring that up in future videos. Cheers 👍

    How does this fit? I heard it fits smaller.

    • @jasparvowden
      @jasparvowden  2 года назад

      Hi Justin, thank you for your comment! Personally I find this model of Vibram is a little more difficult to put on as it seems that there is extra stitching in the first couple of toe pockets which makes it a little tighter. But once the shoe is on foot, it fits the same as other models in my experience. I hope that helps!

      Yes I agree the colour options are fairly limited but that doesn't bother me too much. I would love to see a more performance based shoe from Vibram with a little bit of extra technology as a race day shoe and also a shoe to help people transition to more minimalist footwear

I am planning to make a video of my current shoe rotation so please stay tuned for that one :D But I will use the V-Run primarily on consistent terrain such as concrete, treadmill, or track, and I also love wearing them in the gym during strength training!

      I do calf raises dead lifts and squats but not as much as I should. I fell off a roof a few years back and my foot is injured in the same area so I’m not sure what’s going on.

    My major issue is the durability. They tear and stretch out too easy. They are not worth the money in my opinion. The V-train 2.0 or original V-Train is a much better multipurpose( with the exception of water uses ) shoe that is more capable of handling daily wear and tear.

    • @jasparvowden
      @jasparvowden  Год назад

      I have found them to be very durable after many of years of running and racing in them and also putting them through some intense gym sessions. I haven't tried the V-Train model but have also heard great things so I'm sure you're correct there. I would definitely like to try it one day. I appreciate the comment! 👍
