I watched this video and kept thinking. Back during the drought we all prayed for you guys to get the rain. I think we all prayed a little too hard. 😅. Keep up the great work
I was thinking the same thing. Now I pray for Idaho with a.l their water debacle they told farmers to stop pumping from Aquafer...but the new Cobalt mine by Biden and how many other politician investors can pump 24/7
Mike. Mitchell. and family farms 10,000 acres ,south Saskatchewan, dry land farming , low yields , 5 bushel / acre yields Now he is getting rained out , but he has a crop in the ground. And praying if he gets another rain in a couple weeks. They should be able to get a 40 bushel crop
In the future, instead of praying for more rain or dryer temps….I’m just going to pray for you to get the perfect weather you will need at that moment in time. Covering all my bases. Good luck with your new lake front property. ❤
Most people don't get how the weather effects the farmer and the crops... It sucks for all of us farmers... Prayers and thoughts to everyone that is dealing with this.....
Crop shortages equals food shortages for livestock and humans. And the farmers know how to survive. Don’t know that I can say that for the majority of the mouths they feed.
Omg that is a boat load of water. I pray you are all good. The drone footage was amazing. You all rock. Good to see little dog. Praying for you all and hoping for a speedy drying up. Peace.
I got ocean front property at Sonne Farms! Sometimes drought years one gets a better production than we years. Mother Nature is always full of surprises!
We feel so bad for the farmers everywhere this year. It’s a hard go when Mother Nature cooperates let alone this happening. Cole/Brian I wish you and your family all the best this year. Stay strong!
Cole and Brian, I watched this video and my heart hurt for you guys. It made me want to cry, but I love your attitude. You can’t fix it so move on to the next task and get what you can get at harvest. Keep on keeping on!
Amazing to hear you take this so well. I know its not the first time for adversity, but it was just a few episodes ago that haying was going so well and you had high hopes for the summer. Too dry, Too wet, Too hot, Too cold. As Rosanne Rosanadana said, "Chevy, it just goes to show ya, Its always somethin!" ( Cole, if this doesn't ring a bell for you, your dad will know.)
Amid all your hard work, many days of tilling, cultivating and planting the soil, there is so much futility. So much loss. But your spirits are indomitable. You labor on because that's all that you can do. And you provide us city-born folks with an example of strength and resolute will that there will be better days ahead. Godspeed to you that it will be so!
This reminds me when my daughter bought me a ticket to come see her in Aberdeen SD. 19 years ago. The pilot went low so we could see the destruction of the rains, it looked like a gigantic quilt! Beautiful blue water outlined by trees on four sides covered such a vast area. I had heard about all the rain that got dumped in SD, but I was not prepared to see the destruction from up above, that’s a whole new level of understanding of what we cannot control. ❤
Hard to believe all this water after the drought from last year. Every year is different and things can change quickly. Hoping for the best for Sonne Farms.
The life of a farmer. Have to deal with drought conditions for a few years and then turn around and now have to deal with flooded fields and loss of crops. Drone video really showed the flooded fields. Prayers to all the farmers, especially you guys in South Dakota.
heavy rains is always a blessing in disguise. you cant always work the field when its wet as buggery but you can get to the list of chores that have been pushed down out of the way
After a great 1st cutting and planting. It's heart breaking to see the fields flooded. Thoughts and Prayers the water recedes soon and most of the seedlings survive 🙏 If it wernt for bad luck there'd be no luck at all. Hang in there.
Praying that it all resolves for the two of you and your family. My father grew up on a farm and I told him that your fields are flooded and he wisely said “Yeah that happens” ❤
I've been thinking about you and hope the rain isn't too hard on you. I have found out. I'll pray for many blessings this summer for you and the family.
As a person who grew up on a small grain farm and owned one myself, I understand how you must feel. Too bad you did not get that 8" spread over June, July and August LAST year.
That's a lot of rain, wow what a scene with those aerials, love them. I need to put a fence up around my waterer with pipe, maybe I should get out there and do it, we'll see. I hope you don't have too much loss on your crops, good luck with the hay. Thanks and I hope you have a nice day.
Holy smokes, that’s scary the amount of water you got! Weather has went crazy every where. Hope you recover well. Incredible drone footage! Keeping you all in my prayers and thank you for all your hard work, it’s truly appreciated. ❤️❤️
Dang. Farming is a tough sport. I remember those days of praying for rain, then chopping corn in the mud with one tractor ahead of another. Praying for all you flood victims and hoping for a better summer.
Its tough to see all those acres under water. I guess that is what crop insurance is for. Hopefully the weather for the remainder of this year will be favorable. Love your channel.
Wow that’s a lot of water in a short amount of time! Nice to have moisture but not all at once! Wishing you well and hope you can dry out soon. Sorry you have to deal with this mess
All that water is crazy. Hopefully have some good sub soil moisture after this. Here in central Alberta Canada we are still in a drought. We finally had a 3/4 inch rain the other day but there is still cracks in the ground. That’s the biggest rain we have had in 2 -3 years. Love your channel man I watch every video you put out keep up the good work
Thanks for an amazing amazing drone video on your flooded areas. Absolutely incredible footage!!!!!!!!!! Great job shooting the drone footage Cole. Water everywhere for sure!!!!!!!! Sorry the water has a lot of your acres flooded out. I liked your statement about that is what it is and you and dad were pressing on, nothing you could do about it. Agree with your outlook on the situation!!!!! Nice work you and dad do fence building. You build some of the finest fence work I have seen. Great!!!!!! Once again, sorry some of your acres are flooded out. Hang in there. About it for now. You and dad take care and be safe. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve PS. Lots of flooding here in Iowa. Complete towns under water. Terrible.
I have always admired your positivity in tough situations. As you stated there are others out there who have it worse, but there are those who will only complain about the bad and not be grateful for what they still have…their lives! Thank you❣️
I always check your area when I look at the weather radar. I started looking a while back hoping to see you guys were getting rain. When I saw radar screen I was wondering how much rain you guys were getting.
Praying always especially for you guys, but for all our farmers. Farming’s gonna be tuff for many, this year. Hope my comment helps with your algorithm on RUclips. Stay Safe and Well All.
Hi, yes, thank goodness it's not snow. Here in southeastern Minnesota, we have the Mississippi River, and she created today. But, they are talking another 2 inches of rain tonight - tomorrow. My basement, was finally drying out. Thoughts and prayers for you and all.
Hey I know your dad loves old John Deere tractor’s, we just got our 1960’s 4020 going. What a sold machine, we changed out all the fluids, and put in new batteries. It cranked right up, I don’t think I’ve seen my husband that happy in a long time. The tractor belonged to his grandfather which dearly loved. I’m going to buy him a new seat for it and a canopy. If you guys know a good 3 party parts place for John Deeres please let me know.
Since may 1st we have had over 15 inches of rain and it's not going to quit anytime soon, as I been keeping track of every storm, but I haven't been keeping track of the rain fall, but we got about 5 inches from last Thursday night
We are wet in east central MN, but not as wet as what you have shown in this video. It has been a tough year for us to plant and now to try and get hay done. I wish you luck out in your area, I think a lot of the mid-west is fighting the wet weather and more on the way. Best of luck to you.
Dang! Too much of a really good thing. It seems like it is almost always too much or not enough. I sure wish we could have taken about 3"-4" of what you guys got this past week. We need it bad and you got too much. The life of a farmer/rancher in a nutshell I guess. LOL
O Lord, praying for ya Cole, Brian, Jeff. Hoping the loss is minimal!!!. Funny thing about the jet ski an the lake front property. Hope all is well with ya
I’m gonna have to go back and watch a lot of videos because I not getting any notifications from your videos. I’m still subscribed but I haven’t been getting notified. I missed like 13 videos. I thought you quit making them. Glory to GOD!
Hey Cole-your “fly-over” of the countryside rivals “network coverage”! Sure is beautiful country. Oh, and chuckled on the “Russian” water! Great Video!
Think it was in 94, we got 12.5" on July 4-5... We had a 4th party at the house, remember it started raining at about 11 pm... Yep, what a mess... good luck guys!!!!
Hate y’all got the screwball pitch, but awesome to see no whining was involved…took opportunity to get other work done and make best of it👍👍👍 We sure could’ve used about 2” of that downpour here in TX….getting a little crispy down here. Keep on keepin on and enjoy the Texas Cheerleader story line.
WOW that was a surprise!! Those drone shots really showed the extent of the damage!! That is a LOT of water!! Need a lot of BIG holes to store that in for future use. You do have time for other things now but there is SO much that MUST be dont that won't now!! NOT good. Hope it drains and dries quickly. Thanks Cole, great video guys.
My part in this Sonne Farms business is to PRAY and I’ve let you down. Was so looking forward for a bumper crop this year . Maybe it’s still possible for a miracle! Me hopes so!
Feel so bad for your water damage. My daughter lives in Southern GA, and she lives by a creek which flooded her house about 6 weeks ago. She had about six inches in her whole house. They had carpet, (and especially everything on the floors in boxes, furniture, etc. Wallboard and kickplates had to be replaced. Thinking and praying for you.
I'm so sorry for all the farmers. Good that you had that great first cutting in in time (I hope you got most!) And hope all your cattle and houses are safe

I’ve been praying too, though I’ve been praying for good hay weather this year after last years was so bad ☹️
Will u get all that new growth baled. Or have to leave it for cows to eat
Mike. Mitchell. and family farms 10,000 acres ,south Saskatchewan, dry land farming , low yields , 5 bushel / acre yields
Now he is getting rained out , but he has a crop in the ground. And praying if he gets another rain in a couple weeks. They should be able to get a 40 bushel crop
SPECTACULAR drone footage! It shows the scale of flooding.
I am looking forward to Cole and Tiffany to have the next generation to teach what your dad had taught you. Love how you and your dad work.
In the future, instead of praying for more rain or dryer temps….I’m just going to pray for you to get the perfect weather you will need at that moment in time. Covering all my bases. Good luck with your new lake front property. ❤
I'm sure it will work this time 👌
God Bless all the Farmers in the World! Past, Present and Future.

So sorry for this disaster. Prayers. I admire you persistence in the challenge. Praying for all farmers and also hope cattle wasn’t harmed.
I have a suggestion that you should get a grapple like you have on the pay loader you need one for the tractor and the skidsteer

And since Cole never talked about it, I'm glad those bales didn't get flooded.
