- Finally, i got my new gaming laptop, this is Asus A555L or X555LA.
Specs
- Intel Core i5 5200U 5th Generation (Up to 2.7 GHz)
- Nvidia Geforce GT 930M (Sorry For Wrong GPU Info In The Video)
- 4GB RAM DDR3
- 500GB HDD
- Display = 1366x768 (Up to 1080p HD)
- Size = 15.6 Inch
- Windows 10 Pro
I have the exact same laptop. It’s pretty good. It does everything that I need it to do. My favorite thing is the keyboard.

I've this one, but it has many problems... Audio doesn't work anymore, sometime screen shows up strange horizontal lines. That's just a cheap-plastic notebook. 😥
Tbh, mines also is kinda damaged after 1 year of using, the plastic cover of the keyboard is loosen off, the screen's plastic coverings also loosen off, I think what asus needs to improve in their future products is the material and quality of the builds.
Did u manage to upgrade RAM MEM with a 1.5 voltage or is it mandatory to use a 1.35 (DDR3L) chip? Seems like my Corsair Vengeance 1.5v is not working on it.
I didn't change any of the RAM from the purchase of the laptop, it is DDR3 4GB and i believe the brand of the ram is whether V-GEN or Asus memory, i can't really open it cuz it has warranty seal, don't wanna lose my warranty :D
Ok. Thank you for answering. But you can open the RAM slot w/out lose the warranty. It´s the only opening on the bottom (locked with a screw.

So, A555L series is actually X555LF? Are they the same? Because I got mine marked as A555L series, but my Windows detects it as X555LF? Do you have any explanation?
Yea, they're the same, it says X555LF in the box and A555L in the laptop

@AJF So, if I want to add a new RAM, according to Asus official website that A555L can be upgraded only up to 4GB, but X555LF up to 8GB. So, what do you think?

Haries Maulana Akbar bro i have one doubt too that i saw the front screen of asus in which it names on the bottom of the screen is in bottom plastic and that plastic looses in the bottom of the front screen ... did u observrd this ...is this normal ?

Are the keys removable to clean the keyboard? Or will I break them if I take them of?
I believe that there is a membrane underneath the switches, i think it is safe to take it off and clean em' but it will maybe take lots of time and carefulness, indeed the keyboard is membrane plastic so it is not really strong, u might wanna consult with the asus salesman or visiting your local asus store for more detail. Hope it helps :)

Aren't you supposed to charge it's battery for 3 hours before using it so that you don't damage it?
Where is the fan located? I need to clean it because my laptop crashed and had a blue screen and it froze and made a loud noise. I have the same exact laptop.

It's loud and contain lots of bass but the treble is not too good but overall for the price, it's good :)

It might work in lowest settings, but it is not recommended, the recommended games are minecraft, csgo, battlefield 3, and other middle specs games. but for syndicate or unity, i think u atleast need better graphics card but the 8gb ram will come up pretty handy on playing these kinds of games :D, hope it helped

Nove Blaise Lozada To be honest it's ur personal preference, but I belive Asus's battery last longer but for processor, both of them depends on what i5 is it, i will prefer the 5200U but the Acer could work aswell. It doesn't matter what brand is it, the most important is what type is the processor
I bought the same one, but i can't open my dvd drive.. There is no button to open it.
There is a button, it is located in the right hand side, the button is located and placed in the DVD DRIVE, it is exactly placed in the middle, if it doesn't has the button then you should consult with your reseller or someone incharge for your laptop purchase. All Asus products must have a button in the DVD Drive or else your laptop is counterfeit.

It is really worth it, other laptop with this kind of specs might be $40-$50 more expensive, i have used this laptop for 4 months and so far it is really good for gaming, i am a student too, i've always use this laptop for studying or making my project at school, it is lag-less and i encourage people to buy this laptop. :) hope that answers ur question

It is normal, sometimes it's just some bug with the program but otherwise nothing will impact that much

I'm going to suggest that you buy the Asus rather than the Lenovo, i already by 2 lenovos and both of them had lag problems meanwhile i used the Asus for about 5 months and everything goes perfectly as it is suppose to be :) Hope it helps.

Oh, you can search for your local windows store there, i just want to know where do u purchase your OS, because if u purchase the OS CD on China, sometimes it's fake.
I dont have a windows store in my country and my pc was bought legally so my OS is the original, but i want that driver CD, Do you know where can i get it ?
Check for your local computer store, but make sure you buy the Windows OS New and also check the serial code for originality, other thing i will suggest you to buy the OS in a "brand new situation" as it's not used or second handed situation :)

Is it good for animators
To be honest, it's quite good but the resolution of the monitors is only 768P, I would recommend Macbook instead cuz it has a better resolution and it's just beyond perfection for animators, if you want to animate gaming objects, I would recommend the Asus ROG lineup or any MSI laptop, cuz they had more performance.

Yep, but for cs:go u need to put the settings into minimum and don't use max settings because it will drop your fps

In my experience, if u put too many data in ur laptop, it will slows down the process of ur computer, to prove it go to task manager and search for computer status and u can see how many power are used in ur computer and if u turn on ur laptop too long, it will lag games, or mybe ur processor could not handle the high-end games. Hope it helped :)
Maybe u run games with integrated graphics card go to the control panel and all programs set to nvidia
+SHADY NKO Yeah i tried it, run all my games with High Performance Nvidia Graphics, but for this kind of laptop, it didn't run games 100% smooth, some lags and fps drop might happen, if you want to buy a reasonable priced laptop with good performance, buy the Asus ROG GL552JX with Intel Core i7 4790HQ, Nvidia Geforce GTX 950M, 8GB RAM, 1tb hdd, external ssd with 156GB, 1440p, run games smoothly with the price of $900

In hypixel, i get flat 100, in some cracked servers such as guildcraft, 200Fps flat will do
When ur recording videos, ur FPS will drop a little bit if u want a good quality in ur vid so i will suggest recording in an i7 with GTX 560 to rec in 1080p 120FPS, or 50fps will do in this laptop..... i rec in my phone for this btw

Yea, beside the keyboard on the laptop, it shows A555L but in windows, it says x555lf and if u download any softwares and data, it will say X555lf instead of A555L :)
