Basically a god would mean that it created the universe because it got bored being by itself. Not because it needed to. And then we have children being born with illnesses while it gets entertained.
There is difference between to know and to believe ..To know is by logic to believe is by heart through personal experience and it is a feeling that sized you.
Ontological randomness, where every entity has a choice or "degree of freedom" not only to collapse at will into any realm but also to bend physical rules to objectively experience anything as it evolves into other universes with different sets of physical rules? Ontological randomness is the closest evidence of teleology embedding everything. It is not a God centered on us, but it includes us, and our consciousness might be a humble, tiny, micro approximation or function of its. The question of whether God had a choice is tautology at its best. God or meaning or teleology is everything at once by optimality.
Brian has written some good books and the speculative ideas in them had some merit, but after about 2004, they appeared to me as more science fiction than a speculation on the underpinning of reality.
Rational mind doesn't come from irrational nor does life from non life nor something from nothing . Universe does have a begining and an intelligent creator who created it.
@@nevinthomas3199 the "rational mind" is not some soul sitting in our brains that can overrule the laws of physics as they play out in our neurons. Our neural decision structures have no option but to follow the laws of physics as they respond to an input and also reorganize based on inputs. We have no free will and the universe does not come from some intelligent design. Everything is based on very fundamental laws that apply on all matter irrespective of whether it is inside the brain or in a lifeless rock. There is no such thing as free will. Brian green speaks about it in another 2 minute video if you search for brian green free will.
If someone asks you if you believe in god and your answer is I don’t know , THIS MEANS YOU DONT KNOW and THIS MEANS ( NO ) you don’t believe. There isn’t anything in between or any soft comfortable place to land. An agnostic is simply someone who hasn’t thought about it enough to realize that they are an atheist . It’s on the verge of being dishonest to say you don’t know something and then try to bend that answer to fit into something else. If I’m asked if I believe in Santa my answer will be NO , and this doesn’t mean that I said Santa doesn’t exist and if anyone wants to give me evidence for Santa, kool, I’m not opposed to evidence . The answer,I DON’T KNOW is what makes me an atheist . That’s being honest.
There is no evidence for a God so why is this a question? And before you respond with God exists because “the Bible says so”, 1) the Bible is a book written by humans and humans make mistakes or have collective delusions all the time, you know mob mentality. 2) of the Bible is correct then you’d have to explain all other holy books with actual evidence, and no your holy book is not an answer again you need physical evidence. 3) extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence(ie physical evidence of your god) and no your holy book does not count as “physical evidence”.
I think he may be referring to god as the collective laws of nature, not the personal god that people believe in that can intervene to answer their prayers. Either way, you can't really reason with religious people
A creator exists, and existence proves that. Now, don't get all unscientific and assume I'm what you think is religious. Try and be level-headed and just walk away and think about things more deeply. My logic here is perfect.
Are people suggesting I am God? God may have started a black woman but def ends a gay white man with egg in the face torture. Was i dodging war crimes when I was a kid and didn't even know it?
@@RAS0850 no creation doesn't prove a bored creator that decided to create the universe for itself even though it didnt need to. The eternal source could be entirely unconscious and constantly changing.
@ well yeah I mean creator isn’t I mean we don’t want to anthropomorphize it at all but you know so maybe the word creator isn’t the best but there is a source
The reason Brian allows for a God is the same reason he believes in string theory, and neither exist. Religion offers no projections which are testable, and the same can be said of string theory.
There are paintings of me in a church, it's been insinuated through an out of office email that I am the waterboy, Jesus lookalikes were allllll over JFK, Lubos Thoma & Howard Yeon & so many people want to be God, I'm praying Barack Obama loves me because I don't know what is going on and I need some guidance here and some access to information beyond what's on my phone. NYC rushed me with insinuations to commit suicide in Spring 2024, I started talking about scaphism randomly, and certain parts of my vision are emphasizing certain features, dog against the wall made me retarded and was intended to remind me that barack is so hot me makes me retarded, donna rapes everyone, and my laundry is being highlighted in my vision right now. What is this?
God had a choice. He decided String Theory was nonsense. God dangled String Theory like he dangled the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden and String theorist bite on this poisonous knowledge. More fool them.
Brian gave a well spoken and refreshingly honest answer.

If you "don't know" or think "NO" or" no evidence" it is because you have a "LIMITED CAPACITY" to put it nicely!!!
