Hi there ! There’s a mall in Sha Tin called Homesquare ,a mall with plenty of furniture and designer shops , there’s also an IKEA in it , U may go and have a look
Aeon (the big ones like in Taikoo have a furniture section, eg dinner table), A Lot Living Furniture in Kwun Tong (Japanese- Thai Furniture), Muji, Decor8 (trendier designs)
if you are willing to branch into advanced area, you can shop for furniture online at taobao and have it shipped. The key is to pay attention to weight and sizes to avoid extravagant shipping fees😅
I think my favourite part was seeing you both eat on your patio. I love seeing how you two love each other and are both so kind and supportive of one another. Wishing you much happiness as you embark on this new journey and thank you for sharing it with us!
Your videos bring me joy! It’s working out, the obstacles are a way forward to the solutions that will eventually bring you peace and you’ll know what you like and don’t! You two are just so lovely, such a gorgeous moment on the balcony!
Glad to see all the progress you guys have made, from moving into your new place, setting it up and trying new foods! Patio meals look great. Way to go for being so adaptable through the frustrations
I’m so glad to hear you finally got an apt and settling in! I’m so sorry things have been rough for y’all 😢 Looking forward to seeing how you furnish your new place! 💕
I am looking forward to seeing your apartment decor completed. You guys are Christians. What a loving sight to see you both holding hands and praying together. God bless x Aunty May from Australia
Yes! A fellow Earl Grey tea drinker! ❤ Once you've finally got your place set up you can definitely do some exploring. I posted a video of our hike through Sweet Gum Woods last weekend, beautiful if you want to see some gorgeous Autumn colours 🍁🍂
I have to give it to you guys, while I moved temporarily, may be 1-2 years, from HKG to Australia, I could not bother to do the furniture, but took a while to find a place I finally like, kind of lucky, I guess!
You may also have a look at Japan Home Centre 日本城 for home necessities. The Aeon store you went is a bit small, their Daiso flagship shop (also at Mongkok) might have more things you need. Hope you can settle fast and have a great time in HK!
I just stumbled onto your channel, and I immediately fell in love! I love Hong Kong and always felt as though it's my spiritual home since I'm chinese and can also speak cantonese. Even though I'm born in the US 😅 I can't wait to see your channel grow!
@@ethanol1586 this means so much, thank you!! I really love it here and hope to pick up Cantonese!! So far I have my numbers, how much is this, and where is the bathroom 🤣 oh and chilli oil!
It's amazing that you had accomplished so much in so little time to set up your new place. I hope you'll like the neighborhood shopping convenience and low-cost eatery experience without much cultural shock.
The neighborhood shopping experience is unbeatable! And honestly don't think we've faced much culture shock--hope to make a video talking about that in the future!
The drilling sound results from household renovation from the upper floor, which is common in Hong Kong during office hours. It will usually last for a few months.
Hi there! There’s a mall in Sha Tin called Homesquare, a mall that has a lot of furniture and designer stores , and there’s also an IKEA in it . U may go and have a look. It’s a bit far from HK Island 😅 but you can explore the New Territories
Came across your video about shifting to HK and was intrigued! Interesting videos & loved seeing how everything came together and is working out for you. Hoping for the best for you! On a side note, I don't live in HK, but I have visited a few times, one of which was last year in late 2023 - I recall the dingding trams accept VISA credit/debit cards which I used to pay. Back then they were running some promo for VISA cards giving HKD2 discount per trip. Maybe its an alternative you could explore using instead of just the octopus card the next time you run out of card value!
Lovely channel & vibe. Well done in setting up a home in HK with so limited time. I think Pricerite is more practical than Ikea. Now you've settled most of your furnitures, for small household items you may check Living Plaza (Daiso Japan)... But the way, I love the song from 13'42" but couldn't find it. Would you mind sharing the title of the song please? Thanks! Best wishes!
Thank you so much for the kind words!! Ooh it's called We'll Come Round by Louis Island--I got it from Artlist, so I'm unsure if it can just be listened to outside that. It's SO beautiful though, I want to just stream it 24/7.
You could shop online and they deliver! There are many online shopping websites in HK that offer way cheaper prices than IKEA! And delivery services are usually fast with free or cheap delivery costs

mattress and pillow highly recommended seahorse, very decent quality and price is cheap.Bus and tram can just use credit card too. Once you do the basic, definitely need to learn how to use Tabao which can save you loads of money for those small items.
@KayaMarriott definitely invest some time to navigate it, save us a lot of money. Saw you guys are praying, thinking if you guys are looking for church as well.
Definitely agreed, I bought furniture, lights, and everything else from Taobao, even though I don’t read much Chinese lol, but it saves you a bunch buying from Taobao compare to buying from HK, but you really need to look at the shop ratings though, learnt my lessons the hard way, because fr HK it’s difficult to return the goods if they are broken or damage on arrival. While the shop willingly to replace, but the shipping cost sometimes may not be worth the efforts.
Aww I'm so glad to have you along for the journey--you guys should try to visit some day 👀❤. And see that's what I THOUGHT... IKEA used to be my favourite place in the world... now... I dunno.. hahahah.
A gecko is better than a cockroach 😂 That lil guy is going to help keep your apartment free of pests. Plus it means good luck will be coming to your household when you see one at home in Chinese culture. So good luck~
On topping up the Octopus card when the balance becomes negative, this can be done automatically once you have a credit card or bank account in HK. Just ask your bank in HK.
Oh. Mong Kok computer center is empty. Don't go there. For most computer thingie, you should go to Golden Computer Center instead or purchase online. HK is a very close place compared to Canada. Enjoy the convenience of HK. I need to adapt to the slow life in Toronto right now.
Ooh this is good to know, I was so amazed by the Mong Kok one, so I'm sure I'll be blown away by the Golden Center!! Haha I'm sure Torontonians don't know what you mean by 'slow down', but I absolutely get it!
@ the spendings is far cheaper than buying in Hongkong, that’s why hongkong retail is getting stagnant. You are like finding a new wonderland from that but really needs time to explore coz some are cheap but bad😂, hope you enjoy!

@@klee1987 haha yesss we learned about that shortly after 🤣🫢
Or you add octopus to your mobile wallet and can top up anytime in your phone
