Pro to the egg shells, when you do start your plants, the egg shells are great for the soil health. Other option is to see if you can figure who is dropping them, collect them at and place them at their front door in a bag with a note.
Why do foreigners like crowded places? As someone who lives in mainland China, the traffic here is always very bad. But Hong Kong is different from the mainland.
The eggshells would have sent me into an absolute tailspin. The patio looks amazing though! So happy to see you two settle in and I hope it continues to be the adventure you imagined

I am from California, and I have moved to HK last year summer along with my 8 🐈 cats . At first my cats were not used to the 530sq ft apartment that our family rented. After one year lease we moved to a double the size apartment and my cats loved it. They all get their own personal space ❤. I love Hong Kong. There’s so much to see and explore. I hope you will enjoy HK as much as I do 😻.

not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but youll need to find some way *moth balls* to keep storage dry due to lack of sun. also, im sure a small garden is possible, but be cautious of the same mold growth, but now on your future food

Good luck. There is an expat community magazine in Hong Kong, that may be of help to you. It's been a while, but if I remember correctly May is when the French community showcase their culture while June has the Italian community showcase theirs. Last year in November, Belgium showcased theirs (I don’t know when they started doing that, as I haven't been back in HK for years). If your apartment is giving you issues, keep an eye out for housing elsewhere especially in the New Territories. Also a couple of RUclipsrs are based in HK, such as K-pop information RUclipsrl Ploopy.

@ baking soda is wonderful for cleaning! I have just bought a bulky bag on HKTVMall. Do you know this store yet? This is currently the most popular online groceries store in HK. They have actual stores as well. Very good deals after discounted

Welcome to HK! Not as good, and certainly not as free as it used to be, but still an electrifying city to call home😉 The frantic urban hustle will undoubtedly hit you hard sooner than later. And when it does, jump on a ferry and hit South Lantau Island for a solid and invigorating hike down along the coast or up the mountains!

As for the egg shells you should try to talk to your building management. If that doesn’t work you may try talk to your building’s owner corporation chairman. Though I think the person who did it might have obsessive compulsive disorder. It’s quite common in hk high stress environment.

Really shouldn't limit yourself to Ikea for furniture and household goods. Find a friend with an account to Taobao and start searching. So much of Amazon's products are sourced from Taobao, Pinduoduo, etc. Deck always seems attractive until it's summer time and 35C + humidity (not even including regular rain, black rain, & typhoons) reality hits. Paying up for a mountain or water view may be more worth it. Best of luck.

I can relate when we moved to Zurich last year we were just furniture shopping, apartment hunting and all . Like we didn’t get a chance to explore . But luckily moving to Cape Town this year the company paid to transfer all our furniture. 🪑 but we still had sooo many errands to run in the city /

You,can use taobao and get furniture etc at a fraction of the cost, i love balcony here but ppl always throw,my last place had holes in the pull out roof because of cigarettes being thrown. , have you tried the ikea in megabox yet its bigger

I wonder why you decided on that apartment. It doesn't seem to be located in a nice area with all the noises going on, the neighboors throwing trash, the front door has a security metal door (?), the patio and the view is awful 😟 I'm really sorry to point these things out since you both seem like very kind people but from other youtubers that live in HK I know that there are far better places with great views for a decent rent price.

I wonder why you decided on that apartment. It doesn't seem to be located in a nice area with all the noises going on, the neighboors throwing trash, the front door has a security metal door (?), the patio and the view is awful 😟 I'm really sorry to point these things out since you both seem like very kind people but from other youtubers that live in HK I know that there are far better places with great views for a decent rent price.
