This is luxury. When I was a Keesler in 1985 we had two people in one tiny room and a common latrine for about 20 people. No carpet and I don't remember having a fridge. The building was quite close to the flightline and you could hear the drone of the C-130s almost continuously.
I spent most of 1980 at Keesler. All the bays had a common latrine with urinals, even the ladies' latrines. Rumor was the girls planted flowers in the urinals. One of the STA's didn't care for that. He flushed them all and made them clean up the mess!
This is a dream! I was there in 1987 and got stuck there on AFI for months. 4 to a room about that size and not much storage. Shared bathrooms and showers with 20-30 other girls. No privacy. But it was still fun! It was better than basic, but nothing like this!! Even permanent party forms at Hickam were not this nice!
I was there in tech school August 86 - June 87 (ECM). Spiders, roaches and fire ants in the barracks. People puking in the latrine every weekend. They have it good now!

Your own walk in closet and your own bathroom in Tech school… how lucky, we had a shared hallway bathroom.
How did you get all that stuff there??? (The civilian clothes, shoes, make up, small suitcase etc.) Did you get the stuff mailed to you there, did you get to go home before tech school or did you get it during graduation week at BMT?
I got my stuff during graduation week my mother brought my suitcase from home with the items I had prepacked prior to leaving for BMT. Most of the civilian clothes I purchased once I got to tech school.

hey sis! i heard you mention you had aquaphor for your new tattoo, when were you able to go off base? i wanted to get a tattoo before i leave but i ended up getting in DEP so i have to wait until after BMT. i ship out august 6th (:
Congrats on shipping out in August! Thanks for watching. You are able to leave base (Keesler because every tech school is different) once you phase up to phase one. You can go off base on weekends.

What job did you get? I am leaving in 3 days and also going to keesler afb. My job is Aero space control and warning systems

Hi! I ship out July 23rd. Did you bring those civilian clothes or did you buy them? When you shipped out did you only have a carry on to take to BMT?
I brought some from home and purchased the other ones. Yes I only have a carry on.
Weird stumbling on this video. I was there in 2002 and NOTHING is different. The exact same furniture, even the curtains. I had a really great time there. Hope you did too.

Hi, were you at the 335th Connor Manor dorm? My tech school is at Keesler.
Thank you for the video!!!! I have a break in training and will only be at Keesler for a month (personnel). What should be purchased specifically for AIT? Microwave? Comforter set? Etc? I know it’s just a month so I want to come prepared have not have to buy things that could have been brought from home.
Thank you for watching. Everything in the room is AF property (furniture, appliances, linens etc.) The only things that I purchased were my civilian clothing and items (toiletries, snacks).

Unfortunately no, I didn’t get my hair braided in tech school I wore a wig or my natural hair.

What are some fun things to do in Biloxi?
Theres a few chill spots on base like the pier is pretty, theres the Lighthouse Pier (I never went in the water though), the mall. Honestly theres not much to do but theres usually something going on like an island party, carnivals, etc.

Just your average college student I thought Weathers school was longer than that. I’ve been on Keesler for 7 months now. I graduated but bc of COVID-19 I’m stuck here for awhile Bc my base is Aviano Italy 😬
@@justyouraveragecollegestud2466 It says its only that long but it's delayed a lot because of all the other tech schools that come through there for only about a month each
About to be here for 6 months for RF. I was worried it was gonna look like the shitty dorms at msu but they’re a hell of a lot bigger. MSU had nothing but the main bedroom area but like 1/3rd smaller, and that’s all the room you had to share between two people.
