Hey guys I just wanted to show you what the dorms look like here in Fort Sam Houston, TX. If you got a medical job, this is what your dorm will basically look like.

I did AF tech school for Services back in 1994. At that time the SVS tech school was at Lackland but our dorms were the old OTS dorms.

did you have any certifications or anything that got you that? my recruiter right now is saying those jobs only get given to people with certifications, true? I have a bachelors btw

was a surgery tech back in the 80s and u got no outside paperwork. i had to apply and take the test when i got out for a fee. i`m sure its different now but we had a quiz everyday and test every friday. i was a shredout into urolgy, which enabled me to work in a clinic Mon,Wed,Fri and urology surgery Tues, and thursday. 7am to 4:30pm weekends off. CAKE DUTY... benefits ...NURSES by the pound....

They'll have an opportunity to get these items on their own the first day from the Base ExChange when they arrive.

Even at my assigned base, the barracks rooms, came with sheets, pillow and blanket on the bed. Once a week sheet exchange. Towels they give you in basic training. but all of this stuff can be purchased/ or replaced/upgraded by you at the BX, Base Exchange. its like a Target store. Most guys I knew kept using their towels from basic all they way though their 4 years in service... :P Guys don't think of stuff like that. The women go buy the foofy stuff. My barracks room at my assigned base, didn't look much different from basic training. I dont think I ever saw a 'non issue' bath towel in any of my friends rooms either.

if shes just there for tech school they dont allow you to have more pieces of furniture. because they wont be there for that long anyway
