I read an article about Paire's racquet manufacturer sending him to their factory so he could see what goes into making his racquet just for him to break it. Paire said he saw all the hard work, and swore never to break a racquet again. That didn't last long lol.
He is mentally strong. He is very inconsistent, but that's something else. He fucked himself completely up vs Sonego and lost second set, but still won the match. Try put Paire in the same scenario and he would go on to lose the 3rd set 6-0 and blame the umpire for losing that match. Shapovalov just needs to get better at focussing.

I disagree, he can definitely get angry sometimes but from a lot of clips and matches I’ve seen, he just seems to get pissed at clear fair-play violations which are absurdly common these days. He is usually right to be pissed off.
Shapo is thick as a brick and Sonego was making ridiculous claims as well. Good pairing for the channel. The umpire missing marks was the cherry on top.

The Sonego one is just brutally bad. first of all the out call is right, then the umpire overrules it and gives the point directly to Shapo instead of replaying the point (the call came late but clearly influenced Sonegos shot). Where Sonego is wrong, his last shot was out.

Apparently calibration of it is trickier on clay than other surfaces. So while some broadcasts are showing it it's possible that they're showing something wrong
