    Good video. I visited the pond last summer and saw a very large stag wading around in it.

    Great video Peter! Stumbled upon this by chance (and now the rest of your videos too), after rediscovering Costicles in person the other day. I was curious about its history so I'm thankful that someone is so informed on it. Whilst it was a surprise to hear your voice, I guess it's not took surprising that you'd be the person to know about it!

    I've heard some commentators describe the restoration as a colossal waste of money and the pond as a bog which grazing livestock avoid as a result

      Money was wasted because the pond needs to be grazing by the forest stock but they are excluded by fencing. It is a type of pond which dries in the summer and fills in the winter. One day Forestry England will complete the restoration.
