    Great video. I’ve a Fiat abarth 124 spider with the 1.4 turbo so I’ll have to do this eventually. I’ve done timing belts many years ago but it not on this engine. Also a good video to familiarize folks with this engine and engine type which is in a lot of vehicles. Thanks for taking the time to record it.

    is the idea of the extra tools to hold all pistons still while you change the belt?

      Basically to make sure nothing turns by accident. Even if it does , the engine can be easily put back at top dead center. The crank tool is fairly easy and simple , however the cam tool is unecessary and alot of extra work. Marking the belt is the easiest method. You will know the marks are perfect and there is no slack. Thanks for watching.

      ​@@ststst981That's where you would get into trouble and HAVE to have use the lock set. The cam pulley is not indexed. If you loosen the cam pulley bolt, the pulley can then freespin, and you would not be able to get it back into time without locking everything down.
