      Loving your work... what kind of cat litter do you use? I tried some cheap stuff that turned to mush and I've tried Catsan but found I had to mix some bonsai soil with it..Thanks..

    I love persimmons - I think they're one of the coolest fruit trees around, and as a bonsai - what an interesting and peculiar sight to see! They're beautiful. Loved all three videos, and appreciate your commentary. My favorite pot was the curious stone shaped one, but my favorite of the trees was the last. It has incredible movement. Julian Adams is one of our local bonsai celebrities, and he's been doing presentations on princess persimmons (D. rhombifolia) here in the States. He has quite a bit of knowledge on them, so I hope that word spreads over your way, too! I was in the middle of working on my own persimmon video when this series came up, so I'm sorry if I haven't commented earlier. Wonderful, and I look forward to the update!

      Thanks for watching and taking the time to write with so much detail. NO one, to my knowledge has these trees in the UK. I think they are amazing in Autumn with no leaves and fruit on them. You, of course have them in America. Hope to do an update in six months time. Hve been very busy and will check yours out.

    Nice series!! Especially because I’ve ordered Fuyu Jiro Persimmons recently.
    I’ve also ordered Biwa/Loquat and Nanking/Cherry starter-plants too. Do you have bonsai videos for those plants too?

      Hi, Persimmons do make stunning bonsai trees, especially when they bear fruit, good luck with yours. I will be doing updates on mine either later this year or in the spring next year.
      I do have Japanese Fuji cherry trees and most are in a playlist. Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/G_NznVza7NU/видео.html

    Hello, what is the growing median use for the Bonsai again?

    • @mikbonsai
      @mikbonsai  7 лет назад

      In this video I am using low dust cat litter. It is made of soil granules fired to very high temperatures, with similar qualities to Akadama. I have been using it successfully for the last three years and now started showing it on video.

    Would this fruit eventually ?, Iv got a persimmon that I want to try and dwarf enough that it will stay in a large planter, but not wanting to go as small as a bonsai. I just want to do this for practical reasons as I know how huge the tree can get.

      Eventually these trees will fruit. I know what you mean about the size trees can get. You should be able to plant your Persimmon in a large patio planter. I have a Peach and a pear trees in planters, both fruit, take very little space and all the fruit is picked. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Thanks for the advice, I'm trying to collect obscure fruit trees that I can keep small enough to grow in the greenhouse or house. I really like lychees, but am having a hard time finding anywhere in the UK that sells cutting grown plants. As they can take 10-25 years to fruit from seed. Apparently they grow quite well indoors.

      I did grow Lychees from seeds taken from fruit purchased from supermarket. In the summer months I used to take them out and the got cold and died very slowly. You can grow them from seed. I have one or two videos of Lychees grown from seeds.
      If you are after fruit trees and want to keep them small, then you should grow Quince, Cherry, crab apple trees, I have all of these and they are wonderful when in flower and again when they bear fruit. Loads of videos on these on my channel. You can do so much more with the green house !
      Let me know how you get on with your fruit trees.
      Regards

    Hi Iqbal,nice little tree.......( where did you get the little trowel) ......what cat litter are you using?🌴

    • @mikbonsai
      @mikbonsai  7 лет назад

      Hi Gary, the trowel was a set of three, Cannot remember the seller's name, but it searched on line and found them and bought two, price wise I think around £4/5 each. Email me and I will send you a link. RUclips are funny about promoting a product on here as my videos are monetised. email me: info@mikbonsai.co.uk. I don't have access to this email until I return to work on Tuesday and will reply then with the link and the price.
