Hello Nigel, Wasn't well in 2018, much better now. Disposed of my practice in Dec 2018 and finished my earn out dec 2019. The process was very stressful. Took a three week trip to Hawaii and returned recently. Now having issues with finances due to the present state of the world economy, battling to stabilise, proving challenging due to the companies being in lock down. Trees have not been worked on in this time. Hope to get back to tending to them apart from just watering and feeding. Stay safe Nigel. Best wishes IK

Wow! How did you know I terribly needed this wonderful tutorial😊You have styled it amazingly. You explained very nicely.I was just going to spoil my two trees. Monsoon is the season in India, when we can grow, cut, chop, prune, plant n repot our plants without any worries. Trees don't obey us and go on growing. Plants really look beautiful N lush green these days.So I have planted some cuttings. Hope you are doing well. Warm regards.
Just found your channel, watched your oak video. Had my oak a few years now but it’s been in a bonsai pot and obviously the trunk is not thick enough so saw your advice to put the oak in the ground and will do so tomorrow. Thanks and hope you can make new videos soon. Subscribed.

Hi Geoffery, Thank you for your very positive feed back. Will continue with close camera work, I did think it was important for viewers to see the detail. Hi Iqbal,I enjoy watching your Bonsai videos as you make it very easy to fallow. The Fuji Cherry are not a great subject because of dieback. The work you did on that cherry you have turned it into a weeping tree or will it develop into a proper apex over time ?.
My apologies for the late response, I had been of YT for six years, I was ill and then withing months of that my son who was 27 passed away. I am not back and making bonsai videos for my channel. The die back happens due to the trees being exposed to high winds over winter months. If they are placed in a procted area, out of a wind tunnel, then the die back is very minor. The hard wiring on this tree was done as, when the wires are removed, the branches bounce back to some extent. These trees are fast growers and the apex would develop. This tree has since been sold. I trust all is well with you and look forward to your comments and feed back in the future.

Hello Mr. Khan, I hope u r OK. Could you make some comments about watering this time of the year (beginning of Autumn) with rainy days? Greetings to woulchak. Thx u.
Hi Paolo, I tend not to water the trees when its rained. After that keep checking and only water when the soil is drying out. Asme applies to winter. Due to wet weather the trees need less watering, but always keep an eye on the soil wetness as even in winter if it doesn't rain, the soil does dry out and needs watering. I hope that helps. Hi Iqbal! Thanks for sharing. I watched this video twice because I was distracted the first time, and the second time I skipped around. So I don’t know if I missed anything. Sorry if you’ve already mentioned this in the video, but when is the best time to wire bonsai? Thanks. =) I wish I had that kind of cherry tree. I only have the fruit tree kind and I don’t think the flowers are as impressive. They only have 5 petals and they are white, not pink.
Hello RH, the ideal time to wire is at the start of winter when the trees are in dormancy. Any other time is risky and you will need to keep checking the branches and at the first sign of wire marks the wires ought to be removed to prevent severe wire marks on the branches. I actually want to grow a fruit cherry tree, I think they are pretty cool when the flowers develop into fruit and I enjoy looking at the miniature trees with fruit. I have apple and quince bonsai trees with produce fruit after flowering. You ought to get that fruiting tree into shape and it could be stunning when the cherries are hanging from it and when they start to ripen. Don't see many of these at bonsai shows. Cheers RH

After planting them, water thoroughly and place the pots in shallow trays of water. Keep an eye on the water in the shallow tray and top up the water as it reduces. The Willow trees in nature tend to grow near streams and rivers and their roots are happiest when they are in contact with water. I suspect that is the step you are missing. Good luck.
