  • Thanks for following along with this video series. Seventeen video segments, really? I hope you've enjoyed them. This is such a great little original car. It's a very sweet machine. It's been a lot of work to get to this point, but, now seemingly worth it. Just goes to show what a little luck transpires when a forgotten, languishing, old car goes from collecting dust sitting in a corner, transforming to useable transportation and making people smile. What a hoot !

That is GREAT! What fun to see it going! You should see if you can get it on Jay Leno's Garage. He's done some interesting cars, but never an Isetta, and he likes cars that are original, not restored. "Let's see how this runs on the freeway!"

No need to apologize for the appearance, it looks great as it is. Nice job.

Next month, in Switzerland there will be for sale an electric copy of the Isetta, called "Microlino". It comes with a 18 kW electric motor and two options of batteries. It even has a trunk of 300 liters! It is build by tazzani, an Italian manufacturer of small vehicles. And it's really a complete copy, just a little bigger.

You must have put a lot of time in getting that restored or at least so far. What a fantastic little machine and with the way gas prices are must be really nice to have around. I have a 94 Geo Metro 2 door hatchback, but that things like a Cadillac compared to your Isetta 300.

I love it. You've done great work on it. And for what it's worth, I'd leave it in original paint.

Decades ago, on an occasion I replaced the points ( it used two sets) on a Yamaha 350 I owned it then ran poorly. I could not believe it but one of the new sets of points had an intermittent short. Brand new set, looked good, but had a little arching going on in dim light. I would have gone nuts looking for a bad wire, if the problem had not shown up with the installation of the new part.

Looking good! What a great little car. It's amazing the number of details in restoration of even the smallest cars. Could you tell any subtle difference due to the straightened driveline? Perhaps better coasting?

How is it with the driveline relocated? With that little power, less drag should be really felt. She is a sweet machine. I hope you give her a nice, distinctive horn. I think I saw light through the front (nose) vents. Congrats!!!

Looks great! I'm proud of you...I had a VW when I was a kid that had a hot seat. someone put a 2x4 under the battery and the spring shorted out the battery..
