    the tip about using your feet to get the wheel chuck in between the tires is a must for me LOL

    We use wedges on our 28’ trailer. For two years, I have not been satisfied as the trailer has a fair bit of movement. I have always blamed it on the stabilizer jacks not being strong enough. Though, now I’m thinking I need to upgrade and get some X chocks. Great video Dwayne. Thanks for sharing.

    LOL excellent opening, had us hooked 😂We could not agree more, the X-Chocks have been one of the best investments for us in the RV. We also really enjoy our Viair which has been a life saver for maintaining tire pressures. My wife and I are full time RV Travel Nurses and we just started a channel as well for RV Living. Glad to have stumbled upon your channel, you have our support in your adventures. We will be following you #subscribed - Kyle and Renee

    Great video. We like the tip to use X-Chocks on both sides of the RV. We have been stabilizing with X-Chocks on just one side but may just start stabilizing on both sides. Thanks for sharing. We are glad we found your channel. Subscribed and looking forward to more adventures with you guys!

    Hi I have a single axle Airstream, I made wooden chocks and I have stabilizer jacks I purchased from vintage trailer supply . If I want it really stable I fill the fresh water tank for weight , I enjoyed the video thanks for sharing

      Thanks for watching! It’s always fun to improvise and build our own things when possible. That’s a good tip on the water tank, a lot of weight nice and low in the centre of gravity!

    How do you adjust the x chocks? Meaning how do widen them out if they're not out far enough between the 2 tires? Great video. Just got a set for Christmas so I'm anxious to use them

    • @LifeonOURtime
      @LifeonOURtime  3 года назад

      Just keep cranking on the bolt and they will eventually open up. Once you’ve got them out far enough to fit, you can loosen and tighten just enough to install and remove.

    We have considered these in the past. i think they are a great idea. Your video makes me want to explore this some more. Maybe if I get a set from Amazon I could return them if I did not like them

    Do these actually work on wide axle set ups? Thinking about getting these but It doesn’t look like they don’t do as much on the wide axles.

  • @cndgb233
    @cndgb233 3 года назад +1

    Would you know what the space/distance between your tires measures. We have wide stance axles on our trailer and when I measure tire to tire it is 17.25" space between them. The x-tend fit X-chocks say max 17" opening so not sure if it will fit. We have used the regular x-chocks on our previous trailer and the work great but that had standard spread axles so one I have will not work.

      I don’t off the top of my head. The trailer and x-chocks are in storage. I’ll see if I can find record of the specific ones I got. These still have room to expand more.

      @@LifeonOURtime Thanks for the reply. No problem, I will see if the local dealer has them in stock and if they will let me fit test and return if they don't work.

    I was looking through my comments and found yours. If you're like me, you're sheltering in place and not traveling in your RV. I hope you had a great Christmas! 🎅🎄⛄

    If the X chocks are installed, do they need to be removed before jacking up our Airstream to hitch up?

    • @LifeonOURtime
      @LifeonOURtime  3 года назад +1

      I typically remove mine before jacking up or dropping down.
