I remember the beautiful processions in the 1980s in co Tipperary. All gone. Girls strewing rose petals, holy pictures on doorsteps and flowers in vases. Devotion. We have a sterilised quasi protestant church now.
Thank you, Father. I always look forward to seeing your channel pop up! I just heard a new thought, for me at least, about the body of Christ. A newly ordained priest of the Fraternity of Verbum Spei shared this with us last night. He said in paraphrase that the body of Christ is not like any other food, but one way in which it is like other food is that we must eat it ourselves. No one else can eat it for us! I’m praying that more Catholics come back to the table of God and taste His divine goodness for themselves.
Thank you, Fr .for enabling us to meditate more deeply on the Body and Blood of Christ. May the Holy Spirit continue to direct ,guide, and enlighten us all .Amen .
Our parish hasn't had a Corpus Christi procession since pre Covid, sadly. Excellent podcast Father. Yes, Corpus Christi is a fact that is mind boggling when you try to conceptualise what is an article of faith. Only an all powerful God could be present in every single host throughout Time and throughout every location
My family and I attended our local small one in Ballymacoda East Cork. Small, simple, but sincere, and consisting of true believers. Some I attended in the past were bigger, but with less meaning and sincerity. If anything the shrinking of the church here is the jettisoning of the chaff. The busy class attaining social clout through attendance at mass etc, to go home and not practice the faith in their daily lives. It will shrink to a core of strong faithful, from there it will grow again, by attracting new followers through simply serving as contrast to the social and spiritual decay around them. Thanks as always Brendan!
Really moving talk Fr. Brendan, thanks you. I always say that our God, Jesus Christ is a mad God. Why? Because he is madly in love with each and every one of us as if you or I were the only person in existence! It is so personnel. When I receive Him in Holy Communion, I feel He is here only for me and so the same for everyone else who receives Him in a state of grace. What unimaginable love!
It was an absolute delight to listen to you in Knock last Saturday, seeing you there did my heart good. Your talk here revives great memories. They say you should never meet your heroes and maybe it is good advice but it does not hold when it comes to your good self. You are always a pleasure to listen to so thank you! Keep the videos coming.
Thank you Father Brendan I attended a Corpus Christi procession in Rathnew Co Wicklow on Sunday last.A lovely occasion. Very well attended. Very few left in the County. Thank God it’s still celebrated Deo gratias
What are you talking about Father? The Irish had a culture etc etc whilst the English were swinging from the branches. Brilliant chat God bless and save you
Starting my Chemo tomorrow please pray that I get healing

In Cork the Procession for this Incredible Feast was brought forward a week, to facilitate a secular run. Lord have Mercy.
Viva Cristo Rey

Good video
That was so great. I’m very touched by that sermon.
I’m 46 I can just about remember the last 1 or 2 corpus christi processions , the holy pictures in windows etc , very sad it doesn’t happen now 😢
.and yet it remains so tangible. Like blessed Willie we too have to work behind enemy lines. That makes us recusants just like our heros of old.😇
excellent comments again from the Padre ! we cannot hear enough of the Lord's Presence.

A shame you didn't stay ahead...or even level.
