I can confirm that this build is the best damage but with a few alterations. The dolar amarus dagger in the off hand and the vicious shortbow as ranged. Keep the crimson mischief as main hand and get the craterfish gloves with the extra force damage on crit which works exactly like the crimson mischief's extra damage mechanic. The resulting damage is extreme, if you crit. The dolor amarus weapons give you plus 7 damage each on all of your attacks. Mind that it's not an extra 1d7 die, it's plus 7 per weapon flat. I once did 256 damage with one hit, not turn.
Thank you for actual showing of the build being used. I made one and i never could figure out why the archery version was considered so good when it would always miss. This actually helped seeing what i was doing wrong :)))
Nice guide, especially the gear section. I’ve recently fallen in love with dual wield crit builds and I think you covered this well. I haven’t found anything that can beat the classic 10/2 smite swords bard yet bc savage attacker + smites with both weapons just hits so hard. Next playthrough I’ll give the pure gloom assassin another go now that I’ve gotten a better hang of the gear.
It there is a options - going fighter 6/ranger 3/rogue 3 or ranger 5/rogue 7. First will give you optimal mix for playing with party, second is perfect if you playing solo or using your character as scout and for hit and run tactics. Both is mostly using ranged weapons, first is double crossbow user, second is bowman. If you are playing evil campaign, you have access to armour with aura of murder and spear of evening and by using it your frontliner(full 11-12 level fighter is a best) will become best support for your ranged character and will be dealing enormous damage as well(spears deal piercing damage, so double damage on any attack). For enemies resisting piercing, use gloves that allows you to ignore resistance. Last thing - best bow in the game is titanstring bow. Nothing can beat it damage (yes, use elixirs or club).
One tip to get this build even stronger. Instead of level 4 in Rogue, you can pick 1 level in Great Old One Warlock. Yes, you will lose a feat, but as you're already doing lots of critical hits, you will be able to cause fear to many enemies. Plus it gives you more spell slots for Ranger abilities and Eldrich Blast option to deal with physical resistant enemies.
Add Old great ones warlock with dark vision (or not depending on your play style) And have them be parilised with fear... I call it the batman build and don't be surpized if yellow lantern ring shows up and recutes you.
Wait…. Wouldn’t it be better if you just went 11 fighter, 1 rogue? Cause you get more feats, and get 3 attack with each action meaning you can use more consumable arrows.
@@Camel75749Yeah but a hasted 11 fighter with action surge gets 9 attacks. If you put a level into war cleric you get 10. And if you're running bloodlust elixir that's even more. The assassin dip just isn't worth it.

Assassin is only really worth using in honor mode where you don't get the actions replenish from starting cb out of vision. That being said asterian actually is a better fit for this built if you asend. It's near impossible to beat the free 1d10 damage per attack on anything multi attacking. Otherwise druegar get free unlimited invisibility which is nice for starting cd with supprise if you are going assassin. Dark gnomes have the best racial features in the game and between the advantage on half their saving throws, advantage on stealth and pass without a trace you can damn near run circles around people without being seen. They can also get a +2 to dex via the gnome gloves in act three. That being said if you are going assassin orks are a very strong pick due to the 1d6 on crits. Otherwise the strange conduit ring found in the gith cresh is good if your going to be running pass without a trace or some other concentration spell. As it gives 1d4 on hit. There is a crit helm in act two under the last light in. You access it though a false wall in the jail. The ring of protection or the risky ring are both great additions to most builds. In act two you can get the render of mind and body which gives 1d8 on attacks with advantage And The sword of life stealing which does an additional 10 damage on crits and gives you ten bonus health. In act one brood mothers revenge is easy to proc on asterian from bite and gives 1d6 poison damage on hit. If you don't go gnome you can get advantage wis, int, and char save with the fey necklace in act 3. Finally you can use the belem scim in act three which allows you to do main hand attacks using bonus actions once per turn allowing you to wield a shild for an addional 2-4 ac depending on the shield. thank you for attending my ted talk.
Fun fact about brood mothers revenge you can get it’s 1d-6 poison damage add on at full health just rip a potion of healing whenever and you can upkeep that extra damage :))
I'd say assassin is worth tons more than that if you can figure out the surprise mechancs. Once you realize how much dmage you can do with crits, 100% crit build kinda becomes priceless.
@tetefather it can be priceless. The problem is for most of the significant fights you are dropped into them after a cutscene. So the fight where I really want to get a fully loaded 8 attacks you don't get a supprise round unless you cheese it. I know sin tee is a fantastic youtuber if you wana to see one round boss killing. But I limit myself so that I'm not using invisibility cheesing and the like. That being said assassin is great in normal fights if you don't mind cutting the cutscenes and it gets better the later into the game you go as you can get more attacks. But most the game thief is simply better for the extra attack. Many bosses in honor mode also have alert.
@@logan9042 Was wondering about the surprise/cutscene problem too. So im assuming its better to go thief, if you dont want to play with the surprise mechanic?.

5 (4) thief, 5 gloom stalker, 2 (3) fighter. Best of both worlds melee and ranged by 2nd feat. Go for Crimson Mischief + bhaalist armour as soon as possible I soloed orin at lvl 11 with this setup on honour mode (without haste potion too) use hand crossbows only when you cannot get close to enemy anymore. For Critical hits chose assassin and duergar to use infinite invisibility to surprise enemy but by act 3 if you have lvl 9 bard 3 thief in party then have them cast hold person/ monster for 100% to crit for honour mode I prefer to start with Rogue for charisma skills like rogue 1 then gloom stalker 5 for first 6 lvls, You should deal about 100ish critical hit dmg wit this build in cat 3. Dark Urge or Astarion works good for this build.
This is very close to mg build sorta i went 4 thief 4 gloomstalker 4 warlock pact of the blade the old one . I did warlock for devil sight and eldrich bkast cuz i use a piece of gear that after a cantril use reaction for a weapon attack plus i did same for dex but itool mine to 22 and did two weapon fighting and dual weild and savage attacker and use about the same gear mountian blade plus the bow that gives -1 for crit plus helmet with -1 crit and i use armor of agility aand displacement cloak wich is sick with my 25 AC never get hit plus gear bonus for attacking from hiding and for attacming enemies that are abscured

For Critical hits chose assassin and duergar to use infinite invisibility to surprise enemy but by act 3 if you have lvl 9 bard 3 thief in party then have them cast hold person/ monster for 100% to crit
for honour mode I prefer to start with Rogue for charisma skills like rogue 1 then gloom stalker 5 for first 6 lvls, You should deal about 100ish critical hit dmg wit this build in cat 3. Dark Urge or Astarion works good for this build.
That 5th level in rogue feels like a waist compared to 4th level fighter getting another feat
the best way to play the game is how you want to. not just the dark urge.
Oh and use baldar helmet sometimes for AC and healing .
Oh and use orins blade
😮 so original 😮
Feels like draegar fit this really well.
Keep seeing focus on invis, natural for draegar. As for misty step, isnt that a doomstalker spell?
Hurr durr dey/dem
