    My right leg hasn't straightened in five years, the X ray suggested uneven wear of the cartilage prevents it from straightening. The consultants suggesting that I wait until it's so bad that they replace the knee doesn't exactly fill full of glee, now I'm getting sciatic pain probably due my body attempting to compensate through walking in an unnatural way.
    I have tried all these exercises and stretches but I guess there is only so much you can do when an injury has progressed like this, the one thing that really helps is cycling, I can knock out forty miles every consecutive day and feel no pain or discomfort . Because I can do this it put me off going for knee replacement, I don't feel lucky so I can imagine after the operation being worse off . They one thing someone told me to do was get a scan and see if Arthroscopy would be sufficient rather than a new knee but I'm not sure about the success rates.
    It all went pair shape when I hit sixty two and my knee just went without any prior warning, one day it was straight and I could run seven minute miles for six miles and the next day it was bent and that ended my running forever. Even walking now has become a misery as it just aggravates my Glutes and my Biceps Femoris due to the way I have to walk all because of this knee. Anyway thanks to cycling plus the above program and all your other exercise this keeps me relatively fit but for how much longer is what concerns me?

    My knees are so bad now I’ve had to stop doing good exercises that helped tone my legs. I was once super fit and now I’m down to just walking & gentle moving exercises just to ease the arthritis and fatigue fibromyalgia bad knees off the latter and 22yrs of running. I’ve got abs pain off adhesions off hysterectomy operation in 2011. My exercises ground to nothing now 😢

      I can empathize. It's hard not to feel depressed. Definitely hard to reconcile. Not to be presumtuous as I don't really know your current situation but for me the thing that's great about exercise is that there's always something you can do. It may not be what you're used to and may need adjustments but I do find that there's always something I can manage to do. 🌹

    Does these exercises help for patella that's mistracking medially? I am still in my thirties but I can't even wear any leggings, tights, thermals, straight fit pants because it hurts a lot and I am so confused about what exercises I can perform or which ones are detrimental to my knees. I have this pain for 6 years now and I have tried yoga, physiotherapy and lots of exercises but nothing seems to be working.

      @@drkristieennis I did bridges, single leg bridges, side leg raises, squats, lunges on my physiotherapist recommendation in first part of.2021. It worked a little bit but then I got diagnosed with cancer and after treatment my knees are the worst. Before I saw this physiotherapist I excercised more vigorously, did yoga, did many streches and excercises I found online but that caused swelling and pain. My physio told me not to do anything with an inward movement like clamshells.
      Nowadays I am doing bridges with ball, wall sit (only half), monster walk, step ups, side leg raises. I also do lunges and side lunges but can't do it completely as it cause pain afterwards. Are these excetcises addressing outside hip muscles? I used to do self massage before getting sick but not anymore.

    2 months prior to taking Levofloxacin, I was a vibrant active STRONG woman who could run jump, lunge, squat, lift heavy ect. Now I can barely sit down and stand up. Now I can barely add resistance to my spin bike . Now I have no choice than to do granny exercises and refrain all my energy and mindset that has always encouraged me to go beyond my limits.😓 Depression is an understatement. I am BEYOND depressed.

    The best thing you cando for your knees is to buy some arch supports. A lot of knee problems are because your arch starts falling in causing wear on joints.

    • @drkristieennis
      @drkristieennis  3 года назад

      That can certainly be true:) make sure to get this checked before putting anything in the sometimes. Sometimes people have high arches or a collapsing arch due to hip weakness.

    • @drkristieennis
      @drkristieennis  5 лет назад +1

      Sure:) the hip swing side to side targets ab/adductors, the leg swing forward is hamstring loosening, the hip circles work most of the hip muscles and abdominal muscles, and the last exercises address glute medius and maximus.
