Happy that you enjoyed this tutorial and this project has such beautiful fabrics! Tammy is an awesome instructor! Thank you for your support and comment! 😊 - Abby
I had no idea a bias tape maker even existed !!! Wow! I just ordered a set and can’t wait for its arrival . I came here to try to figure out how to put my old tree skirt back together after a mishap in the wash and I ended up learning so much more than I anticipated. Great video , great explanations. I will be back !!
Fantastic Christmas Tree skirt! I actually are going to make this project. Thank you for providing the helpful shopping list Shabby Fabrics, it is the ideal perfect and quick project that I need so I can make this pattern for a friends Christmas tree. She won't get it for this Christmas due to our postage changes in Australia I am going to try! But she will get it a little late and even perhaps in the New Year 2024! But mostly she will get this lovely project for her Christmas Tree for future years to come. Wishing you all at Shabby Fabric's a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year for 2024. Thank you once again. Julie. 💖💖💖💖💖💖🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Glad that you love this project and that we were able to help you! She will love it! Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you for your lovely comment! ❤️🎄 - Abby
I have this pattern! I just need a visual way to make it! I have the fabric. The only thing I would change is fully cover the batting but still use the cutting. With the left over batting, I’ll use it to make other things with it like mug rugs to match!
I ordered one of your jelly rolls to make this tree skirt and this is my first time working with a jelly roll. Just re-watched this video and I am wondering if one jelly roll is enough to do an entire tree skirt?
Hi Lucille - According to the pattern, one jelly roll should be enough, but you'll need some extra yardage for the backing & connecting fabrics: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/651/ -Michelle
The download is free n about half the way down the information list... look for green box n then a few more down the hole template... Thank You very much for the project info !!! Merry Christmas !!!
Happy that you love this project! It would look so good under your tree! Here is the link to the download: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/651/how-to-make-the-christmas-night-tree-skirt Hope this helps! - Abby
Great tutorial. Thank You very much. Just one question, why do you use the dash line on the ruler to cut the 30 degree angle instead of the edge of the ruler?
Hi Carmen - I don't think I quite understand your question. Can you please tell me which part of the video (or timestamp) you're referring to? -Michelle
Hi Carmen - This ruler is designed with a quarter-inch seam allowance on all sides. By measuring the inside with the dashed line, and matching the inside dashed lines, you're "erasing" the added quarter-in on both sides (it would add an unneccesary 1/2 inch inside of the triangle. Hope this makes sense :) -Michelle
I love this video and love Tammy she give vary could instructions, do you use bisa binding or just the regular binding. Thank you for this beautiful chrismast project
This is such a great project! Happy that you love it! We used the Creative Grids Half 60 ruler and in the video, Tammy lined up the seam allowance on the points of the squares then flipped the ruler over and did the same thing. So yes, you can use a 60-degree ruler! Make sure to draw the lines with a FriXion pen before cutting anything. Hope this helps! - Abby
Hi Elizabeth -You will need to cut a 60 degree angle on each wedge. We would recommend cutting a circle out of paper and folding it into sixths. Use that for a template. Hope this helps! -Michelle
Made this and was surprised how easily it went together except for attaching the binding to the out edges. Was hoping that was shown in the video but wasn't. Update: I can't figure out how to add the photo.
I just looked at Shabby Fabric's for the pattern? I am in Australia and being a pensioner I cannot afford to ship the fabrics to me. But I am wondering if I can get the listing of the pattern instead? I am willing to even pay for it. Are you willing to help? Or do I have to guess at how much fabric is needed and make my own pattern up. I would like to do the right thing here. Are you willing to help???? Julie 💖💖💖
Hi Julie - We’re so glad you enjoy this beautiful pattern! You can find the Free Download for it here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/651 Thanks for watching 😍 -Michelle
The fabric requirements can be found on the Free Download here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/651 It looks like you'll need 24 JR strips, 3yds fabric & 2yd fusible fleece. Hope this helps! -Michelle
Hi Mary - You can use the Quilt Planning Diagram included with the pattern to map out where you'd like your fabrics to lay. Getting all of the strips to match up may be a bit difficult if you're working with a jelly roll, but you could do it if you're using just yardage. Hope this makes sense! www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/651 -Michelle

I really need tutorial on how to put binding around the star shape and the center circle of the Christmas Night tree skirt. The video for the tree skirt didn't go into that, it just briefly ran through that part. I understand how to bi d a regular square or rectangle, but not this specific project. I will keep searching.
You can find all of the fabric measurements for this tree skirt on the Free Download, available here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/651 -Michelle

I am struggling with the strip instructions. 😢 The cutting instructions on pg 2 for the 2 1/2 strips has 9 rectangle cuts, but there are 16 rectangles required for one section of the skirt. This doesn't line up at all with the Step 4 instructions on pg 3. I received my jelly roll today and was so excited to get started on this project, but now I'm afraid to start cutting because of the poor instructions. I'm not even sure if one 36 strip jelly roll will be enough!
Hi Kelly - You are making 6 wedges, and you are cutting 12 rectangles of each size listed on page 2. You are using 2 rectangles of each size per wedge, so you have plenty of rectangles. If you want more choices of fabric, you can easily use another 6 strips to cut additional rectangles from. We made the sample using one Strip Roll, 1 yard of binding, and 2 yards of backing. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
