My parents Dave and Cordelia Roehrig was friends with Ted. The painting of the Apache Squaw and a blonde headed baby in a blue cradleboard was of my mother and brother.
The people calling the foundation, claiming to have them? If they had them, they would have sent proof to the foundation. Not just ask to be paid for them.
An old artist's saying about their work... "It ain't worth a shit until it sells." ...and that certainly applies to Ted DeGrazia's work! The BS worth of his work died the day he did. Don't waste your time looking for it as it really is fire tinder.
When artists die, music or otherwise, the value of their work goes up. I hope to find one of the plastic tubes with his paintings rolled up in them. Something else to keep an eye out for when hiking in the superstitions...
dad moved us out here when i was four in 69 , to me out to the superstitions just to hike around , ill be dammed crazy ass prospectors shooting at us to stay away from there claim , oh ya wright , dad with his four year old no mining equipment at all sure the crazy thing my dad shot back ! lol the guy ran with his mule , even at four i was like WTF! WHAT IS THIS MAKING A WESTERN MOVIE OK WERES JOHN WAYNE IN THIS SCENE!
This is all bullshit. I went to school at Flowing Wells, in Tucson and Nick DeGrazia was my friend and the son of Ted DeGrazia. Nick was an artist and we were in the same art class. He drew and painted exactly like his dad. We drove the art teacher crazy as we were always drawing horses and Indians and rodeo pictures. Nick and I also boxed and beat the crap out of each other. Ted would not hide his art in the Superstitions. Nick has passed away and he and his dad both are missed. This was in the 50's

He could of took up empty tubes as a sick joke and burned them out of sight in 15 min.
Very interesting story, I love it
Since he's deceased, his artwork is worth a lot more. Now we have something else to look for in the superstitions besides the dutchman's gold...
The government said he was a millionaire on paper because he had originals
