    Just finished watching all the episodes of Mysteries of the Superstition Mountains. Loved them! The history, and mysteries, are fascinating. Well told.

      Thanks, Tracey, but wait until you see what is coming up as the Fall progresses. We're going to show that the characters of the folk lore of the Superstition Mountains go far beyond the Peraltas or Jacob Waltz. The mountain(s) have a mystery about it that is absolutely amazing and can drive people to do unspeakable things. The bagpipes, the men in Camouflage, the deaths, Celeste Jones, Al Morrow, Ed Piper...the Black Legion. People are still skittish to talk about some of these things, but we will approach it realistically and soundly without hyperbole.

    Extreme places like the Superstition Mountains seem to attract extreme characters? Alaska has its fair share too.

    I think I first came across the Lost Dutchman's mine some fifty years ago, in an American pulp magazine called 'Western Treasures' - those tales have fascinated me ever since. (I'm English, incidentally) Uh, what became of the two ranch hands who took Ruth into the hills? Did they just disappear too? From what I've read of US law enforcement in similar situations, 'suicide' means either 'we can't be bothered to look any longer', or that someone - or several someones in the law department have something to hide. (Forgive me, if I'm doing the local county mounties an injustice.) Whoever was responsible for those convenient 'suicides' is likely to be long dead themselves by now.

      I lived 8n Nevada 17 years, only returning to Dixie out of a health issue and lack of alternatives at the time. I'm better now and Arizona has been on my radar screen for potential relocation and a desirable environment. Sedona was the location I have been considering.

    I have never wondered about, or questioned the exit wound to the right rear of Adolph Ruth's skull--its exactly what one would expect from a .45 Colt Long. But, not so, with the entrance wound, on the left side of his skull. The size of that hole, does not indicate a projectile alone. Whoever shot Ruth, was up close, and personal. It must have been someone he knew, and trusted to that degree--who could get close enough to him, to place the muzzle of his pistol, right against the skull. If my theory is correct, it would be a very simple matter to prove, in a modern day forensic laboratory. There would still be powder particles, embedded in that part of the skull. Clearly, the two cowboys did not kill him right away. No doubt, their plan, was to clandestinely monitor his movement, and activities for awhile, with a view to murdering him, once it appeared that Ruth had found his objective. At this point, they moved in for the kill. Their pretext for being there, would ostensibly be to check on his well-being--until they could close the space between them--at which point they each grabbed an arm, and began demanding the map(s). Whether accidentally, or intentionally--the pistol was discharged, with the muzzle of the pistol, hard against the skull. Just One More Mystery Of The Superstition Mountains-SOLVED! No thanks necessary, it was my pleasure! Haha

    If it WAS a ricochet the bullet would have deformed significantly if it bounced off a rock, and began to tumble. Meaning the entry wound would seem as though it was a larger caliber than that which was fired.

    • @adamkoch3424
      @adamkoch3424 4 года назад +1

      Even mushroomed out, a 22 would not have been capable of making a hole the size of a large caliber.

    I would say for the last 20 years I have looked at these photo and something was wrong and I never could put my finger on what it was till now ...see where the hip bone is . and his gun is at his waste line where it should be . but then look closer . do you see it ... I am a real perfectionist and I mist it for over 20 years and it was right in front of me ...look where his faults teeth are , now do you see it .. his top plate are right above his bottom plate where they would be normally , but they are not up where his head would have been ...see if a animal found the skull after a few weeks the teeth would be up where his head should be ,, they are not ,sorry but his head would have had to have been by his waste line when the teeth fell out ...when he was beheaded alive or dead is the real question here ...if his gun was still at his side he was alive when he was beheaded ...the skull found latter would be a normal sequence in the wild ...see if he was standing and someone beheads him then his head falls down to his waste before the body hits the ground ,...and if you look this thermos is where it should be if he had it in his hand at the time he was beheaded ...his hand would keep hold of it till his body reach the ground ...this guy was not shot he was killed with a large blade like a machete...the reason they did not see this is most small bones would be gone by the time the body was found ...this could only happen when it was a fresh kill . the body is correct and the teeth are correct and the skull are correct only when it happens this way ...the person that killed him waited till he had his thermos in his hand that why he could not draw his gun ,,.... the killer would have had to be very close to him at the time and know he would drink from the thermos ...most likely the same day he went to his camp site ...see how the bottom plate is under the top plate the same way they are when your standing up right ...this guy had his head cut off why he was alive and standing with the thermos in his hands that's why he never drew his gun ....see how the bottom plate is facing downward and the part that goes on the gum side is facing upward and the top plate is showing you the teeth facing upward towards you .. no way these teeth fell out as the head was falling face down ,its the only way the teeth could land like this ...
