I'm new to this area and the stories of the lost Dutchman mine. Before you dismiss my comment simply as by someone who has no experience or expertise in this story or even mining let me say this: Sometimes a fresh perspective by someone who hasn't been exposed to the overload and abundance of material surrounding this story might be what's needed. Also think of how it was originally found. Anyway I find this presentation as the best one I have viewed and certainly the most believable because it's backed up by facts from the original author of the story.
Thanks Joe there are 4 parts to this saga ALSO LOOK for Herman and the first Dutch hunters, and Woodburys, and my search for the Dutch,mm it may answer all your questions
well done jack. very good detailed story
Love these old stories what a tough country full of history.
You are correct but the clues say it was south of the needle so you go back after finding the outcropping about a mile and start climbing up at an angle on a ledge just off the Terapin Trail back toward the middle of the bluff to find the shaft.
Interesting information.
If i knew someone was onto finding my hidden mine, i would put out stories totally opposite to the truth !😂
The clues lead to Bluff Springs Mountain in the large volcanic crevice in the center of the 3500 foot bluff about halfway down.South of Weavers Needle. .
Linda
Bluff Springs Mountian is entirely north of Weavers Needle so, I think you meant
north not south.
I'm sure if anyone found the actual pit mine, they kept it to themselves pretty good like Jacob Waltz did.
*Are you lifting these from "the Mysteries of the Superstition Mountains Channel" (with approval?)*
Check the credits David W Jones is the Producer/owner that's me Thanks for watching
Jack where is the Miner,s Needle from the gun site? Dad always looked @ it from it ,
About 12 miles north from Weavers Needle The Gunsight has to be far away from Weavers Needle to be a realistic Gunsight. Look in my book Lost El Dorado for photos of the gunsight also the cover has the Gunsight in perspective. There are other gunsights in he mts. but not proportionate and in a northerly line. The only gunsight that makes sense. Been there many times and it always works best!!
Miners Needle is not in a gunsight anywhere near the LDM The needle that is in the tales is the Weavers Needle check my book and on the cover is the gunsight 12 miles away from Weavers Needle but all the old timers were looking in the wrong places Also check Jesse Feldmans new book The Dutchmans Trailp 141 or thereabouts
@@jacksanfelice8840 In 1961 when i was 11 years old Dad and i Hiked from west of Wev, needle north to Tortilla Flats , Heard 2 shots from a 357 ,We hit the ground lay there a few min , walked to top of ridge .west to a patch of green pine trees and a dump found old cans from 1909- 1935 a little ways further found two mounds of slag , i claimed up on the right one and fell up to my chest in a hole , found a opening after the dust settled down some ,looked back in and counted at lest 12 4x4 post ,crawled back in fond a sharp edged GOLD pan,14" and couple hand full of Gold Ore, with streaks about 1/2 " w and 4" long in White Quartz,Dad puller me out before i could go any further in the Cash afraid of being bit by Sidewinder,s in there, covered it back up ,saw 4 people riding around a bunch of big boulders! we hit the ground laying till they went out of site ! Walked back to the center where my brother picked us up ,Driving my Grate Aunt Mollie Smith .s 1954 4 door green Chev car ,He just got out fo the army in Schofield Bariks Hawaii! and flue into Phoenix ! Her Son was Paul D Fannin the Governor at the time !Dad said he tout it was a cash that the Spanish Or Old Jake hid ? it,s on the old Apache Trail !i Have my dad,s Topo map marked location ,
@@rolandhutchinson8962 Im not sure that I would personally search right of the main way. However, interesting story! Maybe it was an easy access cash spot. I do feel that anywhere near the salt river has been searched and taken by now. But, I've much hope as I uncovered the Dutchmans story after my years here as an AZ native. Appreciate the history that is passed on by generations prior to us. Thanks guys
Lot of information.
Actually, it's "FUNF" for 5 and "FUNFZEHN" for 15.
I've heard the story of the Apaches covering in the pit mine as they didn't like whites hunting through what they consider high spiritual grounds to them.
The longest story with awful results
