Got the survival edition and that book inside is a beautifully illustrated book. For Sony's amazing exclusives, I try to always get the collectors edition. 300 bucks on Ebay for the PPE. Wow. Way to go ND on this epic Title we will always cherish. Can't wait to see your work on PS4.

I usually never buy games at launch, let alone preorder. But The Last Of Us is a rare game that I actually preordered the Survival Edition. Now that i have it and beaten the game twice, I couldn't be happier that I preordered so early.
single PVC statues/figures costs around 8000 JPY, which would be around 80 USD there are two characters so it's 80x2 equals 160 USD. It depends on the material. This is what I think.
It's a special collectors edition thats why it costs around $300,- not just for the goodies inside, but since there were very few made it's a rare collectors item for gamers

Some people like rare memorabilia of the games they like. I have been waiting since the first teaser for this game to be released, It even made me buy a Playstation 3. So just because you think it's a waste of money, Doesn't mean it is to others.

naughty dog is just a company i got respect for,cause they make a game with love and with a story, rockstar is also a company like that. they both seem to think about the gamer and not about money and selling numbers
yes but i think its all pre-owned because i went into my game shop and NUN of the games had a cover over it to show it was new so they are all naked so that means there pre-owned i prefer to buy a brand NEW copy but its too late

Exists in two versions (Joel or Ellie). No statue or any goodie whatsoever other than a tiny artbook wrapped into some sort of pencil case. Awesome. Not to mention the Euro conversion. If I buy my next gen console abroad (US), with very expensive transport, taxes and customs fees, I'm still saving money...

Not really I've seen this in the walking dead game, and heavy rain which to me has the best narrative even thought there not really comparable games. But it terms of controls and psychics there's a lot they could've worked on. Rockstar has really done well with physics and the different feels of things.
I think it's a bit over priced o.0 for a collectors item. I have the post-pandemic edition and retail price it was $175 plus tax and that was already expensive enough. The statue is worth it though, but not for $300
for $300 you can get a current gen console and for only $100 more you could just get a ps4 if you want the memorabilia that bad Im sure you can find it on eBay or amazon by itself for a lot cheaper if you chose to over pay from gimmicks that's on you.
yeah, all gaming companies need something fresh for "Special Editions", statues are not worth it. If it was Joel's backpack, or some clothing item then i would reconsider it, if i had the money.

If you were ready to fork over the dough when they announced the package it wasn't 200 dollars for a statue. The fact that you waited and now want to buy the extended content (ie the statue) is why you're paying 200 dollars more. This happen with every triple A title now days. The fact you have top comment is actually kind of a mind blow to me. I've seen rare copies of other special editions of other games go for twice as much.
Box in a Box is still okay, after all we are talking collector items here. Worse to me is the more modern trend to sell totally overpriced collector boxes WITHOUT a game in it as happened with the one for WOLFENSTEIN THE NEW ORDER and for XCOM 2
It should be like a trilogy or something, but I don't want them to force it. Would I love another Last of Us? Yes. But I don't want it to be ruined with unnecessary sequels.
Just get the joel or ellie editions i got joel for £75 and got dlc ,artbook, comic, poster, multiplayer boosts, soundtrack so gou get more for less monies

The game is fantastic, but i don't think I missed out on the special editions.
The statue is worth 150 dollars, so sell it on ebay and make a profit. The pack is worth 140 or 60.
