  • Part 1 The Introduction, First Date of the Giant Whiteknee
Our female A.geniculata has moulted out and been fed and conditioned ready to breed, this girl has killed her last 3 suitors immediately upon meeting them, I think we are more nervous than she is 😂👍

Female was really relaxed about whole thing! It's weird that such a serial suitor eater like her mated so smoothly. Especially seeing how geniculatas in general have very strong feeding response.

Well, as a tarantula male you better take "screw - nut - bolt" literally or else she might eat you after mating. Some poor males even got eaten before mating.
So yeah, as a tarantula male i would be nervous too, regardless of how much shes tapping xD

I've always been absolutely terrified of spiders even the itsy bitsy ones. Your gentle voice & the way you explain what they are doing & why they are doing what they do has helped my fear somehow.
I actually watch your videos now at night before bed & it relaxes me. However, the birds are distracting me from listening to you on this video
Lol Very informative by the way & thank you so much!!!

@@daveslittlebeasties I will most likely have zero feedback! 😂 Only compliments. I've only been keeping a year and have just NW terrestrial species and one Avic. I am getting really interetsed in the OW arboreals though. I might try with another NW arboreal first, raise that up from a sling and then take the next step.
I also have an A. Gen. Mine is maybe 2in. I've had him/her since 1/2in. Such lovely spiders. Great feeding response and beautiful to look at😍

@@joellemegan2934 I keep mainly arborials and old world, try not to think of them like new or old world, more about how you react to situations that arise from from what you keep now, if you remain calm then your ready to try something else, I try and show in my videos that with calm gentle handling even old world bad reputation spiders can behave calmly without aggression.

@@daveslittlebeasties I have a C. Lividus and it's so fast! Her rehouse took me several hours, not her fault, my fault. So when I say I'm not ready, it's not the spiders fault. I went into keeping terrified of spiders. I was fascinated, intrigued, but also afraid. My partner on the other hand is very calm. He does so well with the Lividus. It's me who is the issue😅 I need to learn to stay calm, if I can get over my fears then I can get faster species of Tarantulas.
