Thanks for your kindness! I'm a bird rehabilitation center volunteer, and if you don't mind, I'll give you a couple of tips for the future. 1. These birds feed on small insects, which are found on the branches and leaves of mostly coniferous trees. Due to their incredibly small weight and fast metabolism, they are forced to constantly eat, otherwise they can die in a few hours. It is very lucky that you brought plants from nature to the bird, so he probably found food in them. 2. Also, the doctors of our center recommend not to force water the birds that hit the glass. With a concussion, this can cause additional cerebral edema and worsen the condition of the bird. It is enough to put a container of water next to the bird, or wet the food. UPD but I personally think in this case you have done it right: just offered water, so the bird drunk as many as wanted. Birds drink less water than mammals, and it might not be needed at all, but since little guy became more lively after water supply, - it was done for good. 3. If you notice that birds continue to crash into your windows (this happens especially often during spring and autumn migrations), you can hang bright ribbons moving in the wind on the windows - this will scare away the birds. Good luck!
@@karyoplasma yes, that can work too. But, based on my experience, not all homeowners are ready to seal part of the windows :) and sometimes birds get used to such stickers. I don’t know why such indifference is connected, but it happens.

Birds sometimes get drunk from eating rowan berries in the autumn. It's just chocked. When u put the bird into the aquarium the bird was jumping around in there... I'm happy it survived, probably thanks to the things from nature that u put in there. Small birds need to eat almost all the time to survive. I've read that after trying to help a small bird over here that crashed. I just watched the bird for a while and then it flew away.
You're so right. Poor little girl looked like she got some bad berries while hunting for her little chickadees! Good thing they knew to free her at the first sign of health or she may not have made it back to her babies in time! Beautiful!! 💜
I have had birds crash into clean windows here on somewhat of a regular basis being so close to the woods. Unfortunately when this happened both times the bird did indeed die. Please stay safe and secure in your part of the world. You are in our prayers.
I can’t get over how cute those baby birds are opening their mouths at the very end. I just had to keep rewinding and watching it over again. Oh, so cute!!🐦

You can buy special stickers which you put on the outside of your windows to break up the reflection. The reason birds crash into windows is that they see the reflection of sky and trees and think they're flying into open space. Before I got my stickers (bird stickers from amazon), two birds crashed and were lying stunned on the ground. Both times, I picked the bird up (their beaks were open and their eyes closed but they could cling on to my hand) and after ten or fifteen minutes they regained their senses and flew off into a tree.
Looks like a golden crowned kinglet. They’re so cute! Window strikes are often deadly, so this little one is definitely lucky you were able to nurse it back to health and release it!

It often happens that birds hit windows and are knocked out or just sitting there, panting. The best thing is to just let them be, if it is cold weather/snow you can pick it up and keep them warm in your hands, but cover them in your cupped hands, so that they are in the dark, that keeps them calmer, because they easily stressed seeing you, being dizzy and not being able to move.

Had most likely crashed into their window and stunned itself. That could have been released at the time it was put into the glass box. Was moving well enough at that point to go off by itself. Had to look after one for about 45 mins earlier this year that had also bumped into a window. Well done to OP for caring, though maybe put the cat in another room next time.

That sound your cat made is unique to when cats see a bird. It’s an instinct for hunting as it tricks birds into thinking a chick is calling them. But your cat is so calm; she’s probably doing it of instinct rather than habit. Didn’t seem like she was hunting. What you did for that bird is exemplary.
What an absolute treat! You don't see Goldcrests everyday. You have lots of coniferous trees in your garden and that's the habitat they like. I'm very jealous of your lovely encounter.
This happened to us with a Kingfisher bird that hit our patio doors as we backed onto the river Welland. I picked it up as it was stunned, took it inside and let it rest on a towel on my knee giving it a drink now and then. I had it for about 3 hours like this, then it suddenly perked up, and after about another 20 minutes I took it outside and placed it on a tree branch overhanging the river, it sat there a bit and then dropped into the water and got a small fish. That was one of those special times I will never forget.
Well done, thank you!! They live on a delicate balance between survival and death. You did the right thing. In my own nurturing sessions of the same circumstance, I just shelter the afflicted bird outside, but in my loosely closed hands, like a little cave until their strength returns. They generally fly-off in good shape in about 15 minutes. The key is to protect them from the ambient temperature and any precipitation. Until they recover their senses from the concussion, they usually don't try to flee. The real threat to them during that time, is actually hypothermia.
Aw... I actually had a similar situation a few weeks ago. A poor bird was hobbling around in our driveway, it feet both bent backwards. He was missing his tail, as well. We eventually caught him, and attempted to help him, but, the next day, he had sadly passed. We fed him, gave him water, and put him in the warmest room of the house. Glad to know that there are other people who will help the birds. :)
Humanity in aiding helpless animals at its best as demonstrated brilliantly by the narration, sequential editing of the visuals to tell the story and the music. Kudos.
Amazing my friend, you have helped a helpless mother bird, taking care of it so it can raise its chicks. Thank you very much my friend. Warm greetings from Indonesia ❤❤❤
That chittering is what my two cats do only when they see birds through the window. They don't make that sound for anything else. What an uplifting and educational video! Thank you!
I recently removed the bird-stickers from the windows and let some curtains open, and already feel a better human being as well after some survivors. 🙂
Yup! No offense to Slivki, but kitty really wanted that bird by the end of the video - when the bird was actually showing signs of being active again. The noise is known as "Cat chatter". Cat's chatter when they're on the hunt, or excited by something often just out of reach. The cat incantation was the kitties way of saying "I desire to hunt that thing".
@@GuilRosmer Didn't cats start meowing only because of humans because they tried to imitate babies? More that I think about it, cats are clever little buggers.
@@Darkctan Yea, it showed those signs. But it didn't straight up jump on it to hunt it down (which is difficult to be found in cats). Especially because I lost my sister (my cat) 3 days ago. She was the most well taught cat I had ever seen. Even my birds has become friends of him. She was poisoned by some insect, which might have been trying to get into the house, and was attacked by Tom (my cat). Still can't stop crying for her...
A little tip for those with glass doors: there's glass stickers you can buy to place on your doors to lesson the chance of a bird crashing into your doors. If you can't find these stickers anywhere, bright sticky notes also work really well! We have a glass door and have had a bird hit the door before (but thankfully was ok!) and afterwards we put sticky notes on the door. We haven't had a bird crash since
Thank god you helped the little birds out, it could have died and it also looked like it was is so much pain, Tysm for helping the birds out and being kind!!! ❤
4:03 That's them simulating hunting. My cat makes that click noise every time she spots a bird out of the window. He definitely could have gotten the bird overnight, bird was very lucky.
I am amazed that you have never heard Cookie make a hunting "chitter" before. Obviously Stefan is not food as far as Cookie is concerned. But yes, that sound means the murder instincts are going hard, and a pounce is not far off.
3:57 I have 2 cats and they are very tempted by the birds by their nature. I call this sound that cats make "song of the death". One final song for their preys.
Birds are great wild pets. They give so much and expect so little. Be sure to buy them some healthy seeds and no breads! They will give you daily enjoyment! Over the years, we have helped thousands of birds through the winter to get them to the spring. Besides being cute and eating flies and mosquitoes they wont make a mess in your house. Since you can't have an elephant at home help the birds!
Last year I ran over a rabbit with my car. It was almost dead. I took it home, put it in a box after giving it some water and let it rest. The next day it was fortunately fully healed and I could let it go back into the wild after some nice cuddling. I will miss Miss Bunny 😍
What a WONDERFUL video...I was feeling quite awful this morning, in pain...but just watching your beautiful video, brought a feeling of hope and happiness. THANK YOU!
My cat made those sounds all the time looking outside at birds. It's like a expression of excitement of seeying prey, since they never do it whilst actually hunting. In hunting mode they go into full stealth mode. Cats are amazing!
Wonderful that it was able to fly again. That sound your cat was making when the bird was flying around brought its predator nature out. Cats try to mimic bird sounds hoping to lure them in then it’s curtains for them. Glad it worked out for the bird.
Help the birds and one day you’ll see them helping you! :)

Thank you for saving the little soul. 🥰 The cat's reaction was funny. 😀
It wasn’t really funny, cookie turned full on Hunter there.
@@Ateezwooyoungcalm down boy the bird is alright

Ye
The love that you give is all that matters in this life. beautiful video!
The world needs more people as yourself and I thank you for your kindness

Thank you for helping the little bird.
Cat incantation 😆
I love how he doesn't just help the bird but actually builds a mini terrarium for him.
The eyes
Yeah. That’s such a bad thing. 🙄
Thanks so much for saving that beautiful Golden Crowned Kinglet, I love that little bird 🐦♥️
Thank you!
The world needs more people like you❤
Yeah people who let cat watch over a wild bird with a towel on the container. The number of dumb people in this world must be shockingly high
More of them yes but just less idiot!!!
and less cats and doggo adicted people.
Thank you for helping this beautiful bird uk🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️
You guys inspire me to be a better human being, keep the good work and thanks for it.
God bless you
I recently removed the bird-stickers from the windows and let some curtains open, and already feel a better human being as well after some survivors. 🙂
4:43 THIS ENDING SCENE IS BEAUTIFUL! THE BIRD IS SO CUTE FEEDING ITS BABIES!
The cat was using Morse code...I'm going to get you 🤣...
Im glad you helped the bird, and I'm even more glad that cookie never actually caught the bird
It’s kuki btw
@@bloxycola8272 thank you, I didn't know that :D
Huge respect for kitty for not doing anything to the bird!
Real.
4:00 Cats make this noise to attract birds. He clearly wanted to eat it, all the signs are there.
Sweet lil birdo! I just love people who care this much about birds like I do 🐦🐦⬛🕊️🦜🦢🪿🦆🦩🦚🦃🐧
That's brilliant mate , gives me faith in the world . Need more like you .
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
Thank you for saving that poor Goldcrest!
Thank you so much for helping that sweet little bird. Bless you🙏🙏🙏🙏
God bless you for helping this bird. Indeed, you will be rewarded one day.❤
The little guy was beautiful. May he have the longest life!
thanks for helping this lovely bird.
It was sooo cute! 😍
This video showed me, that there are still good people in this world.
Beautiful bird and cat.
The goldcrest is such a beautiful and tiny bird. You did so well saving it and even luckier to see it up close . Well done!!👏👏👏👏
I just love stories like this, thank you for saving that little bird!

That's them simulating hunting.
The cat u got is too clever... It was making bird sound.... Bravo👍🏻🥰
3:57 I have 2 cats and they are very tempted by the birds by their nature. I call this sound that cats make "song of the death". One final song for their preys.
Thank you for helping the Little Fella 🐦🐦
Birds are great wild pets. They give so much and expect so little. Be sure to buy them some healthy seeds and no breads! They will give you daily enjoyment! Over the years, we have helped thousands of birds through the winter to get them to the spring. Besides being cute and eating flies and mosquitoes they wont make a mess in your house. Since you can't have an elephant at home help the birds!
GIVE THIS MAN A CROWN AND A KINGDOM HE DESERVE EVRYTHING
Last year I ran over a rabbit with my car. It was almost dead. I took it home, put it in a box after giving it some water and let it rest. The next day it was fortunately fully healed and I could let it go back into the wild after some nice cuddling. I will miss Miss Bunny 😍
Almost dead?? Ran over by a car?? Maybe you just bumped it since it recovered so swiftly
Aww, you are beautiful humans 🥰 to help the bird. ❤️
I loved it. You are a birdsaver!🥰 I loved how you take care of nature!❤🐦🐦🐦

What a WONDERFUL video...I was feeling quite awful this morning, in pain...but just watching your beautiful video, brought a feeling of hope and happiness. THANK YOU!
You did all the right things for that sweet bird. Thank you!! ❤🙂🐦
We are so proud of you. ❤️
My cat made those sounds all the time looking outside at birds.
It's like a expression of excitement of seeying prey, since they never do it whilst actually hunting. In hunting mode they go into full stealth mode. Cats are amazing!
Looks like a warbler, really cute and tiny birds. They are very prone to hitting windows and even dying because of it. Very glad you find it in time!
The sounds that your cat was making- was chatting up a bird, cookie was trying to charm the bird in doing so, trying to make the bird a snack.
"Chatter" when eyeing prey is a common cat behavior.
On behalf of our 9 rescued birds and us, thank you for saving a birdie.😀
Wonderful that it was able to fly again. That sound your cat was making when the bird was flying around brought its predator nature out. Cats try to mimic bird sounds hoping to lure them in then it’s curtains for them. Glad it worked out for the bird.
Its nice seeing genuinely good and kind things in life. Good job!
Good job bro. Appreciate your efforts for saving a tiny bird. Good part is you released it back in the open woods.
To show that he was grateful for saving him, he took a giant bird dump on your hand prior to releasing him.
Mann i love you. People like you reminds that Humanity is still alive❤
Salute You For Helping This Innocent and Beautiful Bird❤❤❤❤❤
That was a Goldcrest. The smallest bird in the UK. Also a firecrest of the same family. They live in coniferous woods/forests.
So beautiful.
Proud of your humanity, good job man.
