    Its time to rehouse A.geniculata adult female back into a nice glass enclosure she has been kept in a plastic enclosure but we don't get to see her in all her glory so a space became available on the shelf so who better to occupy it , lets see how we designed her new enclosure .

    Again I'm impressed by just how beautiful some of these animals are. Her new enclosure looks very natural and inviting so I hope she spends at least some of her time out where you cans enjoy and appreciate her.

    Hello Dave and Camera Lady. I was so excited to see this girl! I miss seeing her out in her enclosure in the background of your past videos. She seems to have such a personality and I think she likes attention. She will definitely be happy in that lovely enclosure. It is beautiful Dave, well done. Excellent footage Camera Lady! You got some wonderful close ups. Again, I am thrilled to see the glass tanks coming back into the Beastie Room. I know they take up space but they are so very lovely. Thank you for the video. Y’all take care and see you soon! Good night! ❤❤🤠🥱😴🌚

    @13:35 YES!!!! I’m so sick of the mesh lid hysteria! I’ve been called all kinds of names for saying it’s really not necessary to replace them with acrylic! I have around 300 T’s and a lot of mesh tops, I’ve never had an issue! I know a lot of long time keepers like you, who also have never had an issue! I don’t know who started this idea that you MUST replace the lids, but people are very militant about it. That said, if you see your spider getting stuck, by all means change it! This is common sense! Ok, whew. Rant over, thank you!

It's so funny how people seem to really look for this black and white way of things instead of using their own brains and like u said taking bits and pieces of the information and making ur self a tailored way of doing things that fits u and ur caring for the creatures we keep!!! Thank u for well being u!!

    I live middle of east coast in the US and this winter has been challenging when it comes to keeping some of our animals, the biggest issue is the humidity, winter time here seems to be very dry, and our house heating is all done with electric heaters, and this seems to dry the air inside even more, it’s definitely been a challenge to keep enclosures at ideal humidity, my spiders seem to “slow down a bit” when it comes to molting during winter months. 👀

  • @marjorieinverts
    @marjorieinverts 4 месяца назад +2

    You are VERY correct Dave… I live in the United States in Tennessee. Winter can get very cold and dry and summer is super hot and humid. My spider room is also my home office that I’m in everyday. This time of year, I KEEP the space heater on. And I will tell you as soon as I turn it on it’s like they know and they come out and place themselves against the side of their enclosures at the holes and sit there all day and feel that heat lol it’s a struggle to keep the balance of dry and humid, especially in an older house. Just gotta do what’s best to your own environment. I’m so glad you touched on that! Thank you . She is gorgeous btw. Mines still a little baby but I’m excited to see her grow 🤍

    Amazing video! Since watching your videos i started keeping my snake/tarantula room 26C and they all are doing well i have an humidifier. Where i live its a temperate rain forest so its humid but my heater drys the room out.
    Ive always used mesh tops and im soo frustrated everytime someone yells at me for it. My buddy has been keeping and selling tarantulas for 45 years always using mesh 0 issues and he keeps 3000 tarantulas because he breeds and sells them. So i trust your and his opinions since all the keepers hating on mesh have barely been more then 10 years in the hobby with 0 proof

    I’m so glad you touched on location and husbandry because it’s so true. I live in Tennessee and my t’s are in a shed that has r-19 insulation because it can get very cold here, an air conditioner and a heater. In the summer I use damp rid to keep the humidity at a reasonable level and take it out in the winter when the heat dries out the air. You really do learn how to tweak your husbandry to make it work.

    It's good that you bring up these things, like temperature, bringing in stuff from outside, "dangerous" potting compost etc 🙃 There is so much talk in fb-groups about how dangerous things are for your tarantula. It's like, the common sense is just gone, lol 😂 And Im not even going to start with the temperature thing. "If your comfortable, so is your spider"... No. Just no. Ok, Im done!

    I recently watched a couple of videos by another person unpacking, re-housing and feeding spiders. I had to stop because the spiders were often stressed, in defensive position and attacking the brush used, etc. I just really prefer how you handle your spiders and always attempt to keep them calm, and also that you don't over-feed them just because they are reactive to food. The experience and accumulated knowledge you share is so enjoyable.
