Thank you for your review. In the UK in late 2020 there has been a complete lack of available planer-thicknessers and I must admit to thinking about buying this product. Thank goodness I didn't. Suppliers and manufacturers, the good ones that is, realise that mistakes happen, products become faulty, deliveries have issues - and they realise that they need to do something about it. It is NOT the customer's fault, the customer just wants a 'new' working machine and deserver such. Your machine obviously looks as though it has been used/abused by potentially a previous customer. If the manufacturer wants us to purchase their products then they should have responded to your issues in a much more apologetic way, ensuring that your issues are resolved and you are turned from being a very un-happy customer, rightly so, into a happy one, one that wants to leave a positive review of a product you have purchased. Thanks again - I won't be buying from Holzmann now - or indeed anytime soon.
Thank you for protecting us from this shady company. I was thinking about buying some machines but when you see how they handle customers and honest criticism - that's a big no-no...
I had a lot work to lower the machine in the basement, try to calibrate it and finally i had to take it out. It took them more than 1 month to pick it up. They didn't want even to apologize, instead the wanted me to remove my video. I could have been worse in the video but I maintained a civilized review.
Thanks so much for this review! I was considering a Holzmann machine but after watching your review I quickly made up my mind. There are just to many issues. Also the fact that they want you to remove the video is very suspicious. They should care more about making quality products instead of taking the effort of getting bad reviews removed. I would suggest to them to take this feedback to heart and make better quality products. Thanks again for this review...very useful.
You're welcome. I hope they take action, but I seriously doubt it. It is a shame since they have interesting machine at a good price range. I went with Felder AD741 which is almost 9 times more expensive but I have never looked back.
Interesting how "the Company" formulates the problem. From their point of view, it's not their bad production and service, but the honest review that damages the reputation...:)))
Please do not take the review down. You exhibited clearly the faults of this machine and they should be ashamed selling this. All your points show that the faults defeat the very purpose of buying such machine. Thank you for your review. I subscribed.
Great review and I'm glad you were able to have the machine returned. I bought the Holzmann HOB260NL, and wish I had waited for a better machine. After talking at length to the Holzmann staff about problems with a machine "built to Holzmann's high standards", I gave up and decided to make the best of a piece of junk. I paid about €900 for the machine and spent over three weeks trying to get the outfeed table aligned with the blade roller, get the infeed and outfeed tables coplanar, and set the knives to the correct height. For some reason, the factory in China attached the tables to the hinge plate with pins, as well as the table adjusting bolts. The pins lock the table to the hinge plate, which makes it impossible to make any adjustment on that side. After I knocked the pins out, which wasn't difficult, I could finally move the tables and make them coplanar. I also got rid of the very stiff springs under the blades and used a magnet to hold the blades in place a little higher than required while I snugged up the gib nuts. I then tapped the blades down while checking with a dial indicator so they were at the correct height. After tightening all of the gib nuts, the blades were locked in place and as close to perfect as I can expect. My next purchase will be the Hammer A3.
It seems like we had the same machine. Piece of junk is actually harsh, I'd call it scrap metal 😂. I bit the bullet and got the A3-41, I have to wait for two months but I'll let you know how it goes. I went to Slovenia to see it in action and I was impressed with it. Let's see how mine goes. Cheers
I have used it for 2.5 weeks now and passed about 2.5 cubic meters of wood. I'm pleased with it. It is not perfect machine and some improvements can be done but overall it does what it is supposed to do and quite well so. Spiral head cutter (silent power) is absolutely brilliant and produces very clean cuts. Even though can cut max 3 or 4mm it is best not to go over 0.5 mm in hardwoods and 1mm in softwoods. Best finish is achieved with the final pass of 0.1mm. It is a nice machine for serious hobbyists. In few years I might upgrade to Felder 941 or 951 which is a much more serious machine. But I'll look into other options as well when the time comes.
Thank you so much for this honest review. Based on your experience I'll look for another brand. I was shocked to see them ship you a machine in this condition. With these tolerances it is totally useless. Not the level of quality or quality control you would expect from an Austrian company. You went to much further length to correct the machine than I think any customer would normally be able too.
Thank you Klaus. They are Austrian based company but their stuff is made in China. Even though I purchased it brand new, I got a surplus or an exhibition piece. I have also bought their scroll saw 3 years ago and it works but is crappy/hobby one. Now I ordered Hammer A3 jointer which is from Felder group and made in Austria. I hope it will be better machine and you'll get an update on it as well. Cheers
Many thanks for your honest review. We need more of this. I have bought rubbish machines from Bosch and Schepach. If I had been able to view honest reviews I would never have bought them. These companies damage the woodworking industry.
You're welcome John. I have bought a spindle sander from Scheppach this year and it is an ok machine (7/10). All is well except lack of power but that is expected for that price range. I have experience with older Bosch tools that were made proudly in Switzerland and they are beasts of tools that do hard work today after 20+ years of constant use (brushes were changed 4 or 5 times). Today's Bosch seems to be a tool that won't last as long. It has to be considered though that tools today cost 1/10th of the price they used to. If a new Bosch drill will last me 3 years (as per guarantee) I can say that is not bad deal. I still wish you can buy old quality because it is very reliable, but the world (capitalistic one) moves on. Best regards from Croatia
Thank you for sharing your impressions on this machine. Manufacturers shouldn't abuse the fact that some small workshops cannot spend 3.000€ in a better machine. If a company cannot produce the results they publicize, they should stop waisting people's time, efforts and money. I will definitely avoid this brand. MADE IN China is O.K., but control of quality should be unnegotiable.
I'd look into Scheppach machines. I have one spindle sander and it's very good, also one very good carpenter recommended me 3.1c as a very good machine. A bit more expensive than £1000, but worth it. I got Hammer A3-41 with spiral head and it is very good machine, but it is €4700. Try to check the Hammer A3-26, that is a great choice.
I was about 5 mintues away from buying a belt sander from Holzmann because the machines look like they'd be good(I know, very scientific :p) but wanted to look up the company first. Thanks for posting their attempt at getting your video taken down, no way am I gonna deal with that company now
You made the right decision. I think manufacturers have several product categories that come out of production. They even try to sell the worst that are for waste, which is evident in your case. You should charge them the time you spent trying to set up the machine. I wish you the best of luck buying another machine if you buy it. Thanks for the information. Holzmann fell out of my choice. Nice greetings from Slovenia
I think the same thing. Maybe they thought I'm inexperienced user and would use the machine as it is. That is quite sad since everyone who is buying this level machine has some experience in woodworking. I'll save some more money and buy JET or Hammer next. I'll let you know when I get it and how I like it.
I had Holzmann slow turn sharpening machine. It was very pure quality. The main problem was the motor, which was overheating after 15 min. of work. A stone's shaft was wobbling. Leather disk was warped.
Apparently honesty is wrong theses days?. You saved a lot of heartache for other people. I've been a woodworker for many years and what I just watched is 100 percent, absolutely unexceptable. I'm amazed this company is still in business. Nice woodshop by the way.
I'm amazed as well at the faults and the ways they treated me once I uploaded this video. So called friendly customer service became instantly unfriendly. Thanks for the compliment.
I saw this machine on Ubuy website, it looks good and the price is fair enough, but now after watching your video, I will never look up for Holzmann product. so thank you so much.
Well done...good video...you state the facts without being an ass...and you do not let take advantage of you or bully you into removing the video...that makes you a hero to me...BIG THUMBS UP!
an industrial woodshop worker here in Brussels warned me about this brand, not that I was going to buy anything from them anyway, but your video confirmed what he said, brilliant ! thank you very much :)
That machine wouldn't last 6 months in my workshop and you would have nightmares planing up timber with it. This is a very honest review and the company is trying to hide how bad their product is. The tolerances are appalling. I would never buy a planer with lifting surface tables, they are all prone to bad tolerances but this is one of the worst I've seen. Thanks for your honest review.
Thanks for that video. I did got so far two machines from holzmann, both far over the price of your machine and both are fantastic. Once I had an issue with my FKS305VF-3200 and the support got quiet fast to the point and helped me fast and with no issue to complain about. But I was up to recommend exactly this machine to a friend, as of my personally good experience with Holzmann. I think I will not do that for this particular machine, I know that 1000€ are a lot of money for many people, including my friend... Will see now if we can find a second hand one from another brand fitting for his pocket. (PS, many of the Holzmann machines are made in China and if you have a closer look on the photos, you can find exactly the same machine under other names as Holzkraft, Record and others 🙄😉).
Thank you so much for the video! I was considering buying this machine because my small einhell planer has all the same problems you just described. I'm glad not to have spent all of my savings to buy a machine with the same problems.
They were right in 2019, this video is really helpful for buyers (not for companies, but they should think twice before trying to sell some crap). Anyway, thanks for your video and especially for not having removed it.
Thanks, I will never remove it. Their product was faulty but customer service was a deal breaker for me. I later bought 5 times more expensive machine but Felder's customer service became extremely nice once I posted similar video on my channel.
if they are offering 270 euro for you to keep a machine that is basiclly unusable then there out of pocket alot of money. I wonder how many other people have bought this machine and the offer has worked. After finding one or two faults. They took the money back and then found the rest of the faults. Great Review.
Sorry to hear about your experience with your machine. Had exactly the same with a Luna brand machine, so after a lot of trouble with entry level cast iron machines, i bit the bullet and bought a Hammer A3-31. Now this is twice the price, so hard to justify, but i was losing my joy for woodworking because i was unable to process rough lumber, so here 6 years later, i am glad i did it. Another plus is, that the resale value is pretty good, if i should ever decide to get rid of it.
Thank you for your recommendation Peter. I really need to find a good cast iron machine. I'm also glad I wasn't the only one having the trouble, after three days of fiddling with it I started to doubt my capabilities in setting the damn thing. Well, life school it is. Cheers
As the saying goes, buy cheap, get cheap. When it comes to woodworking machinery, sometimes $1,000 is cheap. I've learned over the years to do tons of research on anything you want to buy and try to buy at the top of your budget when buying large tools like this.
It seems that this Hammer has great reputation among the woodworkers. I'm getting that one. It is the biggest one I can get in my shop, and that'll be a challenge considering 290kgs of weight. This Holzmann was 140 and it wasn't easy task, may the gravity be on my side this time.
@@AndreaArzensek be careful with hammer and/or Felder products. Read some reviews on their Facebook page. facebook.com/pg/Felder.Group.International/reviews/
This is just a generic machine from China, that is sold under many brands and names (e.g. ML392, AXMINSTER AC250PT, HOLZMANN HOB260ECO, and many more for different markets).
I have their profi scroll saw. Same crap, they just slapped pro on it. Look up SCM machines if your budget can stretch a bit. Or Scheppah, they are chinese made but with much better QC. Cheers
@@easycollabDotNet if buying new take a look at Hammer N4400, can't go wrong with it. Although I'd look into used machines because you can get serious cast iron body bandsaw for that money. Happy shopping :)
Few years ago I bought a Holzmann HBS 300J bandsaw. It was pure quality, lots of loose and misaligned parts, wobbling blade …etc so I did not even turn the machine on. I sent it back in two days not asking for a new one. I also had to pay for the shipping about 50 EUR which was a lot considering the price of the saw which was around 350 EUR. Now I am buying a Hamer A3-31 jointer-planer and not even considering buying a Holzmann.
I have A3-41 with spiral and I'm quite impressed by the quality of cut and the chips produced are much smaller in volume which is a great plus. And the planer is so quiet running. Best regards
I bought a Holzmann mitre saw bench from Hornbach. The demo model looked good and I thought it was a reputable brand (same price point as Bosch pro and Makita) but was thoroughly disappointed with the finish. It’s a brand worth skipping. Holzmann you need to sort yourselves out or expect more bad reviews
After you review we ended buying an old dewalt jointer planer, it has a fully adjustable imfeed and outfeed beds so even if it was non cooplanar it was just matter of time to bring it back to fine accuracy. For 500 euros it was not a bargain but a good purchase.
Thank you very much for having took time to share this. Very helpful for lot of us for who purchasing that combination machine start in the game can really be a critical money investment, but also source of joy, motivation, or deep frustration and angry... If you're still looking for something well rated, i found the JET JPT 260 M. Good luck for your research and best regards!
I don't know about bigger JET machines, but I saw a review of a small JET planer-thicknesser. It's just the same peace of crap made from tin can metal.
One thing is review and the other is when you use it. But I heard from MTM wood that he's very happy with 12" JET with spiral head. Anyhow, I have now A3-41for 2 weeks in continuous use. It is a very good machine but some improvements could be done to make it better, but I'm satisfied.
Thanks for the information good to know. I have just sent a 12 inch lumberjack planer thicknesser back for a full refund as the thicknesser would not feed the wood through it. Now back to the drawing board to find something that will do what it's ment to.
Thanks for your honest review, I was planning on buying a KF315VF2600 and HOB320P. After seeing your review I think it Chinese import with an Austrian flag stamped on it.
Yes, this is a one-sided review. The side is the customer. Not the video is damaging the reputation of the company, its the bad quality and not existing quality control! Wanted to buy something from Holzmann but the quality got worse and worse the last few years... and then offering money for keeping the scrap.. what a shame.
This machine was slightly out of my price range, yet I still considered it because I had a good feeling about the brand. Thank's for the honest review!
I suggest the cheaper aluminum top machine. Even though they are mediocre at best they still offer better quality than this Holzmann. I suspect that Zipper machines are bad as well since is from the same factory as Holzmann so I would avoid those. I had before bramd called PowerPlus and it was crappy but it actually worked ok for two years. Eventually it fell apart.
@@AndreaArzensek man i am really looking to outfit my shop at home for medium professional use and would love a recomendation. holzman seemed so tempting for the price
Hi Vukasin, Maybe you'll be luckier than me. The thing is that I have a scroll saw from Holzmann and it is the same crappy machine. I would go with Scheppach, they are also made in China but seem to have better quality control. I have their spindle sander with cast iron table! and it is fantastic bang for buck.
Maybe Sceppach 3.1C, but if you have bit more money go for SCM minimax or Hammer A3-26. Now I have Hammer A3-41 with spiral cutters and I'm very happy with it but it cost me €4700. Also there is no point in comparing it to the Holzmann, it is much superior in every way.
The review is sincere and offers a real opinion about the product. Hard to find something like this nowadays. I am not a devil lawyer, but I think is wrong to put an etiquette on a manufacturer, having just 2 products working on. I tend to think, that the company who sold the product you are speaking of, is not Holzmann Austria, but a dealer from your area. As I know they do not sell directly to final client. If I am wrong, apologize. If there is a reseller, dealer or whatever sounds good for you, hitting the brand company isn’t a good practice, and maybe that is why they asked you to get the video off. However, keep it up. I wish all the best! 😁
Hi Robert, You are right abot reseller, but Holzmann sent the machine directly from Austria. Anyhow, now I own Hammer A3-41 which does work as a planer should work, albeit at 4 times the price. You will see a review of it after I pass some time with it. I paid it with my own money and wasn't sponsored by them. Cheers
Glad to hear that you bought a new machine! I understand that the machine came from Austria, but you have to admit that reseller might be not so carefull. I represent a dealer in România, which sells Holzmann. And anytime when we received machines in bad shape, we send it back or we sell it as refurbished. If we talk about Holzmann, they are communicative and helpful. They ship everything up to date, clear and clean. At least, we have a good business relation and I might be subjective. About the reseller, you did the right thing, in my opinion.
I agree with you on those points. I had bought Holzmann machine before (a scrollsaw), it works but it is not that reliable. 1 year after it started to detension and the led light died, it is poorly made bit I kinda made it work by changing some parts. Best to you!
Hi Andrea. Did you by any chance bought this mashine from retailer from Slovenia? I had the worst experiences with this brand and even more from the retailer. Good luck
No, I had a Croatian retailer but I haven't mention any names since they decided to cooperate professionally. They will organize the transport and pay for the costs. If they don't do that I'll make an update video for sure. Cheers
misliš mogoče Depoles trgovino? jaz sem pred kratkim pri njih naročil holzmann stružnico in so enaki problemi. opraskana vodila na vseh robovih, odluščena barva, rja, barva na vodilih, narobe izrezani deli, zobniki vsi razmajani in za povrh je še pogonska jeremnica poškodovana tako da je cela mašina prispela do mene totalno neuporabna. zdaj že dva tedna čakam da mi pošljejo nadomestne dele ampak ni nič

You're welcome. I've heard the same problems with Bernardo machines but I hope yours will work ok. I have bought now Hammer A3-41 which is much more expensive. Look into A3-26 which is a bit more expensive than Bernardo but much better machine in every aspect. Cheers
Thanks for making this video and letting the community know about poor machines. I have had three different planer thicknessers before finding one that worked perfectly, Dewalt 733.
Hello Andreas Nice to see a video of you again, I have waited a long time. Holzmann's small machines come from China, and often have no resistance. I hope you can send the scams back, and get your money back. I'm looking forward to your next video. Greetings from Switzerland Gottfried
Hi Gottfried, Yes I'm back. I already got refunded and now I have to wait for their truck to pick it up. I have few projects to edit so you can expect videos from me soon. Stay tuned. Cheers
I was about to buy this machine. But considering your video I decided not to. The only good thing about this machine is that the engine is quiet. Thank you for your honest review Andera
Thanks a lot for this review, a lot of adds for Holzman in my country. Was thinking of a 7000 euro sliding saw, but f, that I will stick to Felder even though they cost like they where made of gold. (the quality is at least extreme) I always google or search RUclips before making purchases of unknown brands. Companies all over the world must understand that bad quality will be exposed. Shady bastards ... TR
Pozdrav Andrej.

Regarding return shipping, for anyone who finds them selves in a similar situation and live within the EU: if you want to return a product within the 14 day return period, or if the product is faulty, or if you need to have it serviced, the company you purchased from must pay for return shipping. This cost is not the consumers responsibilty and there is no way for them to avoid this. This however dos not mean they wont try to make you pay for it. To know your consumer rights within the EU go to "Your Europe" website and look up the consumer rights pages. There are lots of examples of specific situations and qouting these pages often makes a company quickly change there mind :)
Hi Andrea, it has been 7 months since I wrote you and I wanted to know if you have find an alternative to this machine, and if holzmann finally agreed to return you money the moey you wasted in their machine. I'm trying to buy something similar myself and in Spain this is what you find in the brico shops. Of course I won't buy one, but I wondered if you found an alternative. By the way, I have noticed that tou have a Dewalt table saw in your studio. I'm also intending to buy a table saw, but I want it to be as precise as possible, considering that I cannot afford a a stationary one. I will use it to make frames and musical instruments, so I need to find the maximum posible precission. Are you happy with the precission of the dewalt tables saw? Thanks.
@@AndreaArzensek Thanks may do - I've looked at the AX 260 but I'm currently considering the Jet JPT 260 - mainly because of the ease of switching between functions. On the other hand, I can get the spiral cutter version of the Ax 260 for not a great deal more money than the Jet.. To be honest, I can't really justify the spend but it is tempting ;-)
very helpfull, just was going to order the same machine :)...hopefully you'll have better luck with other manufacturer, would be great to know which one you pick. thanks
Thanks for your review, I also have been looking at one similar to this, will look elsewhere now 👍 Incidentally I had a Zipper Mitre saw which is also part of the same group, it arrived damaged and they refused to take it back unless i payed the postage which would have cost me half the price of the saw. They also offered me money off the purchase for the inconvenience, which I subsequently then took since I wasn't prepared to pay the high shipping cost. That mitre saw I might just add I had to spend 20 minutes lining it up each time to try and get straight cuts, so I eventually gave up and moved to a different brand.
Hi John, thanks for your comment. I don't know these two bandsaws but both those manufacturers make good stuff so you should be ok with either of them. Try to search on google a bit and see what others say about them. Greetings from Croatia, Andrea
Thanks a lot for the on point review, to focus on the real function of the machine and actually measuring with proper tools and not just taking some pictures of some wood slabs ram trough. You certainly know how a planner should be used, big like.
@@AndreaArzensek Definitely very good tips you showed here, especially using the flatedge and not some flexible square or who knows what other tool. Also you point out the repetability of the settings. To many reviews are just showcasing the machine... and yes the holzman is not a high end one, but it still must usable, this one is not there. As about me, I have a small Elektra Beckum HC260, from 83' with aluminium tables, the outfeed table has to be remove when using the thickenser. So you might imagine how many possibilities there are to get misaligned :) The concave-convex or in othe words the parallel in-outfeed tables is a dream for me, but i did managed it to get it usable. The outfeed is also not flat, it has a slight(0.1mm) bow in the middle at the cutting area, probably because of the aliumium just bent. The 90Degree guide needs a 5 minute adjustment each time, but on the good side, I learned a lot about planers with it, it has no vibrations, no mechanical play, the tickenser table is dead stable and it has a strong 2,2kw 400V motor.
Your almost a year down the road since you bought this machine, what is the situation with the machine now? Has the company taken it back and returned your money? If not have you contacted them and threatened legal action? In the UK we have trading standards whose responsibility is to ensure customers get basically what they paid for and that companies are held to account if their products are faulty etc, do you have anything like this in your country that you can get help from?
Yes, I got the money back and sent the machine to Austria. Here in Croatia you are screwed if you don't have public reach like I have with my YT channel. Eventually I got Hammer machines but that is another story.
The Hammer A3-41 is another level all together. Much better machine but it is almost 5 times the price, still not perfect. We had problems with the tablesaw K3 but that is being solved. This never ends for us, we are just unlucky with power tools.
Sorry I mixed the videos. I bought Hammer A3-41 with spiral cutters and I'm very happy with it. Albeit, it is €4700 which is almost 5 times as Holzmann. But it is worth it.
That is a great start to make. My first planer cost €300 and it worked for 2 years. It did work but it was making a lot of noise and vibrations. I tried to upgrade to Holzmann but I was disappointed and tricked. I finally pulled the trigger and got Hammer one. Regards from Croatia!

Yes, we bought Hammer A3-41. It is a much bigger and more expensive machine. Still we experience some problem with jointer tables being out of coplanar. Look into Jet jointers if money is tight. People seem to have good luck with them.
Thanks for the video. I'm watching it too late since I've already ordered it. However... there are other users that have posted positive reviews, so I'm still hopeful!
@@AndreaArzensek Hey Andreas. Actually, I'm quite happy with it. I have none of the problems you report. My machine looks slightly different to yours, so perhaps it's a revised model. Thanks for asking.

Hi Steve, I hope everything is well with you and your family. They actually refunded me day after I published the video. As of today they still haven't arrived for the machine, it is taking space in my shop 😪 Wishing you all the best Steve
Like others, I was also thinking on buying machines from this company. But after your review I will not. Any other other brand you can advise? I need to find decent machines but at reasonable prices.
@@AndreaArzensek Which Hammer? I am thinking about the A3-31 and looking for unfaked and honest reviews and expieriences. Anyway: Thanks for your video and congratulations to your final successful choice!
4:14 does that even matter though? As long as it stays in the same plane. I just happen to have a similar machine, and it does the same thing. The planer side of our machine seems more robust than this one though. It's an old one my parents bought probably over 10 years ago. I somewhat "restored it", it had been sitting in some damp place and was all rusty, some side panels look like they were almost rusted through. They weren't really despite some 1.5-2mm thick rust flakes coming off the sides. Hitting the sides with a hammer it still felt solid. These are probably all made in China from similar components and sold in Europe under different brand names.
An excellent and helpful presentation. No wonder the manufacturer is not happy! So in view of this can anyone tell me what planer thicknesser to get for about the same money or do I have to spend a lot more for a decent quality machine? Thanks in advance.
Thank you Stephen. I was in same doubts if I could find a similar price machine that is decent. Ultimately I went for Hammer A3-41 which is a much better machine but the price is 5x this one. Probably the A3-26 or SCM MiniMax are good options.
Thank you very much for sharing your real experience with Holzmann, respect. I was and i am sceptical about their real quality. I am just building my first garage wood workshop with limited budget, can you maybe propose some brands, models by your experience to look for. I am buying saw, planer, track saw, dust collector... Thank you & keep up doing great work. BR from Slovenia.
Hi Gregor, I have been to Totus (Šentvid, Ljubljana) and there I ordered Hammer machines from Felder corp. I still can't tell how they perform since I'm waiting for them to arrive. But I can tell that they are much more expensive and seem much better quality as I've seen in person at Totus. Give them a call, ask for Matej Hočevar. Best regards,
@@AndreaArzensek Thank you Andrea, i will, just the price range of hammer machines is a little high for me, hope we will find some mutual solution, still looking also some other options.
Yes they are expensive. I heard Jet was quite good for the money. Hammer price was high for me as well but I'm tired of being frustrated with the machines not doing what they were supposed to do. Also they are made in Austria which is a plus. Greetings from Croatia
That was a very fair-minded review; after having spent a lot of time and effort in getting it into the basement and trying hard, well, I'd had had an angry rant! Have you seen a different machine you might buy as a replacement?
Yup, but now that I saw some comments here I want to get Hammer A3 31. It is wider with helical head and it costs 3.5 times more. But it is a lifetime machine. I hope I'll get it soon. I really need a jointer/thicknesser.
Зараз у всіх станках є проблеми.
Cheers
@@AndreaArzensek So, how it goes?
Thanks for an honest review. Interesting to hear the company response. Never easy to find quality and value.
I agree on every word you've written! This was my point in this video.
I once bought a wood Holzmann wood lathe and decided never to buy Holzmann again. Thanks for this review!
Ouch! I was ordering this machine at £999.99 on Ebay but luckily found your review just in time. Thanks for that.
Thanks for posting their attempt at getting your video taken down, no way am I gonna deal with that company now
Thank you VERY much for the video.
This machine has been on my shortlist for a while, but now it's not an option anymore.
Haha 😂
I was intrigued when I saw you wrote it was pure quality, then I kept on reading 😂😂😂
So glad I watched this. Was going to spend £3000 on a pannel saw from Holzmann.... :)
I saw this machine on Ubuy website, it looks good and the price is fair enough, but now after watching your video, I will never look up for Holzmann product. so thank you so much.
Glad I could help! Cheers
Well done...good video...you state the facts without being an ass...and you do not let take advantage of you or bully you into removing the video...that makes you a hero to me...BIG THUMBS UP!
Thank you Justin!
Greetings from Croatia
an industrial woodshop worker here in Brussels warned me about this brand, not that I was going to buy anything from them anyway, but your video confirmed what he said, brilliant ! thank you very much :)
You're welcome. I got Hammer A3-41 and I'm really satisfied. Albeit the cost higher is almost 5 times.
Holtzman won't see my money for sure after i saw this video. Thank you for the review
I have now Felder AD741. It is almost 10 times the cost but it is indefinitely better and it does its job.
Thank you Marc, I appreciate you sharing my video and letting others know about this company's business.
Exactly what i did and do not regret it a bit🙂 just posted a comment about it too hehe
Great review. Thank you for taking the time to review it.
This is just a generic machine from China, that is sold under many brands and names (e.g. ML392, AXMINSTER AC250PT, HOLZMANN HOB260ECO, and many more for different markets).
Thanks for the info. Do you know if other holzmann machines are the same chinese as this one ? I'm considering buying some from PROFI line.
I have their profi scroll saw. Same crap, they just slapped pro on it. Look up SCM machines if your budget can stretch a bit. Or Scheppah, they are chinese made but with much better QC. Cheers
@@AndreaArzensek I plan to spend up to 2000eur for bandsaw - any suggestion?
If you can go with the A3-41, in any case get the one with spiral head. You'll be very pleased.
@@AndreaArzensek Unfortunately I cannot afford the 41 but going with the spiral head ;)
I think you'll be very happy with it. Congratulations!
@@AndreaArzensek Thank you!
Thanks for this video that made me not want to deal with this company. Keep it online, that's how they learn the hard way.
After you review we ended buying an old dewalt jointer planer, it has a fully adjustable imfeed and outfeed beds so even if it was non cooplanar it was just matter of time to bring it back to fine accuracy. For 500 euros it was not a bargain but a good purchase.
Most likely much better tool than this one. Now I have Felder AD741 and I love it but it is 10 times the cost of this one.
@@AndreaArzensek Felder is another planet, a beautiful planet.

Yup, probably better to steer away from it.
I was looking at JET and it seems far superior machine to Holzmann. However, since it was more accessible to me, I bought the Hammer A3-41.
It is quite difficult to find one that should do what it was made to. It is really frustrating.
Thanks for your honest review, I was planning on buying a KF315VF2600 and HOB320P. After seeing your review I think it Chinese import with an Austrian flag stamped on it.
That is xactly what it is.

Hi Vukasin,
Maybe you'll be luckier than me.

@@AndreaArzensek thanks a lot!
Hi Robert,
You are right abot reseller, but Holzmann sent the machine directly from Austria.

Thanks - nice to see an honest review. I was considering the Axminster clone of this machine and have decided against it. Appreciated.
Consider their Trade machines, I've heard they are well made. Cheers
If you can get the spiral head, you will not regret it. It is superb. Cheers
Thank you, I was about to buy one, but now I`m not buying any Holzmann.
Thanks Andrea, really useful and honest review. Congratulations
very helpfull, just was going to order the same machine :)...hopefully you'll have better luck with other manufacturer, would be great to know which one you pick. thanks
Thanks for posting the video, I have similar experiences with my Holzmann ED1000N dig lathe. No help from the dealer or holzmann...
Sorry to hear that, their customer service is really terrible.
Thanks for the detailed and genuine review
Tolles Video und klasse 👍 Vorstellung 💡 genau auf diese Maschine Spar ich gerade Danke für das tolle Video 👋🏼👋🏼
Thank you I was going to buy one of these from machine mart, thought I would look for a review and now I am definitely not buying one bullet dodged
You're welcome. Best regards from Croatia 😊
Thanks for your honest review, can u please tell me your opinion on which bandsaw is better, makita lb1200f or metabo bas 318?
Hi John, thanks for your comment. I don't know these two bandsaws but both those manufacturers make good stuff so you should be ok with either of them. Try to search on google a bit and see what others say about them. Greetings from Croatia, Andrea
Thanks a lot for the on point review, to focus on the real function of the machine and actually measuring with proper tools and not just taking some pictures of some wood slabs ram trough. You certainly know how a planner should be used, big like.
Thanks Fabian. I tried to show the important stuff you should look for when buying either new or used. Cheers
Thank you .very helpfull. Im not going to buy from this manufacture
Thank you for this review, I just wanted to buy it, I will pass my way.
Thanks Jean. Regards from Croatia
@@AndreaArzensek that's great news on the refund!!!
I'm guessing the new one wasn't much better!!!
The Hammer A3-41 is another level all together. Much better machine but it is almost 5 times the price, still not perfect. We had problems with the tablesaw K3 but that is being solved. This never ends for us, we are just unlucky with power tools.
Its good to know because I was intwerested in a wood lathe from that company and now I will not buy it. thanks
Muchas gracias por este video tan honesto y útil. Estaba apunto de comprar la maquina. Menos mal que lo he visto a tiempo. Gracias otra vez.
Que bueno que te sirvio. Saludos desde Croacia.
Hello Andrea, what machine did you buy instead?
Not yet, I'm waiting for them to see what to do with this one. Maybe I'll get Felder K700 instead.
@@AndreaArzensek Felder K700 is a huge table saw, right? This one is a planer if i'm not mistaken :)
K700 is a table saw, not much bigger. Just better components amd sliding table
@@AndreaArzensek Ahh i see. What planer are you using now then? In the video you said you wanted to replace it.
Sorry I mixed the videos.
I bought Hammer A3-41 with spiral cutters and I'm very happy with it. Albeit, it is €4700 which is almost 5 times as Holzmann. But it is worth it.
Thank you for your honest review !!!
Will look for the another machine of different company.
Best regards from Poland!
You are welcome! I got Hammer A3-41 and it is a fantastic machine (but it costs almost 5 times as much).
@@AndreaArzensek I'm a beginner woodworker, so I'll stick to the low price lvl machines... ;)

I have purchased this one:

CORMAK PT 250
I hope that I will have fun with it ;)
@@kama5021 are you satisfied with the cormak?
This vid is sooo handy. I am looking for planer, I thought this is something worth the money. Well... Thanks for the video, it saved me 1000EURs
You're welcome T.
Best regards from Croatia
So, what are you using now? I was on page to order this machine, and then i saw your review :) Thanks. Did you bought another one?
Yes, we bought Hammer A3-41.
It is a much bigger and more expensive machine.
Still we experience some problem with jointer tables being out of coplanar.
Look into Jet jointers if money is tight. People seem to have good luck with them.
Yep. Same experience with Holzmann machines. Never Again!
Thanks. I was looking to buy one... I guess I need to look more.
Some people say they are happy with it. I have now Felder AD741 and I couldn't be happier, but it is 10X the cost. Best regards from Croatia 😊
Thanks for the video. I'm watching it too late since I've already ordered it. However... there are other users that have posted positive reviews, so I'm still hopeful!
I hope it will serve you well. Cheers
So, are you satisfied with your machine?
@@AndreaArzensek Hey Andreas. Actually, I'm quite happy with it. I have none of the problems you report. My machine looks slightly different to yours, so perhaps it's a revised model. Thanks for asking.
Hey Tiny :)
Thank you for your update. I'm very happy that it works for you. Greetings from Croatia 😊
Wow, that's a lot of problems to have with one machine. And some of them are serious issues. Sorry you had that experience. I hope they do the right thing and give you a full refund upon receiving the return.
Hi Steve,
I hope everything is well with you and your family.
They actually refunded me day after I published the video. As of today they still haven't arrived for the machine, it is taking space in my shop 😪
Wishing you all the best Steve
Like others, I was also thinking on buying machines from this company. But after your review I will not. Any other other brand you can advise? I need to find decent machines but at reasonable prices.
just saw the jointer on ebay, after a quick search on reviews, found this one,not buying...thanks
You're welcome. It seemed as a solid machine but ultimately I opted for Hammer and I'm satisfied now.
@@AndreaArzensek Which Hammer? I am thinking about the A3-31 and looking for unfaked and honest reviews and expieriences.
Anyway: Thanks for your video and congratulations to your final successful choice!
@@bitkipper Thanks, I have A3-41 with spiral cutters and I'm pretty happy with it. It is not perfect but it works. Spiral cutters are a must.
I was going to order this one. thx for the feedback. I will skip this brand. Which one did you take after this nightmare?
Hi Manu,
Now I'm waiting for Hammer A3-41 from Felder machines. It is 4 times as expensive but I hope this one will do the work.
Thanks for sharing this! Great review!
Giving back is a very exhausting process. Greetings from Turkey👋🤝
Greetings from Croatia 🍻
Tanks very much, i am so close to buy this. Tanks
You are welcome.
Thank you... I will avoid Holzmann machinery...
Well atleast you are back at youtube :)
Hi Hrvoje, yes - it has been quite a long time since I have posted. Now I'm back but I need a new jointer 🤣🤣🤣
Hola desde España,gracias por tu reseña,me parece muy valida y creible,yo ya he tenido algún problema con holzmann.Saludos
Gracias Jose, saludos desde Croacia!
Hi Gregor,
I have been to Totus (Šentvid, Ljubljana) and there I ordered Hammer machines from Felder corp.
Perdón cuanto costo la máquina?
Casi 1000 euros.
We all owe you a beer or something, thanks man I’ll just save up and go for a felder hammer
I have now Hammer A3-41 and I'm very pleased with it. Albeit almost 5 times the price but it is a lifetime machine.
@@AndreaArzensek Pretty cool
@@AndreaArzensek Big price difference from a Holzmann. :o
Yes it is, but it is also an entirely different machine and the build quality is really good.
That was a very fair-minded review; after having spent a lot of time and effort in getting it into the basement and trying hard, well, I'd had had an angry rant! Have you seen a different machine you might buy as a replacement?
There's no way I would accept any other machine from them anymore. After crappy scroll saw and now even crappier planer I gave up on them.
@@AndreaArzensek I can certainly understand that. I meant, have you seen an alternative manufacturers machine for a similar price?
Yup, but now that I saw some comments here I want to get Hammer A3 31. It is wider with helical head and it costs 3.5 times more. But it is a lifetime machine. I hope I'll get it soon. I really need a jointer/thicknesser.
