    I’ve only ever worked with Felder directly and I’ve had issues, in my case they were caused by me being an idiot. I busted my motor and had to order a new one. But I was amazed by their support. To figure out what caused the issue I was on support call for hours, hours! The technician stayed on with me the entire time. We took all the electrical stuff apart, tested everything. Eventually decided it needed a new motor. We ordered it. It showed up broken, due to shipper. They shipped a second one, different shipper and it came intact. I called the technician and again for an hour or so we worked together as they walked me through every step of the process. It worked great.
    I share this because you had a rough go of it and were wondering what someone with no influence would have experienced. I have no influence and can share that Felder support was excellent. I love my machine.

      I pin this comment because I have the same thoughts about Felder. I think they do want happy customers but they need to work better on QC (especially Hammer line) and with retailers. I know it's easier said than done but that is a key for successful business.
      Thank you for sharing your experience and I'm glad you've got it solved.

      That is an interesting thought, John. That exact project of yours was what got me started on woodworking. I have been doing well with a Makita 2704n for years now, but want to get something more pro, and found the Holzmann and Andreas’s video ☹️ then I loooked at Felder and thought this is possible, and now I find this video end the previous one… what is one to do?!

      @@AndreaArzensek I'm no linguistic expert but I think learning a second language when you're not a kid is always a struggle, unless you're somewhere when nobody understand your language, and you're e forced to speak it every day. You see I barely speak English elsewhere than in my videos. OK they're those so few Skype sessions ;) But I only watch and listen to English so my understanding is pretty good. But around here in Montreal, a lot of people speaks both our nation's official languages; English and French. We have a friend, and her husband wanted to learn french, because he's from another part of the country. To do so they moved for a year in France, because around here everybody can speak English to a certain level. So I'm pretty amazed to see how your English is good, for someone who's not surrounded, like us here in Quebec, by 400 millions English speaking people.

    Excellent Job!
    Your review was most informative, and your advice to contact the manufacture rather than the retailer is definitely the best way to approach the issue. Retailers are little more than another "middle man" in the delivery chain. While I cannot speak about other countries, in Canada and the USA, retailers often have little ability, and virtually no responsibility, to resolve warranty issues for products once the consumer takes delivery.
    Here, all warranties (explicit and implied) rest solely with the manufacturer, and they have the right to require the consumer to register the purchase in order to activate those warranties. Traditionally, this was done through filling out and mailing prepaid post cards. Today however, many manufacturers require registration via the internet. Registration is used to ensure that the date of purchase is accurately noted so that all parties are protected from abuse of the warranties. Also, since these warranties are considered legal contracts, it ensures that they are held between the original owner and the manufacturer (generally warranties do not transfer when a product is re-sold or given to a third party).
    Sadly, many consumers fail to register the purchases with the manufacturer, and thus loose their warranty coverage due to their own elegance. Many manufacturers are very reasonable about repair and replacement for defects in materials or workmanship during the warranty period, but it is the consumers responsibility to register the product in a timely manner, and to abide by the terms for repair or replacement. While I agree that such terms are often inconvenient, sometimes bordering on absurd, they are nevertheless what we as consumers agree to when we choose to purchase, and accept delivery of, a product. Which is why consideration of the manufacturer's reputation for quality and warranty of a product is an important part of all consumer purchases.
    Overall you have shown remarkable diligence and patients in dealing with the Felder company, and it appears that it has paid off nicely for you in the end. Here is wishing you the best of luck and future enjoyment of your new saw. You are an incredible craftsman my young friend.

    • @AndreaArzensek
      @AndreaArzensek  3 года назад +1

      Hi Michael,
      That was good insight on how things work with warranties, I really didn't know that or thought about customer having to fill the warranty online.
      For us it indeed paid out to be patient but in a way I'd be much more content if the first saw was working properly. Now, you see, I also have problems with the jointer A3-41.
      Thank you for your kind words.
      Best regards from Croatia

      I have this K700 and jointer/planer combo AD741 and they are almost perfect. K700 has some little annoying things that are easily fixable and the AD741is perfect except for the stupid handle to change the infeed/outfeed roller speed. The damn thing is so hard to get in 6m/min speed - just ridiculous. I need to put force of full body weight to put it in neutral an back to 6m. The 12m/min is a bit easier but still it is shitty. Luckily everything else on the machine is top notch so I can temporarily forget about the speed lever issue 🤣

    Ive heard table flatness was an issue on one or two customers planers. I waited 10 months and 9 months for 2 jet machines, seems like covid and supply chain issues plays havoc with deliverys. Good to know felder put it right in the end. Amazing how a little publicity ensures companies do the right thing😅. Sounds like the third party seller and delivery company share much of the blame . For those prices the company should ensure customer satisfaction 👍.

    Andrea, you seem like a very decent guy, and I’m glad you got some kind of resolution. I still think it’s a shame you had to spend so much of your time, negotiating with the company, and not just being able to do your work. I remain convinced that the hammer machines are of abysmal quality, and would never even consider owning another one. The sad thing is that, worse than the quality of the machines, is the quality of their customer service and their integrity. if anyone is curious, I have built my career for 47 years around an Ulmia table saw, made in Germany. In almost 45 years of use, defense has never been out of alignment, not at all, neither has the cross cut table, and the motor still spins quietly and perfectly, and cuts like a dream. sadly, I don’t think they’re still being produced, but it is by far the highest quality woodworking machine I’ve ever owned. it has never required a single repair, or been even the slightest bit out of adjustment in all that time. even the representative from Felder, when I commented on all the flaws in his machine, replied, “ well nobody can make a ship machine that really works that well”. Then I told him I had an Ulmia, and he got very quiet. so clearly, an extremely high-quality machine could be made, Felder just doesn’t want to take the time or spend the money on it.

      Hi Jonathan,
      In the end they did the right thing and offered me to change for any saw we wished. We chose Felder K700 and it is completely different machine than Hammer. We paid the difference and got a nice discount on it (somewhere around €1000)
      It is very well built machine (not Ulmia perfect) and it seems it will run for a lifetime. All in all I'm very satisfied now. We have done the same with our jointer planer and changed it for AD741 with power drive. I know only for Ulmia wooden hand planes and they seem of excellent quality. Best regards from Croatia 😊

    Glad you got this all sorted and that Felder took care of you in the end. The shipping times were a bit nuts due to COVID stuff; but it takes a few months for them to make a machine anyway, because due to all of the options, 6they are made to order. It took most of a year to get my shaper from them, but they were accurate in their shipping estimation for me.
    The K700 is a great saw. I have a K700P with a slightly longer table. Also, my dust port is on the right of the saw instead of the rear.
    I'm not surprised about the video causing a reaction. What usually happens in companies is that someone higher up sees it and then tells the person you're dealing with to take care of you.

      After 2 years of quite good use (hence the lack of my YT videos) I can confirm that both K700 and AD741 are very well built machines. They are not perfect, as then you'd have to look into Martin (maybe Altendorf) machines. Slight drawback with AD741 is the planer feed speed adjusting lever. It is quite hard to engage/disengage. I see myself doing something about it but I couldn't find time as it works(requires some filing of the catching bar tooth in the steel frame). For my next upgrade I'd definitely go for Felder 900's series and 3 phase motors (standard) as they are much more resilient and powerful. Best regards

    • @AndreaArzensek
      @AndreaArzensek  3 года назад +1

      Yes, I unlisted it because I'm not happy with it. I will be changing it for Felder AD 741. Since I made the same with the K3 Winner to K700 upgrade I have not regretted it. I believe Felder is a great company but currently has serious issues at the Hammer line products.
      I will be getting AD741 in November and until I will make do with A3-41. I know that sound silly at this price range for A3-41 but I'm really not happy with jointer performance. Planer (thicknesser) mode on A3-41 works fantastic every single time almost a year now, so with that function it exceeded my expectations.
      It is less than 0.05mm on 405mm width!
      Jointer cannot produce flat edge because tables go out of parallel quite soon after being dialed in.
      This happened to a lot of Hammer users recently, and that confirms there is a problem. I thought I got a lemon, but it seems there are plenty of lemon trees at the factory.

      I did ask for K700 with discount due to my problems and Felder delivered. Now I really like that machine and if something comes up I won't be tied in some kind of contract not to publish a video where I can tell what I want and honesty think about the machine.
      I got burned in the past doing paid sponsorship for the tools didn't like so I had to return them. I therefore like to pay for the tool or if it is sponsored it has to be a tool that is absolutely worth it.
      That is the relation I have with BESSEY and I can say that their clamps are absolutely the best ones (albeit not inexpensive) I ever used and I can recommend them to anyone sponsored or not.

      You seem to be quite right, I'm really thankful for all the people who follow me and support me because this would have been unimaginable. Greetings from Croatia!
