    That is a brilliant idea for attaching routers. Most plates fit one or two different models only. This is great. One thing missing is the vacuum underneath. That would help a lot. Other than that, this is a great piece of equipment.

    Without a mechanism to finely adjust the height of the router cutter from the top, this setup becomes a lot less usable.

  • @fngrusty42
    @fngrusty42 Месяц назад +6

    Sure is pretty, is it actually needed. Built custom home for 45 years, including cabinets, fancy closets, plus everything built in custom homes. Had a place for a router on my table saw. You can spend a ton of money buying pretty tools. But you're better off just getting what you need when you need it. Actually, it's more about the time it takes. A shaper was a lot faster when creating custom trim. It also saved a ton of time using saw mills that did that work . These are fun to play with but not intended for production work. Now, would i own this. Yes if i had the room and extra money i would love to buy all the tools out there to play with them . May just be great for some small applications.

    • @avswood
      @avswood  Месяц назад +3

      Thank you for your feedback! It’s always great to hear from a professional with such extensive experience. For mass production, large and powerful machines are indeed faster and more efficient for the job.
      However, I aim to showcase tools that are practical for those working in their workshops, garages, or on-site installations. These tools are high-quality and versatile solutions for a variety of projects.
      Their fair price reflects their quality, and those who value craftsmanship and take pride in creating great products will likely find these tools both accessible and useful.

    DO you realize that USA Mitre slots are smaller than metric... I have 4 mitre slots and bought a Banggood sled for routing (not inexpensive) the mitre bar will not go in any of my slots. Jet Table saw, Shopsmith tool, Shopsmith router table, or Enlon Shaper. The metric bar is a little too wide. Hope you can fix this some day... I would order a nice mitre gauge for the table saws but I know the bar wont fit in any of the slots. Please fix it.

    • @avswood
      @avswood  Месяц назад

      Thank you for your feedback! It’s important to carefully check the product description before purchasing, as many tools offer different variants for metric and imperial (USA standard) slots. Some manufacturers provide multiple size options to fit various miter slots. If this isn’t the case for the product you purchased, it might be worth reaching out to the seller or manufacturer for clarification or alternative solutions. Let me know if I can help further!

    Almost perfect. All that's missing is a sliding top so that the material doesn't slide across the top by rubbing it. Half of the top with a thin extension to and abowe the cutting tool with the material attached. This sliding top would have a T-rail attached to the bottom and a sliding strip with rollers as a lower guide so that the spoil doesn't collect in the T-rail groove. (The guides should be reversed, the T-track should be at the top to slide over the slider with rollers)

      @ if you look at the bottom crossbars front and back, the way you have attached them they have a larger lip on the bottom inside. That way a lot of dust will collect there because it forms a shelf that will hold a lot of sawdust. If you flip them so that the wider part is on the top facing inward, then there is no longer a place where dust can collect and pile up on the inside, and the smooth surface on the top of the crossbar gives the table a more finished and sturdier look.

      I understand your situation. You need to look at both options and weigh the pros and cons. Perhaps you don’t necessarily need such high-quality execution, and you could easily go for a more budget-friendly option. If specific features or warranties are important to you, it’s worth considering all the details. However, if maximum quality isn’t required, it might be worth looking into more affordable alternatives.

    They have nice things, but…
    When you get something broken, they won’t pay your money back. Try to offer you points of half of the price, like it’s some kind of negotiation platform.
    It’s a nightmare dealing with them.

      Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that you had difficulties. Personally, I haven’t had any defective items, though some products were not of the highest quality - but given their low price compared to competitors, it was expected. I recommend reaching out to customer support with your order details; hopefully, they can help in your case.

      Thank you for your comment, Bill! I understand how important it is to approach purchases thoughtfully, especially when there are such important priorities. It’s great that you keep working on your projects despite this. I’m sure that when you save up for the right tools, your work will be even more impressive. Thank you for your support and patience - good luck to you!

    ... only before #7:30 show chipping devices - and then suddenly freehand over long pages. VERY dangerous! RUclips isn't everything - technical training is important for such work (not just "nice")... THX anyway for showing the tools

    They look good but at that price they should be. In my opinion they are too expensive and if you have a problem with them there is no warranty, then you throw them of the window

    • @avswood
      @avswood  21 день назад

      At first glance, it seems expensive, but if you think about how long they will last and how good they look, it’s worth it. Sometimes it’s better to buy a quality item once than to keep replacing cheap options every year.
