    Does Jessem no longer have this patent?

    • @masterfranco1991
      @masterfranco1991 День назад +1

      they are copying it without permission for sure

      Copying patented products nowadays inevitably leads to legal consequences. Intellectual property rights are strictly protected, so most likely, everything in this case is done within the law.

      @@avswood My brother is a patent lawyer ... and everything you said was wrong. The vast majority of patents are violated and companies don't have the funds to hunt down Chinese manufacturers that violate the law.

      Yup, as soon as I saw the Chinese crap made by a 14 year old being paid 3 dollars a day I clicked off.

      @@avswood According to ChatGPT, Jessem still maintains several patents on their Stock Guides, and there is no evidence that Hongdui has a licensing agreement agreement with Jessem. If this is true, personally I would question the ethics of endorsing such a product.

    You should not pull the stock from behind the saw. Use a push stick. Probably OK with these rollers, but asking for trouble in a normal setup.
    Otherwise good stuff.

    • @avswood
      @avswood  День назад +1

      You are correct that without hold-downs, it can indeed be unsafe in certain situations. However, with hold-downs in place, the workpiece is securely pressed against the table, and the rollers, which only turn in one direction, prevent it from being kicked back. This greatly enhances the safety of the operation.

      These products are also of good quality, so there’s no point in overpaying for a brand. However, sometimes low-quality items can be found on this site, so it’s important to check reviews and compare prices. High-quality products can’t be too cheap!

    Il n'y a pas besoin de presseur sur une scie circulaire

    • @avswood
      @avswood  2 дня назад

      When working on a table saw, using hold-downs significantly simplifies the process, especially when cutting large sheets or long strips. These hold-downs not only secure the material to the table but also press it against the side fence, ensuring precision and safety. Additionally, with rollers that rotate in only one direction, the workpiece is firmly held in place, preventing it from being pulled away from the saw. Such hold-downs are versatile and can be used not only on table saws but also on router tables and milling machines.

      @avswood je suis menuisier a la retraite et en plus de 40 ans de métier je n'ai jamais vu un menuisier utiliser un presseur sur un scie circulaire

      Your experience is truly impressive, and in a furniture production setting, where speed is crucial, hold-downs might indeed seem unnecessary. However, when working for yourself without any rush, and prioritizing safety and precision, such tools become very useful. They are especially helpful when you’re working alone, as they securely hold the workpiece, making the process easier and reducing the risk of mistakes or injuries.

    More unnecessary shiny aluminium with lots of engraved millimetres which of course every woodworker must have 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

    • @avswood

      Not every woodworker may need it, but many appreciate tools that combine functionality and precision with a sleek design. The engraved measurements, for example, can save time and add convenience for those who prioritize accuracy in their work. It’s all about finding the right tool for your specific needs and workflow!
