Most CAN-Bus based VAG vehicles (and all built since late-2009) use PWM dimming so this isn’t an issue for owners of those marques. An interesting feature of some is the use of PWM dimming for certain bulbs in place of fitting dual-filament types, meaning a standard 21W single-filament bulb (or LED) can serve double duty as both a 5W tail light *and* a 21W brake light with no need for a second filament. This also extends the life of filament bulbs, I recently swapped out the halogen bulbs on my 10 year old VW for LEDs and was surprised to see it still had the original factory bulbs fitted from new. For those that don’t know, PWM lighting control is responsible for the funky strobing effects you see in high-speed video of cars fitted with LEDs, an effect not seen with filament bulbs due to the high switching rate of LEDs.
Thank you for this video! Greatly appreciate the effort and time you put into this, and the education value alone is worth the watch.
Im a huge fan of LED source lights, and on today subscribes your channel. Thank You for your tests.
Useful info!!! The cornering lights, as you said, in many cases are shared with the fog lights so it's needed a lower temperature than the 6000k usually the led bulbs offer.
Great video as usual!
Cool. Useful and concise like always. Keep it up. 👨🔧🤴
Mult succes cu acest canal
Thank you for doing this video 🙂
Thank you for your videos
Thanks this really helped
Muchas gracias
I did it in my Kia Carens and worked fine.
Good vid.
Nice one
Thanks my friend. 🇧🇪 🇹🇷
You need to use a capacitor packs in line to stabilize the voltage on some cars for the leds to work. Won't dim, but wont flicker.
thank you
u r great , thanks
Hi man, do you need a canbus adapter, do these bulbs report an error( Passat B8 2016) tnx
Please tell me which one is the best of best led ..
What about Japanese cornering lights? In my Cedric, the cornering lights only turn on instantly when using the signals and immediately turn off. Would an LED be a good idea then?
How can I buy the bevinsee in Europe??? You posted USA Amazon links
I did this with STEDI led for my kia, dimmed perfectly but I'm more concerned of them being too bright as it is a reflector housing
Multumesc Catalin N
wow 👍
nice fcy
Passat b8 corner. the led only turns on and off, the dimming function is missing. anyone have an idea?
I thought fog lights illuminate better for the driver at a warm temperature, 2700K.
Great video, we thank you for your effort.
Not always. You can also use leds that go more in 4000 k and not in blue tint 6000
is there a way I can install corner lights on my non corner light car?
If you have a japanese vehicle you could acquire the JDM position/cornering light assembly and set it to work with your signal lights.
Sergiu, notice us !
I think the new Morimotos 3.0 can dim down to quite a low amount of voltage.
Try f3 and f5 led. One of the brightest led in the market
Someday someone will figure out a retrofittable matrix lighting system.. Some EU countries already have laws that could allow stuff like this in light bars.
Can you test genuine air filter vs kn air filter?
Yeah, I'll test some air filters in the future, predominantly european brands. Until that, you can check out Project Farm's channel as he performed some tests on air filters. K&N didn't have great results in my opinion 😅
@@SergiuGabor i definitely recommend project farm aswell. That guy does great tests!
Led bulbs in fog or cornering blinking other drivers
Rog ajutor pentru subtitrare. Ce trebuie sa fac sa imi apara pe clip traducerea in romana a ce spune nenea Sergiu in engleza ?
Apasă pe butonul CC (closed captions)
o varianta ar fi sa inveti engleza! :))
I prefer my adaptive headlights. I put LED for my low/high beams and regular halogen for dogs for bad weather
Nice video. But not all cars use dimming on cornering lights. My new vw do not use dimming. Just on and off. The cars that use dimming can be adjusted by reprogramming that electronic unit. In my case at vw if i put leds on fog i got error bulb message. I need to change the load of the circuits to led the computer know that it has leds with 15w for example and not halogen with 35w
Hi! How do you change the load on VW? Using VCDS? Which coding? Thanks
@@a.f.1587 it depends on your car model... in control units- > central electrics (09) -> adaptation -> after that depend what light do you want to change and what leds are you using. also obdeleven is better than vcds
@@3mariusx thanks, i will try it out. I do own vcds already, i won't buy other stuff just for bulb adjustment.
A. F. Hello, sory for my late reply. It is hard for me to assist you here. Please provide some form of contact and i will help you.
@@3mariusx Why do you think obdeleven is better than vcds?
Detalii suplimentare poți găsi in videoclipul anterior in care e o analiză completă. Link in descriere.
I had them fitted and they last 2 months and died.
Salut.
Keep up the good work!
@@SergiuGabor Amazon germania. Sunt cam 130 euro.
Dimming interior lights plz!!! Led interior lights suck cause i will lose features such as the welcome lights in my car
Who pays for these products?
i didnt want to click on the video but as i read cornering light i did just because a bought leds for mine and they are bad i mean pattern is really shit :D
Led might be good but it will destroy your Headlight wich is made for Halogen.
why would it destroy it ? Leds have a cooler working temperature compared to halogens
@@velicuemil5299 Halogen Lights have Chrome as reflectors, the led will burn it away after some time and then there is no more reflection to the street.
@@manfredgeorgburggraf533 but why would it do that ? Since it`s lower temperature ? Halogen lights, if i`m not mistaken operate at about 300 degrees Celsius, while Led`s at about 130 degrees.
@@velicuemil5299 I have no idea why exactly. On my Golf 5 with aftermarket LED after one year the lights were blind since the chrome has disappeared.
This is not true. As Emil explained above, the reflective coating of the headlight is designed to withstand the high temperature of a halogen bulb and is a metallic coating applied with electro plating arc. Furthermore, genuine LED headlights designed and installed in newer cars use the same coating and working principle. They have other flaws, but this is not one of them 😅
LEDs are not good for fog.
Please, no LEDs for headlights or such! They are such a pain for oncoming traffic!
If they’re installed properly and adjusted, they can be normal but not everyone installs them properly and adjust them
@@sherman4121 That's the whole problem! 90% of people who install aren't professionally trained. Hell, most don't even realize the angle of downward tilt needed for setting up headlights.
