I actually cried when he died like I knew he was going to be written off somehow for her to go back to Seattle but I wasn’t expecting that way. I swear the writers were just inventing new ways to torture Meredith and Christina back then
Yeah, it was sad, but what a way to go out. Dude was a legend dying in the OR. He had the good sense to fall backward and not forward over the patient.
But just someone she understood but he taught her patience. As the fans know Yang is very smart, intelligent and FAST. They want to do things 1.2.3 fast, jump from surgery to surgery. He taught her to SLOW DOWNNNNN and have your signature.
I think he also made her truly realize she can't be the great surgeon she wants to be alone. She won't thrive without support, and losing him made her realize that she needs those deep connections to truly flourish. @@Theemikebell
I think he is the one that had the best impact on Christina, I mean, Burke and Teddy made her an excellent surgeon, but he made her one of the best, not just a surgeon, but as a whole person.
He made her understand that you can learn a lot from someone even though they don't have the same style as you. He humbled her without doing a show of force like everyone tries to do. His death hurt me even though it was obviously going to happen for the show. Great character!
@@kelvisaisawesome Burke made her realize she cannot forgoe her aspirations for love because then she wouldn't be who she wanted to be. I think with Thomas, he made her realize a lot about herself professionally but moreso at this point in the series, his death made her realize she does not and will not be successful by herself which is why she went back to Seattle. She did not want to be successful and alone and she deserves both (which she told Meredith later on).
After watching this i remember Cristina's father passed away when she was young and maybe that's why she was always having sexual relationships with the most prominent man in whatever setting she was in (older men too), but Dr Thomas was so far out of that range so he couldn't be that. But he challenged her and saw her, and was like a father figure to her in a way all her other mentors were not. I think his acknowledgements were the first that really meant something to her. And he's the first mentor that didn't try and make her into something she's not, take something from her, use her, or get bowled over by her.
-Don’t hold your breath, you stop thinking when you stop breathing, breathe It is a phrase that I have marked and present in everything because it applies to many things.
She was the last person/thing he saw before dying… no he looked at her because he wanted her to be the last thing he saw before closing his eyes forever
It is so funny how this actor played a surgeon on st elsewhere, which is one of the 1st medical dramas ever, and his character resembles that of Christina’a on grey’s. I think it’s like a huge crossover where true fans of medical dramas really would appreciate.
Cristina lost her dad at a young age. I think he filled that role for her for a while. He looked out for her, taught her, made sure she ate. Joked with her, he admired her and loved her and he really made his mark on her. She needed him, and I think he needed her
Gonna confess: This was one of the few times i cried watching Grey’s Anatomy, being in the same category as: Denny’s death, Lexie’s and Mark’s death, Derek’s death, Japril’s first son (Samuel, if i’m not wrong) storyline, and Lexie’s, Mark’s, George’s and Derek’s first appearance after their deaths (and those weren’t even tears, just that my voice cracked and i felt like my heart was going to explode, so they are worth mentioning). Yup, Craig Thomas, I love you.
He was the only one who undestend Cristina 100% and why she is controling e why she always wanna to be the best one... one of the best frienships of Grey's
Honestly this friendship was the shining light of those few episodes when they were separated. I have genuinely "watched" those episodes just fast-forwarding to their parts....genuinely if they had more screen time I might go as far to say I prefer this friendship over hers and mers
I love how as he grows on her she defends him more and more even when the head doctor was trying to push him out because he’s older. It broke my heart when he died in that operation room, and fell during surgery. “Don’t look for friends here, you won’t find them”.
I'm crying. Just bawling. Those last few words were so impactful, heavy, and aspirational... This was and forever will be one of my favourite memories from Grey's...
As a person that watch Mr. Finny from Boy Meets World and getting introduced to Greys by my wife. I knew he would impact this show as much as he did before
Cristina’s most intimate and cherished relationships were with her teachers and mentors. In those relationships, the writers and Sandra Oh show Cristina’s most profound and transformative periods of growth. She found people who accepted and nurtured her for who she was and the exceptional potential they saw in her to make a difference in the world. Cristina’s arc shows us how romantic love was not the most meaningful love she had found in her life and it does not have to be one’s ultimate goal. Rather, one can find the most purpose, freedom, acceptance, and the best version of themselves through other kinds of love & relationships. Cristina is relationship anarchy goals
Christina was my favourite character, I stopped watching when she left. She was so interesting and multi-level. Professional, an iron heart but yet so warm. Loved her.
From 2:40 to 2:48 just reminds me of the scene where Christina was pregnant and passed out in the or and burke basically said and did everything Christina said and did in the scene
This is one of the few times I actually cried because of a fictional character's death. I wish that instead of dying, he'd have just moved away and when Cristina got Burke's institute, she'd hire him there along with Ross

I love every hospital show he's in,and I really love them together
HE WAS SO COOL AND THE WAY CRISTINA FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE WHO NOT ONLY UNDERSTOOD HER BUT SUPPORTED HER TOO omg

Teddy was def her best teacher. I love how dr. Thomas saw Cristina for who she is!
It's Feenie tho....of course he made an impact
He was definately a fatherfigure for her, since she lost hers young
Aww I never thought of that before ❤️❤️💔
This was one of the best friendships on the show
This is what Richard and Arizona tried to be
@@VOID-gz6jk yup but i also liked that friendship

@@VOID-gz6jk easily
But shonda had to end in a heartbreaking way. As always 😒😞
In my opinion, his legacy and teaching impacted Christina more than Teddy and Burke. He made her "human".
He made her understand that you can learn a lot from someone even though they don't have the same style as you. He humbled her without doing a show of force like everyone tries to do. His death hurt me even though it was obviously going to happen for the show. Great character!

yes. love this

He made her laugh even when she was teary... Ooh how great
He was one of my favourite characters even though he wasn’t on the show for so long, he was just such a comfort person.
He was legit the only person who 100% understood Christina Yang!!!
He was once a Christina and he saw that spark in her, like father like daughter 😢
Even when living another life, Mr. Feeny never stops teaching.
I was looking for this comment.
Yes
they’re the definition of underrated friendship
“I’m your dream come true”
“You’re right…”
That’s when I knew he was going to die. What a moment

he elevated Cristina to a whole another level above the rest of the surgeons
he was the one who unlocked her full potential ❤️
My favourite Cristina dynamic ❤❤❤ I honestly would've been okay with her staying there forever if he hadn't died.
She was the last person/thing he saw before dying… no he looked at her because he wanted her to be the last thing he saw before closing his eyes forever

Craig: That is the truth😭😭😭😭😭
Rest in peace Dr. Craig Thomas
he was incredible--this show really needed someone like him who didnt have so much crap
This friendship was so underrated... one of the best friendships of GA
My favorite friendship from the show
I believe that they were soulmates (in a friendship nonromantic way)
im not crying my eyes are just sweaty
I love how as he grows on her she defends him more and more even when the head doctor was trying to push him out because he’s older. It broke my heart when he died in that operation room, and fell during surgery. “Don’t look for friends here, you won’t find them”.
Cristina grew and learned so much from him ❤️literally bawled my eyes out when he died
This episode was written beautifully. With all the split scenes and then this scene where he dies. Absolutely brilliant.
When I first saw him on the show I was like "FEENY!!"
When he died I was like "Feenyyyy.... :("
They are each other's "dream come true"
The fact that they're so open and raw to each other
This was a type of magic I never knew I needed to see. It was my favourite Cristina storyline.
The greatest, purest friendship in the show ❤️
YOU HAVE GREATNESS IN YOU YANG. DON'T DISAPPOINT!!!
Ok but their friendship was amazing... i cried when he died:(
Omg I just watched the episode when he dies I cried so hard 😢
This was such a special relationship ❤️
Such an underrated friendship. They were so adorable ❤
They both understood each other so well
How perfect that the original superstar heart surgeon of TV - Dr Mark Craig of St Elsewhere- passed on the torch to Dr Christina Yang.

Beloved actor, great acting and chemistry with them- so believable! And terrific storyline. Maybe just too short ❤❤❤
the amount of times, i am here to this video; just crying my eyes out. every damn time.

He still teaches like Mr.Feeny. Cristina was completely a Cory for a wile. (Boy Meets World references.)

He was soooo amaizing they made one of the best scenes in the show
Mr. Feeny never stops teaching.

This is one of my if not my favorite arc on Grey's
He was one of my favourite characters
My favorite story line of the series. Ever.
When he ordered an old fashioned, I laughed so hard. He was a really great character
Thomas and Yang, Teddy and Henry, Mark and Lexie and Meredith and DeLuca, all beautiful connections
Crying now thanks X

Their teasing 🥰
The best mentorship❤
When Christina was asking if he was ok after he collapsed, I always think about when Burke was in the middle of a surgery and Christina collapsed
I'm sure this is the unique time in 18 seasons that I've cried a lot 😢, when he died
Feen-nay!!
MY FAV PART OF GREYS
Always the teacher 👍
Is this the same actor that played Mr. Feeny on Boy Meets World?
#For something i believe in..
It’s strange that a show like that is making me wanna take a very life changing decision that I’ve always was afraid of taking
They understood each other better than anyone understood them
They ended this relationship too early 😭😭
