I saw the BAFTA rendition and it was great. However, the original is still the best for me. That connection she made to her parents while auditioning was superb! Bridging the gap indeed! Always makes me cry! 😭😭
I have no idea about the movie this is apparently from, but the way the singer incorporates sign language into her performance reminds me of my mother, who learned sign language (not because she's Deaf) when I was little, and her instructors suggested that their students practice by signing along to songs. 😻
It's definitely the inclusion of ASL that got her accepted. Music schools live it when applicants can bring something different to their performances, and a singer who also performs with ASL is a great inclusion.
@@timm2424 Oh dear, yet another one who cannot differentiate between a storyline in a movie and real life nor read or comprehend comments. My comment was in direct response to a comment which specifically referenced the movie's storyline, "It's definitely the inclusion of ASL that got her accepted."!!! In the movie, CODA, what got her accepted to the Berklee College of Music was what was written in the screenplay and script. My comment does not deny anything that can happen in reality because I did not specifically reference reality. Thank you for exposing your ignorance. I hope you do not represent the future of the human species.
What a ridiculous thing to argue about. We all knew what was meant in the first comment and it was a nice point about why what happened was realistic, making the scene that much greater.
@@adamfuller3296 What argument!!! This is a discussion of fact. Yet, you decide it is ridiculous, but then go to great lengths to comment. Now that is the true sign of a real idiot. 🤣 Keep on trolling, little princess.
Sorry Chet K, it is the song itself from start to finish. Most of the other RUclips videos on this song cut off the last few seconds. For most of us, that was a bit frustrating. If you actually watched the movie (CODA), you would have seen that there was no judges reaction(s) to Ruby's performance (played by Emilia Jones). This wasn't American Idol.
@@AerialDronePhotography yeah, I guess the movie Coda is only on Apple TV, I don't use apple products, don't have apple tv etc,, so I am unable to watch the movie
I don’t know why I always cry when I watch this video 😢
Because you have a deep heart…
me too
I crying and suddenly think about my life
because its so stunning
Same for me so far.
I’ve seen this more times than I care to admit. I like the whole scene. 🎬

Original.....Joni Mitchell?
I think this could be better than the original
I appreciate that Matt. A lot of effort went into editing and adding subtitles.
I agree! This is so moving…😊
That's blasphemy. 😂
Definitely better than the original song. And great job on the video. Ty for doing it
There are some things I prefer about the original and some things I prefer about this one. They’re different.
everytime i watch this brings me to tears
Softie. I bet I can watch it without ... without ... oh damnit 😭😭😭
🤣🤣 me too.

It’s my favorite song and I love music. But this is superb.

This is from the movie CODA (child of deaf adults). Wonderful movie.
You definitely must watch the film. It's called CODA. JUST BRILLIANT.
@@kimsartain4126 Ahhh, thank you! ♥

One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Just a tremendous movie
great, im crying again
Thank you for this.
My pleasure...
When I got my Yale acceptance letter, everyone in my family jumped up and down just like her family.
Great version! Love it.
Thanks! It's getting annoying with the cut off the end for the other versions. She got me at the clouds 1:00.
Happy to help...
Made me smile...❤
If Emilia doesn't get cast as the voice of a Disney princess, something is wrong in the universe.
I’m crying watching this…
cutting the end off was driving me crazy too. Why would people do that?

What!!! It is a movie, it was in the script, FFS! 🙄
@@andrewmgodden But in real life, the thought is valid.
