I got food poisoning from a burger once. I couldn't even hold down water but luckly that only lasted 24 hours. Im glad it didn't last any longer as I read months later that if you can't hold down fluids you can easily die from dehydration. I would have had no idea that was happening.

Man, I’ve been eating medium rare chicken for 12 years now, I turned out fine.
The stomach acid usually kills the bacteria but if it enters your bloodstream, and it can, it will eat away at your nerves and cause life threatening damage or death from GBS

Not sure about dogs but I've actually read several articles about cats getting salmonella poisoning and going to the vet as a result. They can get sick from its.
Its also a bit wrong when people assume they cant get sick because "its their natural diet" as diseases in itself is already something natural that happens to just about every species. Nature is not perfect. I even remember a school field trip where the teachers told us that reindeers would get sick from the lichen they were grazing on due to infection (dont remember if its virus or bacteria or parasite or whatever, but it was an ongoing problem)
Different stomach, they can take down bacteria in raw food due to their survival instinct that their ancestors passed on. But you still shouldn't give them that due to other bacteria and viruses that get through instead of getting taken down.

Lies, I've eaten raw chicken many many times and never got sick from it, i get it from a good source.
Food poisoning isn’t fun. Trust me, I should know. I had a bratwurst and it wasn’t cook all the way and it was terrible the next day.

I had some breaded strips and cooked them for 20 minutes. Half of them were cooked but when I got to the uncooked strip it was too late. Do you I have anything to worry about? It was cooked for 20 minutes so it was completely raw

If you absolutely have to eat raw chicken, make sure it is as fresh as possible... make sure to really rinse it well and if you have access to lemon marinade it with lemon as the acid will help minimize bacterial growth. Not remove or kill it, but slow it down.
I know this is three years old but why would you HAVE to eat raw chicken? Raw chicken can kill you. You get salmonella from it. I've had it and it is HORRIBLE> (Russell)
