i only stayed in rome a couple days in my travels across europe, but it was so lovely.
on the very first night that i arrived i unexpectedly passed by multiple monuments on my way to have dinner. (the colosseum, the pantheon, the trevi fountain) after also viewing these places the next day i can undoubtedly say that i recommend viewing them at night, they are so much more magical somehow.
i stopped for brunch at ristorante museo canova tadolini, it almost seemed a crime that they did not charge an entry fee to this place. the cafe was once the studio of antonio canova and his apprentice tadolini, so the tables are nestled in between all of their sculptures and tools. quite possibly my favorite cafe in the world.
of course i had to visit the vatican museums and while it was very pretty and interesting and filled with amazing art pieces and grand architecture, i'll have to admit i was a bit put off by how gaudy it was.
the real treasures of rome, i think, can be found on the streets. at statues lining bridges or carved into the sides of buildings at random intersections. and you'll find some of the most beautiful paintings on the ceilings of random cathedrals. we wandered into so many, whenever we came across them, and always always found that they were more beautiful than anything in the vatican. (and the workers were always so kind and encouraging towards our taking photos and videos).
i headed to the borghese gallery and museum, which was unfortunately already closed upon arrival. so instead i wandered around the park and gardens surrounding it, which was equally as impressive as i'm sure the museum would have been.
i ate pizza, pasta, gelato. explored some of the quirkiest antique shops. gawked at the adorably tiny traffic lights on the cobblestone roads.
and then i packed up for the next place. ciao rome!

I feel like in Europe a lot of us take the history for granted because (depending on where you live) we see it everyday. My American friends are often so fascinated by how old everything is which is really refreshing. It's lovely to see someone else appreciate this wonderful continent.
American here, and yes, it’s so amazing to see things that are centuries old. I have family in Greece, and it was so hard to comprehend as a teenager how old the ancient structures were that we visited (like Knossos).
I’m an American, and I get excited when I see something that’s two hundred years old! You Europeans are extremely lucky!
@@sophian9105 European here, I get excited when things are new. I moved to the US in ‘18, and I think your country has beautiful and varied landscapes. It has people from all over the world that have come together to build something really beautiful.
I think often we want what we don’t have!

There's something a bit nostalgic about your videos, like something so familiar and yet a memory I can't bring into focus... but your videos are always so heart-achingly beautiful and comforting. LOVED the style of this! I visited Rome when I was 15 and absolutely adored everything about it so this brought back all my memories so vividly, especially how they don't have anything for breakfast but cornettos and coffee!
My boyfriend and I journeyed around Rome about a year and a half ago and we still talk about it often. This took me right back, thank you 💕

I hope I get to see Rome someday, I became very close friends with the Italian exchange student this past school year and when he got sent home due to corona we promised to visit eachother again. One of the few things that gives me hope is hopefully being able to fly out to Italy next summer and staying with him in Naples and then going to visit other places.

I know these kind of videos are not as popular, but why doesn't this have more views?? Its so well crafted and the videography is superb! As much as i love the other content she's made i wish more people would appreciate just watching a video for its beauty and not the talking.
