You have two options you can squeeze/bend up the top part of the rivnut so it drops down, chance to scratch frame. Or you can drill out the walls of the rivnut hard to do unless you can drill stright down need to know the right size bit as well so you don't over drill the frame hole.
I actually had success squeezing the base, to stop the rivnut from spinning while I unscrewed the bolt. I regreased the bolt and rivnut threads, for now. I don't want the bother of being without my bike until it has to go into the shop for something more serious. I also didn't want to spend $100 on the tool - - which I might never use again.
Great vid. Shame the tool is so expensive and unlikely to be used more than once in a lifetime lol. Worth putting some grease around that bolt stop it seizing again.
It’s easier to take the forks off to get the bit out that’s fallen inside the down tube, and if you’re doing this on the seat tube you can take the seat post out.

Did you try squeezing the original rivnut tighter with the gun before drilling it out?

seat tube not work, nut will get caught in the grease on the crank.

should have used a chisel to collapse the nut and pull it out intact. Dont bother drilling it, instead just retighen it. OR use chisel to collapse it.
