  • Today we look at the latest, best value OBD2 scanner from Xtools. This OBD2 scanner gives you the power of 4 different scanners in one at a fraction of the price. Xtool has combined the scanning power of the D7, D8, IP616, & IP819 into this one scanner. Plus this scanner also has the ability to diagnose, and reprogram TPMS sensors, ECU Coding, and IMMO Key programming. This is a very powerful scanner that gives you professional grade, OE level diagnostic ability, at a fraction of the cost of the other scanners on the market. This scanner also comes with over 30 Factory Reset Functions. As I will demonstrate in the video you can do full diagnosis plus bidirectional controls of your vehicle plus program your TPMS sensor with this scanner. No need to buy a separate TPMS tool for programming your sensors or the ECU. This scanner also helps you program new modules and allows them to relearn and adapt to your vehicle systems when you do a module replacement after repairs. This scanner has wireless vehicle communication through the Bluetooth dongle or can also connect wired if you choose to do that. This scanner comes with 3 years free software updates and a 2 years warranty. With a large 7" Display and a powerful 5000 mAh Battery this scanner can go anywhere in your shop wirelessly.

    Thanks for the detailed review, especially the TPMS portion! How hard Is the actual TPMS programming for someone who has no experience with TPMS sensors or ECUs?

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  Год назад

      It's not that hard at all. With this sensor all you will be doing is entering the numbers and clicking "OK".

      yeah super easy with this tool. I replaced all 5 sensors including the one in my spare tire and then ran the relearn procedure you just walk around the car and scan each sensor and done. It's very easy to do although I would say if all you need is TPMS reprogramming you don't really need this tool there are many less expensive tools that can do TPMS only.

    Is this tool only capable of programming ts100 sensors? Or can I program oe sensors like Toyota sensors??

    • @ModernDIYProjects

      It can only program Ts100 sensors, but you can use it for ANY OEM sensors as long as you follow the work around that I described in the video.

    I just bought this scanner. Did you ever figure out what the more button is for? I click on it and get a blank screen.

    • @ModernDIYProjects
      @ModernDIYProjects  11 месяцев назад +1

      Mine does the same. In fact it does the same for every model that they have. I know this because I have tested several of their scanners so far. I think it's a spot they created for future use.

      @@ModernDIYProjects downloaded the manual. It says extended functions. Users can use more extended functions and can use this the bring up web browser for researching trouble codes. Sounds like basically the same thing you get when you hit the home button.

      Like I said, I have not found any reasonable use for this button. What you mentioned is accessible through other parts of the scanner, so I just don't get it.

    @Modern DIY Projects that's nice but I'm looking at around $100 I'm just looking at something for a couple cars and do some repairs myself or at least know if someone is trying to scam me

      No problem, I understand. That is why I have an entire playlist of scanner reviews to try and help every budget. If you want a simple scanner for around $100 here are a few suggestions in order of increasing prices.

    Biggest issue, is not leaving the blue tooth dongle in the Car attach to diagnostic port, I can see this easily happening. You will be very unhappy if its a customer car they just picked up and went down the road with your blue tooth dongle.

      I gather that you have not used this unit so let me explain why this cannot happen unless you are extremely sloppy. Whenever you back out of the vehicle that you are working on (Back to the main menu), a visible and audible alarm goes off telling you to "Not forget the Dongle in the Vehicle". You have to click "OK" for that alarm to stop. So you would really have to be careless to bypass this and forget the dongle.

      @@ModernDIYProjectsHey I bought this product and my device does not have an alert and audible sound. Is there a setting or something that I have to turn on? Or was this feature removed in an update ?
