Stripper fishing has changed dramatically. Lots of fish pulled back towards the bay, although lots of fish still in the system. Richmond shores to the Napa river has lots of keeper fish. Like you said, cooler weather or a rain storm will be a big factor for the strippers. Should be a really good run this fall.
I just love fishing and I've caught most every kind fish that's swims around here and few other countries. Always a challenge as I'm still learning things all the time.
Your right! we need cooler nights n days and even some rain! To get the stripers to come into the delta. There are small schools moving in and you can catch limits if you cover a lot area looking.
What would you recommend from shore at Pyramid on a spinning rod? I might be going past there next week You really get around. I am too lazy to drive that much.
This time of the year most of the trout are really deep. Most shore fishing is done late summer thru the fall. But if you do go you should use a 8 1/2 to 10 ft rod in med to med heavy with a reel the holds over 150 yards line. I would use 30# braid with top shot 15# floro
I'm running a 2 stroke and I love it. Four strokes are the only motors you can buy now and there great. No 2 stroke oil to add and their really quite and get good gas mileage.
They troll 2-2.5 mph but they travel with big motor from spot to spot. They might launch at Brannon Island n fish way past Montazuma slough back to Rio Vista by the San Joaquin river just covering water.
There are a few in the system and I was bass fishing there last week by Garcia Bend and I caught a 12# stripers cranking. The best time of the year for stripers in the Sac river around downtown is March thru June.

Yes and I'm waiting patiently. Been fishing for other kinds fish while I'm waiting for the weather.
Nice report. Alan you're one of the best multi species fisherman in the region.

See U On The Water Alan.
Can you do another video on flipping and what to look for and how to he better?
Have you watched the video I did on Flipping Brush hogs? You can go back and watch them and also Fun Fishing TV and on Future Pro Tour videos.
This heat is keeping the striper from pushing in to the system ,messing up the trout bite too

Hey alan love your videos. Do you prefer the 2 stroke hpdi over 4 strokes?

My brother got really sick on the mountain last week…
No hunting for a few ….

😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
As long as you were out fishing we forgive the late report 🤣
Making the one day trip to Pyramid is rough for an old man. But it was worth it and I am thinking going back next week for the day.
How fast are they trolling to cover 50/70 miles a day?
They troll 2-2.5 mph but they travel with big motor from spot to spot. They might launch at Brannon Island n fish way past Montazuma slough back to Rio Vista by the San Joaquin river just covering water.
I found lots of stripers on the rock piles in the bay today.
Yes a lot of stripers are in the bay waiting and will push up river soon for the winter.
