I’m not Going to have any luck huh? I love morons on RUclips that don’t have a freaking clue what they are talking about. I guess the 10,000 bass I’ve caught on my spread Arigs means I’m the luckiest son of a gun on the planet. What do you think those spinners on the inside of the bait are replicating. How many shad balls do you see the shad in the middle of the school? I know. Zero. You see the flash from the ones on the outside of the school as they turn. Completely false and inaccurate tip buy an obvious rookie angler.

@@AlanFong not one Halibut for us yesterday in tomalas bay. What wrong with me Fong? The anchovies are still around. We caught plenty for the day. My guess is the salmon fisherman are taken over halibut fishing.

Hey Alan, rookie kayak fisherman learning bass here. Thanks to your chatterbait videos I have gotten a lot better using them. I have watched that video maybe 5 times and learned something new every time! Question: sometimes I am throwing chatters and get tons of bites, but they are just short strikes or they come off quickly. Oftentimes i can see that they're just really small bass nipping at it. In that situation, do I change bait, change how I'm setting the hook, or get out of the area because they're all gonna be small? Please let me know what you'd do in that situation! THANK YOU!

I remember going into Fishermans Warehouse when I was a teenager in the late 90's. Alan was so humble and helpful when I asked him questions about gear and technique. Appreciate seeing him here on RUclips

The delta bite near franks has been tuff. Only scratched 6 last time out got a 5lber tho. What area you recommend? Thanks for the report
What tide you at? Fishing a big tournament day?
I was around Prisoners point last sunday and did ok catching over fifteen bass. Biggest three pounds fishing big grassy flats with chatterbaits n senkos

It seems you run lowrance fish finders. Is lowrance what you would recommend? I have an elite FS 9 with the 3in1 transducer is this a pretty good model?
Yes I've been with Lowrance for over fifty years! Yes the Elite FS if a great unit and will do everything you need it to do.
Alan I love your content. I have been subscribed for over a year and have become mich more confident on the Delta. I am struggling when the tides are low early. Do you have any suggestions as to where to target during lower tides and less current?

Fall is the best time when the shad ball up in big schools. This is the best time of the years to jig n mooch
Went out for Kokanee this past Friday at Stampede. I think you’re spot on with your analysis, the fish are deep and hugging the bottom. The only ones we hooked happened to be when our downriggers dragged bottom for a few seconds coming up on a hump in the lake. Small fish too, very tiny Kokanee this year.
Yes the koks are running small this year at Stampede.
When the stripers come in the fall where do they go? Do they just relax in the delta and stay until the spawn?
Normally they start moving into the delta in Sept and stay feeding until they go up river to spawn. They feed real heavily during this time. Spooning on breaks in 20-35 ft and on high tides I like fishing big weed flats. From Rio Vista to Liberty Island are my favorite areas

Man Alan, you’re a jigger. What are you doing trolling these things? You can crush them with jigs! Forage minnow 1/4 oz for little Kokes. 1/2oz p-line kokanator or binks for bigger fish. 1/4-1/2oz Krocodiles work too. You can rip em from 140’ to the surface! You know the drill. Your line has to be vertical. Short pops with a couple second pause once in a while. 6lb co-poly or trilene xl mono. You need a light rod with some backbone. Chase those marks on 2d. Way more fun than trolling.
Yes I jig for the koks later in the year. I enjoy trolling because it is relaxing lol Your right on but you have to wonder as they are plankton feeders! I have never found any shad in their bellies always plankton

There between 8" to 14" limit is ten. You have to work for them but you can catch limits just reel them in slow.

I've done one mooching last year with the gitizs. Haven't done one trolling yet. I've been so busy with my consulting don't have a lot time to do the videos anymore just these reports. We'll see
Great report as always - there are a bunch of shaker stripers in the middle river area - never seen so many this early - hopefully the big boys will come in soon - keep up the great work Alan👊🎣👍
If you watch the reports a lot of the stripers went out into the SF Bay and out to the ocean down south to Pacifica. Then they will head back into the bay for awhile and head back into the delta system for the fall and winter. I've seen them come back in the end August and as late as Nov depending on the weather conditions.

We have had success for halibut N Tamala’s N San Francisco Bay. The secret get your bait then fish F Bowie first… it does change up…after go look for them outside both Bays.. The Fish Are Bigger Cleaner Fish Outside The Bay. I’m no pro @ It Fong. I do luv learning new fishing techniques. We found the anchovies N Filled Up The Bait Box. Live Bait is Key #1….. I didn’t toss any lures…I only took one rod on my friend boat. Second time out it was windy as…A Moo Foo! N S. F. Bay. 💨 🌊 🌊 🌊

Thanks for the report Alan. I got a question on the Kokanee, when they’re that deep in that cold water. Once you get them up to the surface, the water is pretty darn hot. Those fish are probably gased, and you can’t get it back down. You’re keeping it correct? No sense in throwing them back cause they’re just gonna die.
Yes your right and I will keep them no matter how big they are as their great table fare. I do smoke a lot of them also. Most of the time I will fish a little deeper and try get bigger ones.
I tried going down to muscle rock for some of those gigantic fish in the Cunanag(?) brother’s book. I have both the striper and sturgeon books and the fish are huge. Probably all gone now. Rippin” spoons in Pacifica takes MAJOR patience. So much seaweed😢
I know Angelo Cunanag real well and things do change over the years as it does everywhere. I've been fishing the delta since 1968 and boy has it changed but you have to adapt and I still learn all the time.
I'm reading the water behind you and I see 👀 Bass holding spots. It looks like a great area. 🎣
There are miles of water in the delta and everywhere looks great. Time on the water is so important and learning the tides as fish been in tidal water all their lives and know it very well.

Yes the SF Bay has lots stripers on the rock piles and drift live anchovies

Most guys use the 200 but the 240 works good too just bigger

Fishing for stripers? I haven't been in the delta for three weeks but my friends are catching some stripers around Rio Vista. I'm going this week for stripers n bass. Usually the fall stripers move into the delta towards end Sept.
What about the King Salmon reports like Folsom or Oroville?
Folsom has been real good this year on the kings. Even now Kevin Fogal been catching a bunch rolling shad and on pearl hoochies.
Any good spots for stripper bank fishing at the moment?
I would fish the American River from Watt to Sunrise with anchovies. You can try the Sac river around Hood to Courtland with sardines but most stripers are in the bay now. Spring is the best time in the Sac river
Hear anything about Stripers at Pacifica?
no but this is the time of year the stripers are along the coast. Lots guys fish at night with spoons and don't talk much

Cooked em 3 ways, lemon butter wrapped in foil on the grill, soy sauce and green onions wrapped on the grill and peanut oil and salt unwrapped on the grill.... that one was my favorite.

There catching the big halibuts outside the gate on the north bar in 30-40 ft water.
