- In this video I show you how to make a golf shot tracer with the same quality as Good Good Golf. This tracer example works for zoomed footage as well as footage taken without a tripod! Let me know if you all enjoyed the tutorial!

Wow, I am completely lost. I would never be able to do that. That takes a lot of time for each one you have to do. You are awesome.
This is amazing insights; thank you so much and will be applying to my videos!!
Great stuff, thanks for sharing. I was already doing reasonable shot tracers, but this will level it up a bit for me. Will also follow your channel and see what you get up to 🤙
Your shot tracers are 🔥 and this tutorial is great!
best tutorial ive seen. trying to edit tracers myself and not use a janky app for the first time, will be referring to this! :)
Nice! Glad I could help!
@@206_golf do you know how to make the tracer fade as it lands? (dissolve/ fade idk)
You can change the opacity from 100 to 0 with key points. I don’t know how to make it fade starting from the beginning of the tracer to the end.
@@206_golf gotcha, thank you. It’s probably something with the key frames on the opacity
Great explanation!! Even better than Busta Jack!
Wow thanks!!!
Would you make a video inserting an editable scorecard in the top on the videos
Is there a way to control the speed of the tracer?. I make them super fast all the time and I can’t control the pace. Thank you! Great video!
So that’s how the magic happens? I thought you just had to click a button
Hahaha I wish
Great job bro! What app are you using Adobe Premire?
yup! thank you
Holy shit dude I have been looking for this video FOREVER! I’ve always wondered how when people zoom in on the camera but the tracer stays where it is. I guess they’d be using that variable zoom with the lock points right?
I got you my guy! Yes, that is potentially one way to do it, there is another way to do it using something called a particle emitter, but from my experience my cpu is not strong enough to run that smoothly.
Is there any way to speed up this workflow? :)
honestly im not sure, I've tried a couple different ways, none seem to work much better. probably could pay for something.
Amazing stuff, only thing is that i am struggling to make it work with moving and zooming shots. any tips on how to do this?
At :57 he mentions using 3d camera tracker to lock in the different points for when the camera is moving or not on a tripod.
@@windwatcher5 yeah he does and it works to an extent, but when my shot is moving so much that there are no anchor point that stay inside the shot
Yeah I never figured out how to do it beyond the extend of the camera moving a little bit.
@@206_golf looks like i just have to stop panning and zooming at the same time
Hi there, loved your tutorial, def the best one out there. I have one kinda specific question for you. I am using Adobe 2024, and when I use the gradient stroke for a fade ball flight the gradient works perfectly, however, for a draw ballflight I the gradient doesnt appear. I dont have the dots like you have to change where the gradient starts, idk why that is. Because of that I have to rely on the location percentage number in the gradient editor settings. Do you know how to get around this?
I just updated Adobe to 2024. Let me see if the same thing happens to me. I’ll get back to you. But in the mean time, make sure you press “v” to get back to the selection tool. Then click on the gradient stroke in the layers and see if they come up.
Can you make a tracer if the camera is moving? Or zooming?
Yup, that’s what I explain in this vid
@@206_golf I’m sorry I commented this on the wrong post. Yours was super helpful!
I CANNOt get the tracer to stick, it keeps moving with the zoom
that might mean your tracking points arent stable enough. which could be from shakey footage?
@@206_golf very possible I was doing a drone shot haha
I’ve done a few tracers for my video and now the clip I’m trying to do all of a sudden isn’t finding any points to attach the tracer to? I don’t feel as though I changed what I was doing? Any tips?
Make sure in the track camera you have the correct shot type selected… ie. Variable zoom. If that doesn’t work, something the track camera simply doesn’t work. Which is okay, you don’t need a tracer on every single shot!
Great vid man. I saw BustaJack post a video similar to this. I'm trying to make tracers too for my videos and I've always done ShotTracer Pro on Mac but it's terrible. The only problem is I have Apple Motion and not After Effects. Do you have any experience with motion? I tried following along but once you start adjusting the bezier points to get it exact, Motion doesn't allow me to do that. Any ideas on what to do?
I have never used apple motion but I actually happened to watched a video on how to do it on apple motion yesterday, you're supposed to use a particle emitter. I'll link the video I watched.

can you do a web browser for capcut and also how do I make a line following the ball?
I’m sorry I’ve never used CapCut before!
@@206_golf what do you use?
@206_golf thanks anyway though ❤
You ever in pierce county and need a playing partner let me know. Im also on the path to break 90, started golfing in February.
How much would you charge for this service?
I don’t know! I’ve never been asked this before. Do you need tracers?
@@206_golf yessir... Very soon. I have a project that I am working on that will need tracers for it.
@@206_golf I'm building my team right now which includes tracers and infographics for facts and scoring.
Very cool! DM on Instagram if you want and we can continue this conversation.
Why not use the shot tracer app ?
It’s not really reliable imo
I’m currently stuck trying to to figure out how to make the tracer opacity fade out from one side to the other. Especially for zoom shots so when you zoom in the first part of the tracer becomes transparent but the end is still at 100% opacity when the ball lands. Do you have any ideas?
So I know exactly what you are talking about, and I’ve spent a decent amount of time trying to figure that out. I don’t think there is a way to do it when you make the tracer like I do in the video. BUT, what you can do is make 2 tracers, 1 before the camera zooms and the second is after the camera zooms. So essentially the first tracer is about 75% of the total ball flight and the second is the last 25%. Then when the camera is zooming, you make the first one disappear. Hope that helps
@@206_golf ahh that makes perfect sense! Thank you so much, you’re the man 🙏
I got you!
why bother rendering while you made a linked after effects composition?
Because then the playback is smoother
@@206_golf ah makes sense, but you will need to delete the linked comp from premiere timeline,
@@PrimeYT10 👍
Wow that looks very time consuming and way harder then I thought it’d be
It is!
