Woah! What's up with the mic getting cut off consistently throughout the equalizer preview? It's kind of annoying, tbh, & I can't imagine me having that kind problem in the middle of my co-op sessions.
Honest thought? It's Synapse raping his CPU, because that was recorded live while he fiddled. The other Synapse clips are voice-over. Let me be clear: Razer has some neat (even great) hardware... but Synapse is an utter, utter dumpster fire of code and WILL ruin your fun. Cannot and will not buy Razer until and unless they completely rewrite Synapse from the literal ground up.
If you have a lot of sh* in the house that uses 2.4ghz you might get some issues. I can't for example use any razer mice since i got internet 2.4ghz and it interferes with it, so i either get a internet drop or a lag in the mice, the only fix for that is to switch to 5ghz which on the other hand will reduce the signal strength distance.
@@Evil_Gingivitis I had very little issues with it, you just have to know how to deal with some bugs, a full restart most of the times will fix some of them, the cpu issue isn't even near compared to some native windows sh* they put in which steals sometimes up to 33% of the cpu in my case, if it happens just end the process and that's fine. Corsair isn't better, i caught them once stealing almost 1gb of ram... Idk how a headset driver can do it, all these softwares from asus to razer have some issues, but many are an easy fix.

Sucks that the 2020 model doesn't have access to those audio profiles. Especially considering that other than the mic, battery and Bluetooth nothing else has changed.
the larger issue I see and have experienced is the yoke plastic breaking. Mine broke while on my head. I see this same issue with many in reviews even people 3d printing a replacement. for a headset that is this new to release to have this many failures with Razor refusing to replace them is a major problem. I love this headset so much. the Mic being best in market is a shame. I currently running a HyperX cloud 3 and find it greatly lacking in comparison. audio drivers are not as good Mic is not even close and comfort is good but not as good. Mainly because of the Pleather instead of fabric and more pressure points.
Didn't have any of the issues talked about in the video for my headset. I love it, was a huge upgrade from my Logitech G PRO X in pretty much every way.
recently got the logitech G Pro X and not sure about it and thinking of returning... is the sound quality better in the razer? Thats the thing that makes me unsure about switching.
You don't get simultaneous Bluetooth, only SmartSwitch which lets you choose between wireless audio OR Bluetooth audio, not both at the same time. A hard pass for me then.
I play mostly computer. If i want to hear music, i can start, pause and choose music on the spotify app, whilst listening on pc. So this is no big issue for me.
@@ZacNorth and windows has phone link app that lets u make and answer calls from ur phone thru pc directly so u don't need dual bt/2.4 connection anymore. but i also think it's a weird thing not to have. i assume they could change this via software down the line but weird.
The previous version is still my go to wireless gaming headset, I don't use the mic on it, and it doesn't sound amazingly better then the alternatives out there, but it sounds good enough and most importantly it is the most comfortable headset that I have ever placed upon my head. I am prone to sweating to sportsmesh style earpads are a must.
I’m really upset with the headset, either it was another 1 off flukey glitched headset or people just don’t have good enough ears, but there was a constant hissing/whitenoise as soon as sound started playing, even after no audio was playing and the sound was fully muted, it was still audible, and definitely could not get passed that, the 2020 version didn’t sport this issue, and I’m asking for a replacement because I really loved the 2020 sound quality but I need the new mic from the 2023, if anyone has the same problem or you think it’s just a defect please let me know.
@@sycom- Just return the 2023 version but keep the mic and put the old mic in the box. Amazon never checks and since the mic doesn't have a serial number, they'll never know even if they did check.
I just got these today. So far so good in terms of mic quality. My only issue is that I hear a low static type of noise in the background of all audio. after a few minutes of no audio playing the static sound stops. then you start playing and you hear it again. I need to use these for gaming and work and its a bit annoying but these are the only headphones that fit comfortably. Anyone else having this issue?
yea I also have that low static noise, but somehow I got used to it. I changed my headset 3 times in the last month. too tired to return it again and wait for a new one :D
@@Gundobert I contacted razer support about this and they were of no assistance despite many other users with the same issue. Ultimately, today I went back to my older Blackshark as that one doesn't have the issue and the mic upgrade is not a much needed necessity for me. According to my friends I sound good and not at all like a broadcaster so I will maybe wait another 3 years for a new model.
The best way I can describe it is Its as if when you press the power button, it turns on the headphones. And then when you're about to play audio, the headphones turn on the speakers inside of them. After there's no sound playing the headphones turn off the speaker. As Zac said, side tone is not the cause of the issue as its already off. however enabling it while make it worse. I think the issue comes from the volume knob on the headset. Before, the volume knob would adjust only the audio on the headphone. You would hear the same static noise on the old version of the headphones if it was turned to the max. Now it adjust the windows volume. Since we cant tune the headphones with it, I believe the knob is what's causing this issue.
Hi there, just got the Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 this week. Experiencing that low static noise that's been reported many times indeed. I do also have random click noises when having some audio playing back. Does anyone experience that as well ? It kinds of frustrates me because I really like the mic quality. I have been using the Corsair Void series (got two of them) for 5 years and never had this kind of behaviour.
Mine broke in less than 3 months of gentle use at work just living on my desk for zoom calls and audiobooks. The hinges broke on both sides. After a google search its apparently an extremely common issue with these. I wouldnt suggest anyone buy these.
Just got mine and when I test my mic I can hear a weird noise almost like bird chirps or electric. I tried standing away from any other electronics but still hear it. If I turn noise cancellation on low like 20 it stops. I’m not sure if it’s defective or just how it is. Any thoughts?
I have purchased these due to all the hype on video reviews. They're replacing my steel series 7, and yes, the mic is leagues ahead, but sound is not much better. Also, the wireless dongle on steal series is better with less interference, unlike the blackshark, which signal is interfered with making sound cut out like a glitchy break in sound. The steel series is a lot more comfortable as well. I'm very disappointed as at £200 i expect improvements over an older headset
I just got the Kraken v3 pro and for whatever reason it would not work on two different pcs the headset would stop producing volume If it did not hear anything for more than 10 seconds, was absolutely no fixes for it tried everything. I sent it back. now I have the black shark v2 pro 2023 coming hopefully it works
I bought them and the software Synapse Asked for an update that made my pair useless and faulty, and had to return them. And Razer wouldnt even try to asnwer why or help to solve it.
@@9to5toys I have the older version, and this worked for me, Try using a USB 2.0 because 3.0 creates radio interference for these types of wireless headsets
@@JoseMunoz-lo9mk most mobos don't even have 2.0 ports anymore. they built the transmitter to account for the slight noise usb 3.0 ports add. however they do include the extender cable to eliminate any potential problems

Mine crackles and goes all robot sounding when playing games, super annoying, seems like a wireless connection issue, even though with the extension cable it was literally 1ft away still had issues.
Yep same wireless issues on 2 pairs of these, Both have gone back for a refund. Had the dongle literally 2 feet away from the headset and the connection would go crazy giving a digital distortion noise.
I had to return these on ps5 they have an annoying buzzing sound that I could hear through the audio and speaking of audio these did not get loud at all. Razer feels so cheap and headache inducing for the price the audio is good on some but for the price they’re not worth it. I just tried hyper cloud flight and it’s so much comfier than Razer
While I do agree wireless issues should not be the problem, what can cause a lot of issues is other devices being too loud on the certain bands where that can mess up the headset, like multiple routers, different dongles and etc. I would check that out first and then see if the issues persist since my headset doesn't have that problem.
Bit of a stretch, but just picked up a pair of these, should I consider getting an extended warranty from Allstate? (20$ and they've done a good job for me in the past) Just not so convinced by Razers build quality.
I have this issue where, had the 2020 set for 2 times in a row now, and the first one i returned because the volume knob, very badly placed on the left side? It bumps against chair seats a tiny bit when i turn my head left. Do it enough? And it crackles when you touch it. Then it crackles every time i turn my head and eventually it even cuts out half the sound until i jiggle knob. He complains about it here in the video and he thought it was the dongle but i bet if he tries, its the damn volume knob, perhaps. Least it was for me. The crackling they make when knob is jostled? Its reminiscient of old bluetooth headphone crackling, but its actually the knobs connection to the cup id wager, maybe it onnly was for me. Twice. I feel ripped off twice. Second pair did exact same thing. And on top of it, Second pair, the metal slider thing that goes into earcups to extend or retract how big headphone size is? One side lost all friction and cannot hold. So they appear oblong on my head which drives me crazy. I constantly have to tighten them. I could superglue it but already had a bad experience doing that with a previous set. Also the synapse program takes up a lot of system memory like bloatware and doesnt feel optimized like ghub does, which i use for my mouse and keyboard, synapse is horrible, and the bass the headphones had did not compare to the previous ones i had, Logitech wired g635s. Those were best pair ive ever owned EXCEPT for the damn crappy usb a cord falls out repeatedly when you, again, turn your head left. I end up literally superglueing them in, which eventually breaks the cord at the jack. Totaled the headphones but hey at leasty theyre only 60 new unlike the 2 pairs of razer blackshark pro v2 wireless i bought for some reason... chasing wireless. Cuz i cant stand the damn cord attached to my head. Logitech had like twice the bass too, i feel like wireless gaming headsets cannot get good bass. And wired ones drive me crazy unless wire is embedded, otherwise wire(s) rips out all the time. Damn headphones feel like a scam. All of em. Im going back to the Ghub and the wired because i need deep bass for rust explosions and wireless just cant do it. Ill just deal with the logitech cord falling out, cuz Ghub is like ten times the program synapse is. also wired has way way cooler rgb. Came here to see what this guy said before pulling trigger on logitech wired again after razer blackshark v2s broke on me twice in 2 years, 2nd one today knob is touchier than someone with a migraine and it sickens me. one year each, think they were like 140 each? Oh and im a streamer and after a year? the battery life on these can get down to like, 14 hours. That can suck. Go wired. Just got one, not knowing there was two versions. Bought it on Best Buy because it was $100 off. Needless to say it was the 2020 model. I didn't know that. Should have known a deal like that was too good. Good thing is I got it from BB and it's easy to return them to my local store and hopefully pick up the new model if they have it.
How is the side tone on this headset? I have the previous version and i would have to the the muc monitor all the way up, max out thr headset itself and then turn Windows down very low to even heard mic monitor which sucjs because otherwise i loved the headset i just couldn't hear myself
The older version is at an affordable price now and outbeats almost all of its competitors (even the lower-end alternatives in other razer product lines) at the same price range... can't think of a reason of not to get them at this point of time
just got the blackshark v2 pro 2023 edition and i feel like the sound quality is worse on this headset than it is on my old razor kraken ultimate. Anything I can do to improve the sound. It seems like every video i watch or game i play i have to readjust the sounds to fit what i am doing and even after doing so the quality seems worse than that of the ultimate.
The Microphone is awful, just purchased these during black Friday and people keep telling me I'm quiet or my mic keeps cutting out. Tried every setting possible, updated drivers etc. Terrible
i’m having a problem where the device won’t update in synapse, it says to connect the dongle and connect it with the other cable but it doesn’t let me click the update button. i also cant use the mic then i connect it through the dongle and have to use it on bluetooth mode.
Liked both of your interviews of the Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 and Logitech G Pro X 2 but I can’t make up my mind on which to go for. I mainly play escape from Tarkov and I’m loving great audio. Which headset would be a better go for? I don’t mind the price difference.
For the audio quality the Logitech is better, maybe even the comfort depending on what you prefer since it’s a more deeper ear pad. I’d suggest you try the Logitech first and try to get it from a store that allow return in case you didn’t like them
For Tarkov and other games where you have to pin point fine sound details i would pick the Razer one. Have both of them and the Logitech struggles to maintain audio " clarity " when to much is going on. If you hear footsteps and then someone shoots you loose those footsteps
@@WanderyenErin hence spicey ears after some time of use. You could always get aftermarket ear pads tho.. if that’s a big issue just get the Razers.. they do get slightly warm after some time but not as bad as leather.
dang i was excited till 10:48. i have the wirless krakens and i get that issue with idk if its just interferencce or what but it get progressively worse the longer ive owned them, i think ill still to the wired version for now. Thanks for the review
I currently using hyper x cloud core wireless with pleather earpads, and it causes discomfort, Ordered blacksharks v2pro 2023 already, I'm pretty sure my ears will not get hot and spicy after long sessions with theese ones?

Do not buy if you have Xbox. It says online in multiple places that it’s compatible with Xbox and it doesn’t work. There is no way to connect it to your Xbox. It works on pretty much every available console or PC or gaming device except xbox.

The older version of the v2 pro had a separate volume knob that controlled the driver volume independently from the windows volume, which allowed you to reduce the "white noise/buzzing" that most if not all wireless headphones have, the 2023 version's knob removed that ability and only controls windows volume now, sadly.
This headset is crappy HyperX is the best headset so far for playing FPS game the sounds is very clear unlike the blackshark the sound is so muffled i hate it
Amazing that in 2023 Razer cannot make it work wirelessly with everything. They simply continue to ignore Xobox support. Yes the Kaira Pro is available but I think the Blackshark V2 is a better product
DONT BUY THIS HEADET!! it is the worst quality headset i ever had. yes the drivers and mic is good. but the quality is sh*t, it breaks after weeks. mine broke after 4 weeks, never dropped it always treated with care and it broke out of nowhere after 4 weeks. i contacted razer they said its my own fault and that it doesnt break out of nowhere. while it clearly a quality issue/factory issue. they have a sh*t customer service too. i have the normal blackshark v2 for almost 3 years now dropped it so much because of the cable getting stuck under my chair. it still works perfectly. and this v2 pro broke out of nowhere after 4 weeks without dropping it once. choice is yours im just warning. i just lost 300 dollar because of this piece of sh*t headset dont make same mistake as me :)

Same. I was thinking to get something new from my Arctis 9x but I got used to listen to music while being in a party with friends while gaming.

what do u need both at the same time for? any reason u come up with is going to have an easy solution that's already built into windows.

just got mine and its also have a noise, and in 2020 version there is no noise :((

I have the exact same issue. And no its not the sidetone. But the sidetone gives even worse buzzing

I have them and have not had the connection issues that you've had. There was a new FW update released yesterday btw.
Yeah, it sounds like most haven't had any issues but mine definitely did. I'll try that new firmware and see if that changed anything as well.

Least it was for me. The crackling they make when knob is jostled? Its reminiscient of old bluetooth headphone crackling, but its actually the knobs connection to the cup id wager, maybe it onnly was for me. Twice.
I feel ripped off twice. Second pair did exact same thing. And on top of it, Second pair, the metal slider thing that goes into earcups to extend or retract how big headphone size is? One side lost all friction and cannot hold. So they appear oblong on my head which drives me crazy. I constantly have to tighten them. I could superglue it but already had a bad experience doing that with a previous set.
Also the synapse program takes up a lot of system memory like bloatware and doesnt feel optimized like ghub does, which i use for my mouse and keyboard, synapse is horrible, and the bass the headphones had did not compare to the previous ones i had, Logitech wired g635s. Those were best pair ive ever owned EXCEPT for the damn crappy usb a cord falls out repeatedly when you, again, turn your head left. I end up literally superglueing them in, which eventually breaks the cord at the jack. Totaled the headphones but hey at leasty theyre only 60 new unlike the 2 pairs of razer blackshark pro v2 wireless i bought for some reason... chasing wireless.
Cuz i cant stand the damn cord attached to my head. Logitech had like twice the bass too, i feel like wireless gaming headsets cannot get good bass. And wired ones drive me crazy unless wire is embedded, otherwise wire(s) rips out all the time.
Damn headphones feel like a scam. All of em. Im going back to the Ghub and the wired because i need deep bass for rust explosions and wireless just cant do it. Ill just deal with the logitech cord falling out, cuz Ghub is like ten times the program synapse is. also wired has way way cooler rgb. Came here to see what this guy said before pulling trigger on logitech wired again after razer blackshark v2s broke on me twice in 2 years, 2nd one today knob is touchier than someone with a migraine and it sickens me. one year each, think they were like 140 each?
Oh and im a streamer and after a year? the battery life on these can get down to like, 14 hours. That can suck.
Go wired. Only reason i wrote so much is this was 240 dollars in 3 years for just crappy headphones that work, but not perfectly, then break
Just got one, not knowing there was two versions. Bought it on Best Buy because it was $100 off. Needless to say it was the 2020 model. I didn't know that. Should have known a deal like that was too good. Good thing is I got it from BB and it's easy to return them to my local store and hopefully pick up the new model if they have it.
This headset would be good if the software actually worked. I'm sending mine back because none of the eq settings work.
They added so much but removed analog voice control which makes it impossible to tune down white noise, bad move razer -.-
How is the side tone on this headset? I have the previous version and i would have to the the muc monitor all the way up, max out thr headset itself and then turn Windows down very low to even heard mic monitor which sucjs because otherwise i loved the headset i just couldn't hear myself

The older version is at an affordable price now and outbeats almost all of its competitors (even the lower-end alternatives in other razer product lines) at the same price range... can't think of a reason of not to get them at this point of time

just got the blackshark v2 pro 2023 edition and i feel like the sound quality is worse on this headset than it is on my old razor kraken ultimate. Anything I can do to improve the sound. It seems like every video i watch or game i play i have to readjust the sounds to fit what i am doing and even after doing so the quality seems worse than that of the ultimate.

The Microphone is awful, just purchased these during black Friday and people keep telling me I'm quiet or my mic keeps cutting out. Tried every setting possible, updated drivers etc. Terrible

i’m having a problem where the device won’t update in synapse, it says to connect the dongle and connect it with the other cable but it doesn’t let me click the update button. i also cant use the mic then i connect it through the dongle and have to use it on bluetooth mode.

Liked both of your interviews of the Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 and Logitech G Pro X 2 but I can’t make up my mind on which to go for. I mainly play escape from Tarkov and I’m loving great audio. Which headset would be a better go for? I don’t mind the price difference.
For the audio quality the Logitech is better, maybe even the comfort depending on what you prefer since it’s a more deeper ear pad. I’d suggest you try the Logitech first and try to get it from a store that allow return in case you didn’t like them
For Tarkov and other games where you have to pin point fine sound details i would pick the Razer one. Have both of them and the Logitech struggles to maintain audio " clarity " when to much is going on. If you hear footsteps and then someone shoots you loose those footsteps

@@WanderyenErin hence spicey ears after some time of use. You could always get aftermarket ear pads tho.. if that’s a big issue just get the Razers.. they do get slightly warm after some time but not as bad as leather.

I currently using hyper x cloud core wireless with pleather earpads, and it causes discomfort, Ordered blacksharks v2pro 2023 already, I'm pretty sure my ears will not get hot and spicy after long sessions with theese ones?

Comfort wise yes, alot more comfortable, sound wise? Not even close. The astro a50 is alot better.

Do not buy if you have Xbox. It says online in multiple places that it’s compatible with Xbox and it doesn’t work. There is no way to connect it to your Xbox. It works on pretty much every available console or PC or gaming device except xbox.

@@TrinityLinkq sidetone is off and i still have it. "luckily" I have very bad tinitus, so its almost better i have the sound. it just annoys me that i can not fix it.
The older version of the v2 pro had a separate volume knob that controlled the driver volume independently from the windows volume, which allowed you to reduce the "white noise/buzzing" that most if not all wireless headphones have, the 2023 version's knob removed that ability and only controls windows volume now, sadly.

HyperX is the best headset so far for playing FPS game the sounds is very clear unlike the blackshark the sound is so muffled i hate it

Amazing that in 2023 Razer cannot make it work wirelessly with everything. They simply continue to ignore Xobox support. Yes the Kaira Pro is available but I think the Blackshark V2 is a better product
Blame Microsoft for making companies jump through hoops to get their wireless headsets compatible with that console.

DONT BUY THIS HEADET!! it is the worst quality headset i ever had. yes the drivers and mic is good. but the quality is sh*t, it breaks after weeks. mine broke after 4 weeks, never dropped it always treated with care and it broke out of nowhere after 4 weeks. i contacted razer they said its my own fault and that it doesnt break out of nowhere. while it clearly a quality issue/factory issue. they have a sh*t customer service too. i have the normal blackshark v2 for almost 3 years now dropped it so much because of the cable getting stuck under my chair. it still works perfectly. and this v2 pro broke out of nowhere after 4 weeks without dropping it once. choice is yours im just warning. i just lost 300 dollar because of this piece of sh*t headset dont make same mistake as me :)
