I am American. I watched this show with my Aunt as a child. Started from beginning last month and I'm ADDICTED!! Wentworth was ok but Prisoner is a classic!! I LOVE Australians!! You guys are BEAUTIES!! 😍😍😍

You wouldn't think Marlenes crime was manslaughter, she came into the prison laughing, obviously no remorse at the time.
Agreed, nothing can imitate Prisoner. Although I am looking forward to it, I do love prison dramas and I don't think we've had one for a while, but I think Prisoner exhausted most of the stories you could possibly do in a prison environment anyway.

Don't know why Joan's smirking at Dennis being arrested when she was in the same situation a couple of years earlier when Neil was killing all those Pro's.

To be honest Rabbit isn’t even that overweight, I don’t know why she’s made fun of it, she’s actually quite a normal size 😭
Rabbit is 'porky' fat and could do with going on a diet and taking regular exercise. Before she ends up like Judy who is 'obese' fat and really needs to go on a strict calorie controlled diet and an exercise regime managed by a trained dietition.

Rabbit's cheesy dream sequence was like something out of a really bad early 80s pop video lol. I love/hate the Freak as much as anyone else, but Lexie was bang out of order saying that stuff about her dad. She got off lightly with a haircut. The Joan Ferguson of 1982 would have been nowhere as restrained.
Kblogg 777 I think Joan was always sociopathic/psychopathic, but at times, she would just switch it off and then switch it back on again if needed, as opposed to leaving her volatile side on 24/7.
She deserved a kick in like Chrissie got.

Seeing The Freak cut Lexi's hair off was satisfying.
Her hair was some of the tackiest shyt I've ever seen and now she hates her appearance. Poetic justice served after she kept making fun of Marelen's weight. Lexi got off lightly. Would loved to have seen her head shaved.
Lexie bloody well deserved it.

Amazing Freak episode maybe one of the best . The scene with the Sister and Joan was one of the most tender and well written and acted in the entire series . . Then back to a level of Freakish cruelty not seen since her early days at Wentworth . Just one it looked the character had found emotional peace . The polar opposes of the human psyche was will always make this series great and like no other .

I really like the nun and actress playing her is top notch.
Patrick Nabors Diane Craig was great as Sister Anita Selby, and she was also great in the earlier days as Jacki Nolan (who went under a new name, Sarah Forrest, because she had escaped from a prison where there was a corrupt lesbian prison officer, but not Joan, another one, and it definitely wasn't Cynthia Leach either lol).

I remember being a child and seeing the freak attack lexie. I was only 6 years old so was scared shitless. But l knew none of it was real and it was just acting. But its funny can still remember seeing that scene and it sticks in your head after all these years.

You're right, these things do indeed stick in your mind. Thankfully it didn't traumatise me, but I do think a couple of things now anyway.
One, I think, poor Lexie, and two, you bitch from hell, Joan lol, three, but actually, Lexie does look nice with short hair and no ribbons etc, even with or without make-up she looks fine as well. 😃

Franky is my favourite too. The finale was kick-arse like, that Jacs Holt got what was coming to her. i didn't mind Jacs until she had little Debbie murdered, that episode was so sad, very gripping stuff, and graphic.
I was a little sceptical about Wentworth when they announced they were producing it, but it is actually very good.
Even though i'm quite looking forward to Ferguson ( The Freak ) coming into the show, to me there will only ever be one Joan Ferguson, but it should be good though.

Franky is definitely my favourite so far, I'm actually really loving the show. It was a working progress but after that kick-ass finale I'm officially a fan, I can't wait for Season 2 now. It's going to be very weird seeing them bring back The Freak, but the actress looks like she could pull it off, I'm actually really looking forward to it.

The Marlene apology letter scene is one of the reasons I always found Marlene to be a decent enough character in PCBH. She's no top 10 contender fosho. But a comfortable middler for me. And actually this time through when I'm not skipping anything, the cockroach racing stuff didn't annoy me as much as I remember it previously winding me up. I must be mellowing in old age.

stuartpatto1976 So was I, the one thing that I was nervous about was them potentially continuing where the original Prisoner left off, I was so relieved when they revealed they were going with a reboot.
Oh hell yeah, I have to confess in the beginning them bringing The Freak into it I was 100% dead against, but now I've warmed to the idea, the whole idea of her entering as governor just spells absolute mayhem, I can't wait for it. No one can replace Maggie but if I can distinguish between the original and modern Bea and Lizzie I'm sure I can The Freak, 2014 can't come quick enough.

Hahaha. I did like Boy George though in the 80s. But Patterson made a horrible mistake "going there" with Ferguson about her dad's death! Bad one! Hell, im usually up for a fight or "row" but I wouldve been crushed by her as well for that! When Patterson said that i was like, "Dammmmmn son!" I knew Fergie wouldnt let that go.

I've never been a real fan of Lexie, but I didn't wish her to get a going-over from the Freak. That said, she did ask for it by provoking her and really only has herself to blame for opening her mouth in the first place. Myra never dealt with Lexie and Lurch nearly enough for my liking over that business with Janice. She must be going soft or something. The poor woman could have died, and if she does end up permanently brain damaged then that is even worse.

Totally agree. This show was of its time and can never be created again. Like all shows that are revived, Dallas being a prime example - loved Dallas, in the 70's 80's and early 90's, but the new version is absolutely awful and so would a new Prisoner be - all the woman would be pretty blondes with off the wall names, and with little acting talent... like most shows.
