I love the way they get accused of crimes on prisoner on no evidence at all .lol
Just like the UK police and operation Yewtree.

You don’t have to give me a kiss, so how about a goodbye hug..... so heartbreaking, the shane and Joan dynamic is great. One of my fave storylines. Such a shame she didn’t win custody , poor kid needs her
Its My Fave ever storyline!🥰
Crazy how we all hate prison joan but are rooting for her outisde
@@fabpcbhfan9592 I have to agree. One of my faves aswell . It’s lovely to see this side of Joan
He got Jason Donovan's dad as his dad and one of the prostitutes Neil Murray killed as his mum, what a win.
25:32 the card Shane shows Joan that is from his sister says very clearly, "dear Robert..." LMAO!!
the kids name is shane, yet the get well card his foster sister wrote him says dear robert!!
she (they) must have confused his real name with show name, real one is Robert.
Jacko just keeps looking more and more like Bea Smith every episode
I'm not one of those people who cry at scenes in films or series, but I admit the goodbye scenes with the Major and Shane got me (just a bit). Alright so she's sadistic and nasty at work but I really feel sorry for Joan. She did the right thing stepping aside for the foster parents, but you can see it's killing her inside. She could have been so happy if the courts had been more broadminded and allowed her to keep Shane. If she wasn't so lonely maybe she wouldn't be so poisonous and bitter. Now she's lost the only things that kept her going and she must feel so desolate and lonely :( Maggie Kirkpatrick really inhabits every facet of Joan's character; you can see the sadness in her eyes even though she puts on a brave face like a true soldier.
bunclip Well said. 👍
Remember it's only a show
She wasn't lonely when Shane was living with her and was just a sadistic as always the things she has done did t give her the right to win custody of anyone's child no matter what the circumstances she doesn't mind hurting the women inside and they are all someone's children!!!!
I'm really digging Jason Donovan's dad's (Shane's foster father) 1980s Adidas Originals track suit!
🤗
Funny from Lou to the nun: "Talkin' to thin air again!"
The actor who played Shane's adoptive father is Terrence Donovan - father of Jason Donovan. He appeared in many things over the years.
‘Auntie Ettie & Meggie Pops’ should have been a spin-off sitcom.
Janice didn't "lag" in the traditional sense, she just blurted out something in fear in the midst of an attack of the terrors. It was hardly lagging.
Alice is a vile person anyway so who cares. Also the amount of things Lou has done but she isn't in Coventry. It's the typical bully the new prisoner routine.
Love the way Ettie laughs when Meg enters her room, I am like that. Must still be devious, I guess!!
Ettie is one if the cutest characters from this era. Her excitement about that christmas tree and making Meg a surprize. So sweet.
Maggie Kirkpatrick is one amazing actress!
She is great. But has a terrible habit of looking directly at the camera
The character Frank Burke but might be a stinkin barstard.....but Trevor Kent is a bloody good actor. RIP Trevor Kent.
Matt Lindsay. he was gay too but plays the evil rapist very well
Yeah he acted with Meryl Streep! Not many actors can say that .. Ironic really him being gay IRL and dying of AIDS
He’s definitely a great actor to make you feel so much emotion. Even if the emotion is hate...
He acts in a theater trained style which is perfect for Prisoner
@Lou Kelly hey Lou
Poor Shane the only person he loved was the freak and major
That part where Shane's reminiscing breaks my heart. Also broke my heart when Joan lied to him about not wanting him. I don't care what anyone says, that wasn't okay to do. I _felt_ the rejection in those lines, and it's a tv show! Children really take things to heart, which is why many grow up with severe problems, if they were abused as children. Even if not abused, children are very impressionable, easy to mold. Since they are easily molded, it could turn out for good or bad when they become adults.
Thankful Shane got away from that creeping pervert, pedophile.
I totally agree.
I would say that people didn’t think that way in those days. Seeing those young kids at the pinnie parlour was quite typical of the day - many kids, particularly those who lived in the inner city areas, were used to going to those places and weren’t closely supervised. They were streetwise quite young. What Joan said wasn’t unusual. That’s almost two generations ago - and two generations before that, kids were leaving school after grade eight. Looking through the lens of today doesn’t relate to life then.
@@helengazzara8725 Plenty of children today still experience rejection and words like that, though...
That hasn't changed at all.
16:00 Pervert alert!!! 18:00 Boiling water scene is priceless.
+Sparky # Onya Shane-o!
Made my skin crawl
Eden Teasdale he was The Weasel very early on in the series. Name still suits him!
Telling Shane he spent money on him. What Money? For a game machine.
Shane should've told Aunty Joan. The Freak would've popped round and debollocked the pervert!
it makes no sense why a man like Burke would be still at the prison. After everything he has done why wouldn't he be at Blackmore?
Love Lou's classic one liners, she's like the real life prototype of an internet troll lol.
Actually hahaha
lol lou was too freaked out by the concept that someone didnt want to slap her
Radiant Silver Labs Lou is the bloody nutcase that she called Anita. 😄😃
I think she thrives on hatred and can't handle it if someone ignores it.
Was just thinking how much older Sister Anita looks then when she played Jackie Nolan. Then I remembered she would have been 3-4 years younger, when she played Jackie.....That's what comes of watching 4 years worth of PCBH in 3 months. Bloody love it!!!
Was Jackie Nolan the one who had escaped and created her own interior design business, and Mrs. Davidson requested she do a remodel at her place??
That's her!
Do It Like The Bereans -Thank you! I could not think of who Jackie Nolan was now I know just who you’re talking about.
Absolutely I've got the same problem total addiction
And of course Jackie was more glammed up than Anita.
Maggie Kirpatrick is a great actress
I noticed To Robert on Shanes get well card..
+Petra Ohlson The actor's name is Robert!
Saxon Greene maybe they stick all these crazy mistakes in on purpose for fun..??
Yes they do.
They are known as Easter eggs,,and they are in just about all movies and shows.
Grace once again accusing the wrong person lol
Everyone's breaking Myras rules and shes not doing anything lol
The alcoholic woman was literally terrified and out of it when she saw Lurch approach her. They didn’t even give the serial rapist this kind of treatment.
Judy is in love with Pixie, Pixie gets raped and Judy still tolerates the creep who raped her! But the woman who was freaking out because she WAS poisoned is worse than that rapist.
Lol. Grossness. So much wrong with their stupid code/system.
And then Lurch with getting upset because she was the one who was part of killing an innocent girl and in Jan delirium outed the dumb biatch.
2:15 You sort things out your way Myra, but Frank got off too lightly. He needs a serious kicking and his bits chopped off!
He didn't even fuck her. He backed off when he saw the cross. I'd say Anita got off very lightly
I'll bring the knife.
Anita did sleep with Fletch.
@@CanberraUser Ew. You’ve obviously not watched the part where he raped Pixie. He also attacked the Greek woman, Bobbie, Jan, Lexi, and Jan.
I mean...come back and tell us if you feel the same if/when you’re own daughter or wife or sister or yourself gets sexually assaulted and you have to live and work with that same assaulter and rapist every day. No protection at all either.
Then come back and say, meh, the victim got off lightly.
@@CanberraUser You've missed the point entirely. Nobody, regardless of who they are, should have to GET OFF. Horrible person.
i think young shane is a great little actor
He is I wonder what he's up to now
I hate it that the writers feel the need to replace a character with a similar character. Since Lizzie left, there's been Edna, Dot, Minnie and now Ettie. We don't need another Lizzie or Doreen or Mouse (not that wanted Mouse in the first place).
26.37 I cried like a baby with what SHANE was saying leading up to that 'Goodbye Hug' 😭😭😭💔
Anita Selby is sheer class. She has more morality and decency than the whole block put together! And isn't Diane Craig just brilliant?
***** Diane Craig totally rocks!
+redhairkid She was great as Jackie Nolan too back a couple seasons ago...
+laurajames723 Definitely. I first became familiar with Diane when she portrayed Jacki. Sheer class!
Chris Marshall. Diane Craig is a brilliant actress.
Yes. I liked her before.
You’d have thought that finding Shane in the middle of the night, at the same place Joan took him fishing, would have made the adoptive parents realise how much Shane wanted and needed to be with his auntie Joan. It’s cruel taking a child away from the people they love the most. And I’m talking from experience
Thank heavens they found Shane!
That horrid brat is a disaster constantly about to happen - to himself and anyone else involved!
Remember, Shane is a bashed child.
During his interview on Talking Prisoner, Robert Summers said, after his last scene, the younger cast members bought a whole lot of chips, lollies, soft drinks etc and threw him a farewell party.
37:35 is that Roland Browning from Grange Hill sat eating at the table behind Myra, lol
No, it's a female
So glad to see Jackie Nolan back, her voice is stunning!
Why does every man that Shane meets when he runs away want to molest him, poor bastard.
maybe hes megs love child felpen lol
13:18 "Don't be bloody stupid!" I've had this echo of Frank's voice rattling around in my head for the last 20 years or so whenever I'm on the point of doing something really dumb!
Amazing how some of these Prisoner lines just stay with you for years and years.
ERL especially Lizzie's... when she used to say Bugger! and when she told the judge "You little beauty" cos he gave her 6 months lmao
Haha yes indeed. Also the one where Lizzie is in hospital and Faulkner tells her about her (possible) parole, she leans forward and quietly exclaims, 'Bloody Ripper!'...love that one.
Lizzie's 'You lazy bitch!' to Agnes.
The Freak's tone and meter is very memorable too, particularly whenever she says 'Insubordination. 'I can just see you Fields, drawing up the contracts!" sticks with me too.
Chrissie's 'Top bloody suck!' at Bea.
Marie Winter has too many to mention. 'I'm your new top dog sweetie. Fat Guts here has just been DE-moted', and 'They're not gonna fire on ya, ya silly old bag!', and, 'Yeah well I'm not gonna have her cramping my style' are all favourites.
As you can tell, I could go on and on.....and on. :)
There was always something about the way that Nola McKenzie would call Lizzie “Wrinkles” that has stuck with me.
He is in there literally
classic prisoner joke, get the trailing copper to drive u around and be really cheeky about it.
Radiant Silver Labs yeah it's a beaut joke innit!
Mr Taylor to Joan when they're out in the woods .. "Joan, you coming?"
Joan looking like ... "Nah mate I'm just gonna hang out here in the darkened woods like the big o'l wolf that I am"'
They didn't mention what happened to Nicky the dog after the Major had passed away or did I miss something?
How does Janice Grant get sent to coventry for lagging yet Alice and Lou get away with murdering Sam? Makes no fkn sense at all to me!
Yeah, I know. Sometimes I want to slap Myra a good one.
Nicky is staying with Shane now! His adoptive dad let Shane keep him
Lizzie was in prison for 20 years for something she didn't do so now Ettie has been in for 45 years for nothing. This storyline didn't need to be rehashed.
Lizzie did actually commit a crime she poisend a load of shearer's but ettie was never convicted of any crime she was on remand and wudnt of served any time once she had returned to court similar story not exactly the same... 😂
lou cracks me up, fair fat and wide.....:D :D
I thought it funny that Tracy’s card for Shane said “to Robert “, the actor’s name ha ha 😜
40:33 the guy borrowed Dreary Clearys Pink jumper!
Lorraine Hall I thought I had seen that pink jumper before. 😃

Love Anita's proper old school Good News bible lol.
Kblogg 777 I have 2 Good News Bibles.. I love the original line drawings and the easy language and the speech marks.
Kblogg 777 I remember those bibles at secondary school during 1993-1998 (funnily enough when the Carlton region of ITV (London etc) was airing the 500's era of Prisoner in 1997-1998). We had to bring them to every religious studies lesson.
They were blooming heavy in our school bags alongside other exercise books, folders etc.
Thankfully nowadays, we can either look online if we want to read the bible, or download an app on our smartphones and tablets, one of which I saw was free in the Apple Store. 😃
I can't help but feel sorry for Joan, where Shane is concerned.Losing her Dad.
Love cruckshanks line about Joan getting thrown of bus for putting the driver on a charge
Murder, stealing and rape are OK but lagging and drugs are not..where is the logic in that.
felpen537 I agree, the logic is all freakin' messed up. And sometimes, the logic of the above changes depending on the writers/the characters and the circumstances. Hehe.
Exactly!
did anyone notice Shane's card was "to Robert" hmmm
Yeah ive just noticed that too. Robert summers is shane real name
Rob T-B I saw that too.
Dad's name is Robert Taylor
@@breyonbrunson2461 but the card was for Shane. Shane even said his sister Tracy made for card for him
Lou : Hey Miss Piggy here comes Kermit
Thought that woman looking at the magazine was Bea Smith. Dam was hoping it was.
35.18 BEA SMITH clearly doesn't like JANICE GRANT😆
No, Joan did _not_ do the right thing by saying those words of rejection to Shane. You don't do that to a child, especially a fragile one who has been rejected like him.
There’s no way Bea would have allowed Burke to Breath after what he did to pixie… Myra need more fire in her…
The infamous Dr McIntyre 😁
Anybody else notice the inside of shanes get well card it said to Robert
I noticed that to....how weird
I know....so weird
pigeon master continuity seems to be a problem it's the same in any hospital scene, the same nurse is called to see the same doctor regardless of whose in whichever hospital I'm sure they think we won't notice these things
Yep
Robert is actually the name of the actor playing the role of Shane.
Bit spooky Matt talking about nuclear accidents a year before chernobyl happened
Wow. That was actually nice of Lou to let Rabbit know that Matt was on his way
Lol lou don't worry Selby he is lousy in the cot 😅🤣
Watching "Marl" join in with a discussion about nuclear energy is hysterical. This show shows off the steamier parts to Australian life ie Shane."Hey Miss Piggy, here comes Kermit"
How many women is Myra gonna let Frank abuse? She keeps choosing half-measures when she should have went all the way and killed him. The writers (unintentionally?) made Myra look weak with this whole storyline.
Good on Joan, putting Mrs. Warren in her place! Tradition indeed not in my prison!!
After 527 episodes I'm still baffled by how this Laundry works. I get the washer, dryer, mending on the machine but don't understand why they fold the sheets before unfolding them for the press? Surly you would press then fold laundry? Just saying!!!!
Bettie Joseph There's no way the inmates should be allowed to smoke in the laundry, it's unrealistic, the hospital they do the sheets for would not want to receive cigarette smoke tainted laundry.
Bettie Joseph my mum always folded first before ironing. It's quicker and easier with rectangular items.
@@stephenpovey-jones6520 smoking was no big deal back then so people weren't offended by the smell as you could smoke in your hospitals rooms in the late 80s
Why the need 3 people to fold sheets
Judy sure isn'T kicking up much of a fuss considering Alice was responsible for her friend's death
The card says to Robert not Shane they messed up with that one😂never mind still love 💖 the vids love 💖 from London uk 🇬🇧👍🏻💖
How may times is this old chestnut appeared on cell block lure the lagger too a hideing
I FUCKING LOVE THE CREEPY VIOLIN MUSIC @ 32:30 :)
I noticed the painting of Shane and Joan's father, the one Joan/Freak had the inmate do, hanging on her wall in the scene where the police come to question her.
Joan il bring a note next time 🤣😅
It's utterly ludicrous that Burke would even be let out of his cell let alone fraternising with women. But he's such a compelling villain, I'll let it slide.
I’d loved to visit Luna park if it’s still there, don’t like the face though, would give me nightmares... anyone know if its still there??
1corrsfan Yes Luna Park is still there. Sadly Almost all of the old stuff has gone, through and newer “electronic “ amusements replaces it. different atmosphere now. And expensive!
The original beautiful Merry Go Round, Carousel is still there. I believe it was on loan from New Orleans for the opening way back in 1912. But we still have it, just kept it!
The original beautiful Merry Go Round, Carousel is still there. I believe we got it on loan from New Orleans way back in 1912 when Luna Park was opened. We just kept it!
Shane down the drain a second time...maybe he's trying to tell us something.
How funny that the actress playing Anita was one of Jim fletcher’s girlfriends several hundred episodes ago (Jackie Nolan)🤔
Prisoner forever, Wentworth never!

Err..Shane's get well card says "To Robert" lol
🤣
Did anyone notice Myra unfolding a folded tea towel that's time wasteing😆😆😆
And why press them? It's unnecessary
How times have changed. All it would have took now was one quick DNA sample and Dennis would be off the hook.
Christmas isn't until 25th December... no shit Sherlock
29:42 Joan apologizing for disturbing a prisoner in their cell? Bloody hell - she really is losing her touch!
30:06 Sister Anita's face reminds me of a gay man.
That poignant, five note piano riff is getting repeated a bit much.
Simon I like the piano riff. I really like all the music in pcbh. The music is one of the shows endearing attributes.
Stephen Povey-jones I dunno if you are as obsessive as me but I have downloaded all the PCBH incidental music off RUclips (there are about 400 pieces) AND 'Radio Relics.. Rare music from Prisoner Cell Block H' which is songs played at parties or at social gatherings or even in the Rec room.. They are on Junior Moults channel.
I hate to point this out, but the get well soon card for Shane from his adopted sister was addressed to his real name, Robert! Wonder what went wrong there... Did the writers give the task to a kid who didn't realise his character's name was Shane?
The Shane story line is getting old; the Joan Ferguson story line is getting old; the Meg falling in love storyline is getting old; and I hope we're not getting another psycho-screw storyline.
Craven latr on
