I was at a Prisoner meet-and-greet on Sunday in Sydney, and when talking with Fiona Spence, a man came over and showed her this clip - that he'd told her about, which she hadn't seen. She loved it, and when Vera states that Joan will be checked for lice, she threw her hands up and laughed "GO, VERA!".
It's very convenient there just happened to be a prisoner with the surname Ferguson during Vera's time, otherwise this video would not have been possible.
This video is both genius and hilarious, I'm so glad I came across this! I think it's safe to say that The Freak and Vinegar Tits do not get along at all.
This clip is great. It's funny and very well constructed. I like the comments around clip 1.50 about the hair colour. Vers against the wall with that typic as Vers look!

It is very interesting to note the changes in the lighting between the earlier Vera episodes and the later Joan episodes - it becomes darker and more sinister. Later on in the series the officer uniforms change also.
lol it wud av been great to have these two in the same scene for a laugh but i dont think it wud have worked having them both in the show at the same era they were too alike although Joan was a hell of a lot more sadistic ! There wud have been major clashes i think even vera wud have dissaproved of joans underhand tactics. Vera was great though she was brutal at times but had a heart deep down
Mitchell Marsen wow was Fiona Spence gay?? And Maggie Kirkpatrick straight?? Also I used to imagine that Betty Bobbitt who played Judy was straight and was a wonderful actress playing a gay woman.. I was so disappointed to discover that she actually was gay and that it wasn't an act!!
When did Vera Meet Ferguson? I've watched all the Vera eps, and it broke my heart when she left, but Ferguson isn't even on the show yet when Vera leaves.

It is interesting how the quality of lighting changed during the series - it was more muted and shadowy later in the series
