Harold, thanks for supporting Tibetan business. 40% of India-based Tibetan refugees’ sole source of income is from these small businesses. These markets are called Tibetan refugee market because rent is only given to Tibetans and since nowadays China has highly restricted border areas since 2008, you see less and less Tibetans who come from Tibet directly. Most of these people are 2nd generation Tibetans whose parents fled Tibet into exile from 1959 onwards.

Oh and that house you went into was incredible!! Such friendly and happy people. A real joy emanates from all of them. Thanks and can't wait for your next vlog ❤ cheers mate
My favorite part was the home invasion. She was so happy to have company and thankful for the treasures.
Interesting that outside of mainland India, women are more prominent in public places, like working as shopkeepers.
I blame the Christian and Islamic occupation of India for centuries. When you look at Hindu temple art prior to this takeover and rule it appears Indian society was a much freer culture for women. Just an observation I've made as an outsider
And ladak is mainland india, it's not an island
@@HaraldBaldryes and u need to read little bit about Tibet situation, how Dalai Lama had to take refuge in India bcs of china
@@HaraldBaldrits true. Please visit Karbi Anglong district of Assam and explore our Karbi traditions and culture as well.
@@HaraldBaldrindeed man , women were prized trophies for invaders , islamists sold them like in the middle east , christians converted them to convert others. Christianity is a billion dollar business in india , in a few years the west will pour in hundreds of millions each year and people are tricked into paying 20% of their income to get closer to god
Ladakhi PEOPLE HONEST PEOPLE ! Right Mr HARALD
first lady's exchange rates are crazy, the snack thing ended up costing a whole lot more

.
And she kept saying she is Wangchuk’s mom ❤
A fantastic video my friend!
I've been a long term follower, although I don't comment too much & I really like what you do.
These global regions are so beautiful & interesting & really good for human connections & a rich cultural experience.
The shopping is amazing & so well worth a visit alone, but to be honest, for me, it's all about the human connections within all of these wonderful countries.
I was back in Scandinavia & Ireland earlier this year, but as soon as I am able, I want to visit this part of the world & the beautiful Caucasus & Balkan regions are also on my "to do" travel list.
Keep on travelling & enjoying your awesome global journeys!
Peace✌
The guy in the shop who knew who you were was such a polite and nice man. He seemed very proud of his Dads shop! Cool guy.
Who are here just after the notification? 😁
I didn't get one. I had to keep an eye on the northman for the release of a new video.
i really respect when you don't bargain with hardworking people(like the knitting lady), but bargain with people trying others to rip off.
