u legit forgot to mention the 6'11 mehmet okur on the 2000's jazz. A 1x all star who was one of the first centers that consistently shot threes and had two seasons where he made over 100. He also won a championship with the 2004 detroit pistons and in 2006, averaged 18 ppg.
Facts💯 i wish he never left Detroit! Had we kept him! We would of won back to back titles
Utah was loaded with 3 pt shooters n staunch defenders like korver, matt harpring, ronnie brewer,okur,ak47,cj miles. They team was really loaded lowkey.I think they were missing a legit shot creating wing who could score
@@mxhughes true! The West was so deep in the 2000's! 50-55 wins in the regular season was considered 4-6th seed
@@mxhughes they also had wesley nathews and milsap I believe
The refs really screwed the Kings out of a championship in 2002, the NBA knew that nobody wanted the Kings vs Nets in Finals.
Kings/Nets Finals would of been Awesome! J kidd change his behavior when he got traded to New Jersey! He was still great back in his Phoenix days but he was a hot head lol im from Detroit! But "the Kings" was my second favorite team behind the pistons
tell Peja not to airball a corner 3 in game 7
@@atribecalledlen3567 or maybe just officiate correctly 🤫
They didn't deserve to win. If they did. They would have won.
Shiddd to be fair, I'd rather saw that Kings/Nets finals over seeing Shaq & Kobe steamroll another Eastern Conference team ready for slaughter.
They weren't forgotten to me! This was the NBA at it's best✔💯 growing up in the early 2000's was the good days
Nah the players now are better you would think not but the ppg avg and everything was never as high as now because players bench players are averaging superstar numbers of the 2000
@@tripsgotdrip which bench players. 2000s or 2020s players
@@tripsgotdrip you drunk? at first look at the pace now and then., look at the defense and then talk about how great they score now
@@tripsgotdrip that's because of pace of play and that's a lie anyway. The 2000s was actually probably the worst overall but "fans" just look at a few teams and ignore things like they had more sub 20 win teams than the history of the league combined. Then you can easily just point to guys like Ben Wallace and Dwight Howard.
Cuban really fumbled by not bringing back Nash but I’m almost certain if Dirk doesn’t get injured that they beat the Spurs and win the championship and if that happens, then Nash never goes to Phoenix. Crazy how small things like that can change everything
Lucky for Nash tho, he probably wouldn’t have made the hall of fame without the dantoni boost
@@talksmack4737 nash was already a star and played similar basketball when he was with mavs. He didnt need d antoni
@@tj5180 yeah but being a 3x allstar wont get you in the hof unless you are like manu or something. His 2 MVPs is worth more than 1 ring as a second option imo.
@@kingdinodragonite3470 nash was the best player when he was on those teams. When he earned those 2 mvps
@@tj5180 yeah and that's why leaving dallas was better for his legacy.
The 2000’s Phoenix Suns team paved the way basketball is played today 🏀☀️
The early time mavericks were a lowkey underachieving squad they had tons of all star talented players for years like antwan jamison, nick van exel, antoine walker, josh howard, jason terry, micheal finley, jerry stackhouse etc
Did they play all together ? Damn. They had so many guys
@@tj5180 those are guys they had over the years in the 2000s but yea majority of them played together like dirk, nash, finley, walker, jamison, howard then post nash era they had dirk with terry, stackhouse, howard, devin harris
Forreals
@@mxhughes they were really stacked. west was stacked sadly as well with the lakers and spurs and dirk`s injury in 2003 wcf
Nash
Lmaoo bro called the pacer the most mid team ever, you not wrong bro!! 😂😂😂
Them Mavs vs Kings games were entertaining as hell...The highest scoring games I've ever seen lol
I love these thumbnails 🔥🔥 Reminds me of being a kid & buying season preview magazines. I grew up watching the 2000s too. Really a special time for me
Bro nba history videos like this are straight 🔥 keep it up
Only 3 western teams reached the finals between 2000 - 2010: Lakers, Spurs, and the Mavericks.
Only 2 teams had 50 straight wins during that span: the Spurs and the Mavericks.
The Western Conference is a bloodbath in the 2000s.
The 2000s Nuggets is a team you left out. They had Melo and AI and after getting Chauncey made it to the WCF in 2009.
Those Nuggets teams were like Walmart Rockets except they didn't have the Rockets potential and x factor in Yao Ming. AI was empty stats (not even good if you look into the efficiency) at that point of his career, Melo was a slightly better version of Rockets McGrady both lacked efficiency and underperformed in playoffs. Their offense was black hole cause of AI and Melo and their defensive roles players like Camby and some other were working overtime cause of their stars being a huge liabilities on defense. And I say that as someone that grew up with AI being one of my favorite players and probably still can find AI Nuggets jersey from when I was a kid. Fun team, but not a very serious one. Mavericks, Jazz, Pacers, Trail Blazers and especially Suns and Kings played better basketball.
"That some people would say the 2002 series was rigged..."
Some people: everyone who actually watched the series, everyone not a Laker fan, announcers during game 6, actual referee who officiated the series
Trail Blazers got similar treatment and to some extent Bucks too. NBA was the most WWE-esque during that period and tried really hard to push Kobe the next MJ narrative (then same with LeBron just in case plan B as there was some doubt if Kobe is really that guy before he went nuclear after Shaq left and legal issues as well hurting his image) and gain as much popularity as possible through AI cultural impact since they were trying to avoid the another dip in popularity and views like the league experienced in late 80s-early 90s.
Love Omo mustard
Pacers would've made the finals if it wasn't for malice for the palace. Would've seen that spurs vs Pacers finals matchup
I grew up in this era. So many great teams. It just was let one of two teams that were like in the 2010 era. 2020 era feels like a mini 2000s era.
Mentioning Glenn Robinson (superstar) and the pic of Glenn Robinson III (role player that won on dunk contest) is funny 😂
Abd that Dallas team was a big 3 wit Michael FInley. Well...
Glad I'm not the only one here on this, and I was just going to mention it - like, huh, that's his son....
Surprised people don't talk about the Sonics who had Lewis and ray Allen. They were a nasty duo but didn't last short but imagine if they stayed together
They don't get talked about much because they didn't have much success.
4 years is short?
Great list but small correction. The 2003 Mavs were the 3 seed not the 1 seed. It was a weird season where the top two records in the Conference were in the same division.
The Spurs and Mavs both won 60 games, but the Spurs got the 1 seed due to a tiebreaker and the Mavs were the 3 seed. The Kings were actually the 2 seed and got home court against the Mavs despite having one less win.
I wonder how much times Yung mustard says "underrated" in each video
solid list definitely think the We Believe Warriors deserve honorable mention. they didnt have a wild finals push but they beat the #1 team which is rare in the NBA. but maybe Im biased
Those Dallas teams got me invested more in the NBA and has been a MFFL since then!
Calling the 2000s the “best era” is extremely disingenuous because of how historically weak the Eastern conference was during that era until the Celtics super team showed up in the late 2000s. This era showcased 2 of the worst teams the ever make the finals (Allen Iverson 76ers and LeBron Cavs) and both of those teams were from the East
And pistons. But the west is stacked
@Best Waifu: Nero Bride Bruh but at least from 2000-2006 had teams competing for a championship I don't know why you tripping on the NBA in the 2000s quit tripping you new school head
The nba talent on benches even some starters in general was weak back then like sorry but every team had a weak bench usually and 1 bum starter at least
@@razkable do you know that for sure or are you calling it like you see it
I’m a Lakers fan but believed the Kings got robbed.
I wonder why ak47 had a short career. He could've played longer
Allegedly, he was obsessed with World of Warcraft that it messed up his basketball career and other areas of his life.
To me the most slept on teams in the west from that Era were the Kings,Mavs and Trail Blazers...all of those teams were loaded ...and The Kings got screwed over by the refs against the Lakers
How are the kings and mavs slept on from that era? Everyone talks about how the kings got fucked over by the refs lmaoo 🤣and mavs were perennial contenders through the 2000s every year they were in the mix. You must be young as hell bro
@@skywalker2676 ya lots of people talk about those kings and mavs teams but not the blazers in the early 2000s and with oden roy and alridge due to injuries.
@@tj5180 I’m saying bro 🤣every year somebody talks about how the kings got fucked over by the refs in the WCF they not underrated at all same with the mavs. And more likely the early 00s blazers teams and even mid to later blazers teams bcuz Roy and oden were alwyas injured smh
These teams that you listed are honestly one of the greatest teams to never win a title
The 2023-2024 season has a bright future from Rookie Victor to Giannis that's the best in the NBA
The Present and future is bright
Anyone know the background song?
Mehmet Okur would like a word
00 Laker
10 Lakers
08 Celtics
09 Magic
09 Nuggets
07 Mavs
03 Spurs
08 Rockets
09 Jazz
09 Cavs
04 Pistons
06 Heat
02 Kings
02 Nets
01 Sixers
What if dantoni was the coach for the early 2000’s mavs?
Unnecessary. They already had Don Nelson
What I’m saying is Nash began to thrive in the 7 seconds or less, what if he got the system earlier with Dirk as his running mate. I think the system would have worked in dalls
@@ohinatabae8772 I know what you're saying. I'm just making a Don Nelson joke
You forgot the 2001 76ers though that team was good tho
how can you go without mentioning the twolves in a forgotten teams of 00's video? they made it to the conference finals and had interesting pieces alongisde the mvp kg
Saying that Jason Kidd was just a Black Ricky Rubio is unfair. The Nets were a significantly worse team before he was traded to them. Rubio never had an MVP-like impact on a team.
Jason Kidd was one of the best defensive pg in NBA history. A fantastic passer and a damn good rebounder
@@RLSmith-jt8qj his impact was something else
Admittedly a nitpick, but for the record. Vladi Daddi was the premier passing center during his time in Sac. Rubio and Kidd in the same sentence is nonsensical. Finally, Dallas wasn't a duo, it was a Trio with Michael Finely being at that time the most complete player of the three. Honorable mention goes out to those scrappy Hubie Brown coached Grizzlies
Divac is the most underrated big man passer says everyone. That makes him not underrated lol
Did you purposely show a pic of Glenn Robinson's son lol
The rockets should’ve made a WCF AT LEAST, but Tmac was injury prone and a choker smh
2000s Era is the Greatest Era in Nba History. Most Competitive
Did he call J kidd a black ricki Rubio ??
It's always rigged when the underdog loses as expected.
Why not show Glen Robinson the son instead of his father when talking about the bucks?
00s Kings🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The 2000s the best era? Dwight Howard "won" 3 dpoys, Ron Artest could "guard all five positions", and there were more sub 20 win teams in the 2000s than the history of the league combined. As ignorant as calling McHrady overrated and Kobe clutch.
Too many 20 somethings commenting on teams they barely watched when they were 10 years old. And too many 10 year olds are commenting on stuff now tbh. Back in those days we never compared the teams to the past bc we didnt watch them.
RUclips + "adv stats" and everyone's a critic 😂
Bro have you ever had plantain chips and chin chin my Nigerian brother
yea i have lol
To say there the MOST forgotten teams is stupid c mon. The title should be the best forgotten teams or five great forgotten teams like some random charlotte team is more forgotten
Dallas could have won 2003
How are u gonna forget the definition of forgotten teams in the 2000s the PHOENIX SUNS!!!! Ppl only remember very little of 2004 when they went from 28 to 62 wins that’s it for the 2000s suns crazy how u put the Nets but not suns 🤦🏽♂️
Webber imo was better than Dirk when he was at his peak, idc what anyone says. I SAW IT
Wait Jason Kidd wasn’t white?
He's partially black, I think.
@@chrismathgenius ay yes the white skin
No he’s Mexican
I had no idea he was black until a few years ago
@@skywalker2676 having a black ancestor doesnt make him black lmao he was obviously white
