I wouldn't say he is remembering the golden days because there is no way this kid was alive back then. I do appreciate him documenting this though. I would love to see him do something on the ABA Indiana Pacers
Man, what a stacked roster this Cavs team had. Jim Chones, Bingo Smith, Nate Thurmond, Austin Carr, Jim Cleamons, Dick Snyder and Jim Brewer. All of those guys are super underrated today.
A Suns-Cavs finals would have been awesome. I honestly wouldn’t be able to know who would have won, since both teams were loaded with talent. I think the lack of Chones likely would have hurt Cleveland in the series, but I still feel like they would have put up a good fight. A world where either Bingo Smith or Alvan Adams win Finals MVP is a super cool one in my view.
Great job with this video! You’re killing it with this content. A suggestion I would have for a future topic would be the late 70’s post-Willis Reed Knicks with Frazier, Earl The Pearl, Spencer Haywood and Bob McAdoo.
Bill Fitch really did well. He had coached the Celtics to.the Championship and coached the.Rockets to finals in 1981. I guess he is the type.of coach under dog teams need.
Fitch was at Boston in 81'. Houston in 86'.
Jim Chones broken foot was devastating. The team was so exciting and Joe Tate on the radio was magical. It was an awesome time to be 11 years old and a Cavs fan.
Nate Thurmond was A1.. very underated center but, was more than solid, went he needed to score, he was reliable.. great, great defensive player.. very solid player on all the teams he played with...
And he had the ultimate respect of guys like Wilt, who lauded Thurmond regularly.
Oh I LOVED these CAVS! And I’ve been a BUCKS fan from day 1, a Milwaukeean. But THIS mix of unheralded (unless you were in MY peer group lol) Bingo/Thurmond, Carr…maaaan and Jim Chones is from my area, played at Marquette
The Clippers' Hall of Fame announcer Ralph Lawler coined his "Bingo" phrase due in part because of Bingo Smith. Smith played his final seasons with the (San Diego) Clippers, where Lawler was the play-by-play announcer
Joe Tait started the Bingo call long before Smith went to the Clippers.

when the Cavaliers beat the Lakers at the very end of the 1972 season, effectively making it impossible for the Lakers to get to 70 wins, my mom refused to let me go to Cleveland Arena by myself to watch the game (I was 14)…my brother and I listened to the radio broadcast of the game…Joe Tait’s call of that game, especially in the final seconds, was actually better than being there…Joe Tait RULED…
Great episode. You mentioned Luke Witte, that Minnesota-OSU brawl would make a great video. It’s an overlooked part of sports history and Luke Witte is a big what if in my opinion.
Also I love watching the old 70s gameplay clips, something about the pre-3ball era of basketball is just so much more interesting.
And Jim Brewer was on that Minnesota team, though he had no significant part in the brawl. He ended up on the Cavs with Witte.
Bingo Smith just recently passed away. R.I.P
May he rest in peace, and may his family and friends be healed and comforted.

I'm a HUGE Cavs fan, but I was a few years after the Miracle at Richfield. But growing up, I learned about that 75/76 team because it was EVERYWHERE at the Richfield Coliseum and later at Gund Arena (now Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse). Especially those retired numbers of Bingo Smith, Nate Thurmond, and Austin Carr in the rafters. Although, I think the Cavs should retire Jim Chones and Campy Russell too
They really should retire Chones and Russell, they were fantastic! Carr during his short prime was my favorite, then Campy a close 2nd!

Oh how I remember this so well. I was just out of high school in a small town about a half and hour from the Coliseum. Even though I did not attend any of the playoff games, I watched every second from my tv. Went crazy when Dick Snyder hit that shot to win the game. Good job on this video.

Great teams in Cleveland.. I used to pick up their games when I lived in buffalo in the 1970s on three double e Cleveland radio.. Joe tait.. Pete Franklin.. should have won a title but not quite there

Just wanted to say that I started watching your videos not even two weeks ago and your intro had me craving for some Castlevania, which I had never played before. As of today, I've beaten the original and Dracula's Curse, and I'm on stage 7 of Rondo of Blood (which I'm finding real tough) on 80% completion. Thanks for the nudge!
Dracula’s curse is probably my favorite castlevania game but I’ve only beaten the alucard path. I usually rage quit when I get to the water dragons with Syfa
@@unclehays750 I didn't even unlock her. In fact, I didn't even know how to swap between characters until the second to last level, and wasn't told about Alucard's flight until after beating the game, so I just sticked to Trevor. To be honest, I did have to resort to savestates from time to time because, while I said I beat the game, it was beating my resolve just as much, if not more. Can't use them for Rondo of Blood so that one I will conquer fair and square (at least I hope I will).

If I remember correctly Charlie Scott was given two points to end the third quarter of game 5 against the Celtics way after the buzzer sounded. One mistake is that the game 7 between the Warriors Suns took place after game 5 Celtics/Cavs so the league wouldn't have known yet that the warriors lost in an attempt to tilt the series to the Celtics.

I don't think they would've beaten the Suns...Phoenix almost beat Boston. It's possible though, Cleveland was great that year.
